4-0 out of 5 stars Snowmobiles on the gameboy, finaly
For years we never saw any racing games on any system that didn't involvecars. That seems to have changed, with new racing style games coming outevery month, Polaris Snowcross sheds some light on the widely popular yetlittle known sport of snowmobile racing. For game boy game this title isgood. It has decent graphics, easy to use controls, and a wide variety oftracks to race on. As you grow as a racer and improve your rank, newpolaris models become available to you. Multi-player only adds to theexperience, letting you spar a friend with the link system. A great titlefor anyone who likes racing or snowmobiles and has a game boy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Fun Game. You Don't have to read this, go buy it NOW!
I have played this game over and over, and have found it to be very challenging and fun.I see no downpoints to it. It has upgradable sleds, top down racing with forced perspective, and great challenge!

I highlyrecommend getting it.

4-0 out of 5 stars POLORIS SNOCROSS
This game is very fun because you need practice with the controls and it takes time to get good at some of the levels. This game is a racing game but for snowmobiles. If you like snowmobiles you will probobly like thisgame. It is much like some other racing games but there is always a levelthat takes some time to beat.I think, overall this game is very fun andexciting for the snowmobile lover. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars bomberman is back ,on GBC, better then ever! :)
This is the best bomberman game thats on the gameboy color, the graphics are fascinating, the game engine is the same as the original ones. the music is neat. No bomberman fans should miss out this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's not good and it's not bad
Bomberman strikes again..... well this game I think is boring. At first when you play it you think its good but after 3 levels it REALLY gets boring. Trying to beat 1 level is hard enough because you can die by your bombs!! And also getting busted by those animals and getting killed by your owm bombs can be really frustrating. I wouldn't recomend this to anyone except those who really like bomberman. The graphics are stunting but the gameplay is really boring. So don't buy it except if you like bomberman!! BORING GAME!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Bust-A-Move Rocks
This is a awsome game. Like no other. All the bust a moves are great. I'm always playing them. Just to let parents know, this game keeps kids busy for hours. Well, any way this is my all time favorite GameBoy game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bubble Blast
Bust-A-Move is the best game for your Game Boy. YOu need to play in the light or you can't see the different colored bubbles. You can play against your friend(s) or the computer. You can get secret players after you win a certain amount of wins in a row.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's More Addictive than Tetris
This game is a great buy! If you are a bust a move fan, you will love this and thank me for recommending it to you. There are four different ways you can play - you can play a puzzle game, against the computer, against a friend with GameBoy link, and you can take the bust a move challenge. The best part is, all of these variations are a blast to play. It's very addictive and never gets boring. The only complaint I have is that if you do not have a worm light, it can be difficult to distinguish the different colors of the bubbles, but after playing a couple of rounds you get used to it.I have taught many people how to play bust a move and every single person became an addict like me. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very Fun
This game is very fun. It has great game play and it is full of action. I reccomend this game to people who like basketball.

1-0 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE!!!
This game was very disappointing.First on all,all the players are equal. For example:Shaq can shoot as well from the 3-point line as Kobe.Second, all the players are little black blobs that look dead and are the same height. Third, there's a corny little noise that is made after you make a shot. So, if you are thinking about buying this, DON'T! Unless you wanna waste your money.

Warlocked [color only]
Average Customer Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Game Cartridge

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

Editorial Review

Warlocked is a fantasy real-time strategy (RTS) game that focuseson resource collecting, unit building, exploring, and battling between two bitter rivals: humans and beasts. Gamers can choose to play on one side or the other, each housing a dozen missions, numerous subplots, unique units, and different personalities.

We enjoyed how simply Warlocked uses the Game Boy Color's interface of four arrow keys and two buttons to do everything. RTS games typically rely heavily on savvy mouse maneuvering, and we feared the gameplay would be very difficult on the small Game Boy Color screen. Thankfully, its not, and the game scores better for it.

The basic gameplay involves mining gold and chopping down wood to create new buildings and units, as well as creating an army of warriors and archers to do your dirty work. If there are too many people and not enough houses, your town hall will be unable to produce more men until there are adequate quarters for them to sleep in. Likewise, if there's not enough wood to make archers, you may be stuck creating more sword-wielding grunts.

Wizards can be found and protected, then added to your arsenal. Each of the 20 different kinds of magicians features its own unique skill. While some may be able to launch fireballs, cause earthquakes or summon lightning storms, others may make enemies fall asleep, cause deadly plagues, or convert enemy fighters over to your side.

Mission objectives themselves vary greatly. From rescuing a princess, finding treasure chests, riding a dragon out of its lair, escorting an important member of royalty to safety, or destroying a village, it's rare to see such variety in any game these days, much less a portable one!

Warlocked has only one glaring problem: pathfinding artificial intelligence (AI). In many cases, when you're instructing your troops or workerto go somewhere, the little warriors will get stuck behind objects or tangled in groups.

The good news that comes out of this AI problem is the strong multiplayer mode. That's right--with the optional Game Link cable, twoWarlockedgamers can be (forgive the pun, we couldn't resist!) locked in war with each other. In fact, during the single-player game, it's possible to unlock special multiplayer maps (eight in all). This head-to-head option proved to be the most fun game mode of all.

Fans of the bigger, badder RTS games such as WarCraft and Age of Empires will find much to love here. Don't be thrown off by the Game Boy guise--you just might get hooked! --Todd Mowatt

Pros:

  • Easy-to-use interface
  • Wide variety in gameplay
  • Fun head-to-head option
Cons:
  • Poor pathfinding artificial intelligence often makes for bumbling troops

5-0 out of 5 stars Warlocked
There are two sides that you can play on: Queen Azarel's army in which you control human knights, elven archers, and grunts(little humans that do work like mining and chopping down trees,) or Emperor Zog's army which consists of beast warriors (instead of human knights,) skeleton archers (instead of elven archers,) and goblins (instead of grunts.)You can also gather wizards to aid you, and build essential farms to feed your troops. Also, if you find a dragon egg, you can have your troops carry it back to your Main Hall (your base) and it will hatch in about one minute.Even when you beat the game, you will find yourself coming back for more strategic fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy it
...This game is awsome and my guess is the guy in the last reveiw doesnt know how to play a strategy game. This game has every thing and is a great because it has mini games(poker, and slider) if you get tired of the main game. It would be better with more missions, its still a great game. But you may want to wait and get Wizards which is the sequel to this game, which will be on game boy advance.I cant wait.

3-0 out of 5 stars A fair reveiw
Hi i have been gaming for a while and i enjoy all types, since most reviews afther say the game is awesome or horible, but i will give a fair review. But to start I would like to say i would give this game a 3.5 but there is no half of a star rating, but i felt that the game wasn't good enough to be awared a 4 mark. Warlock is a neat little rts and is fun to play while travling, be sure to bring extra batteries! this game can get addicting, but it's pathetic when you compare it to other rts's like age of empires and startcraft etc. But you have to think. This little pak did pretty well and i enjoyed the game very much. You have to read the manual for a bit and practice the controls for a bit. But once you got those the game becomes easier to understand. The graphics are like 1980 ones but you can make things out, which is really all a games needs to have. Sound is good, and music changes during the battles, so it creates more of a mood. When you selecting on one of your troops (1 of 4 posible types) they give a little grunt that you can hear to know that you selected one. The game is really easy at first but it gets hard, you'll find yourself planning your attacks more carefully. Each game contains wizzards that have special abilities. and everytime you beat a level all your troops, wood and gold are put into a chest called "the War chest", after you completed one races game (there are two Humans [good, can use knights elfin archers and grunts] and Monsters {bad, can use wariors, skeleton archers and goblins]) niether has the any advantages over the other, but i found the humans quest easier then the monsters. Any way i would recomend this game to any one who read this reveiw and wants the game. But you may want to rent it before buying, so you spend less money. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good game, but this isn't a good system for it
Pac-Man. No one can deny that this game is one of the greatest video games of all time, perhaps due to the fact that it is so involving and addictive, yet extremely easy to learn. Needless to say the game has been ported to a plethora of home consoles. One of the first was this version for the original Game Boy. Read on for my review of the game.

THE GOOD:
-Finally, a portable version of the game!
-With the exception of the graphics, the game is an exact reproduction of the arcade original.
-The two-player mode is nice.

THE BAD:
-You have two choices of how to play the game. You can play a zoomed-in mode, where everything is more detailed but you see less of the screen, or you can play a full-screen mode like the arcade classic, but the detail is pitiful. THIS is why Pac-Man fails as a portable game.

OVERALL:
-Get a consular version of the game instead. As good an idea as making Pac-Man portable may have sounded, it's just not possible to pull it off well.

2-0 out of 5 stars A Hard Game
I did not like this game very much. They only give you three lives when you should have double that amount.I only got to Level 5.The mazes are tiny and hard to move around in.I would not buy this game again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Ms. Pac-Man Review
The Ms. Pac-Man game is really fun, but the sounds really get annoying after a while. The tiny maze is really fun and easy to play. The different levels are really hard because of the number of lives. It is really hard to play against the monsters. It is really fun and I think you should get it. I reccomend that you should be 7 or older. It is really fun once you get the hang of it. It has a lot of action. To get tomore levels you really need to know the game.It is really, really fun and exciting!Get it! ... Read more

Mario Golf

Editorial Review

Given that most people will buy anything with Mario's chubbyface plastered on it, the developers of Mario Golf could havetaken the easy route with this license. Instead they practically ignoredit, focusing on gameplay instead. Players can jump straight into thegolfing action on one of the game's four courses, but we recommendchecking out the excellent role-playing mode. In this mode, you create acharacter and improve his or her golf skills by earning experiencepoints in tournaments, playing minigames, or receiving items fromcharacters in the gaming world.

This is one of the best arcade golf games on any system, period. Thephysics just feel right. If you perform poorly, it was probably yourfault--rather than poor game controls. The camera zooms in on the actionwhen the ball gets close to the hole, turning many shots intonail-biting experiences. After a few pathetic rounds, we were able to get afeel for the wind and the lie of the greens. Then, it happened--webecame hooked on this must-own game. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Terrific, intuitive controls
  • Ability to improve performance of your golfer in the RPG mode
Cons:
  • Not your typical Mario game

5-0 out of 5 stars What an awesome game
I only got gameboy for the car and long trips or to wait somewhere.I play this games for hours at a time and it never gets old.I this is the BEST games for gameboy!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mario golf is the best game for gameboy period.
this game is awesome. it is a very very addicting game. the grafics are great, gameplay out of sight, there are so many things that you can unlock but i wont tell you. the more courses you win the better it is for your drive, control and the stuff you can unlock. i highly recommend you buy this game even if u dont like golf that much.

5-0 out of 5 stars Golfing, Mario, and RPG combine
This game is absolutely fantastic. With excellent graphics, a very easy learning curve, and simple play control, anyone can pick up and enjoy this game. Beyond these though, is the game play. Not only do you travel from club to club, testing your skill against people, but every match you play increases your number of experience points. At certain intervals, your level increases, allowing you to better one of your statistics. You could increase your maximum driving distance, adjust your shot height, or take care of that annoying slice you may have. Starting out with only a minimal amount of characters, you can earn more by winning championships. This game has an incredible amount of depth to it. By no means should it be overlooked. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Tetris...What makes it so addictive?
I found "TETRIS" in the middle of nowhere and found it a brilliant addition to my very primative collection of games (i live for the old stuff). It is easy to catch onto the simple rules and very addictive. You can never WIN, but beating your own personal best is really good when it happens. I think that is also educational for that buff they call spacial awareness.

However, I would not buy it unless you can get a good price for it. You can get HandHeld games with original And Variations of the origianl "TETRIS".

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Tetris Game!
I have both this game AND Tetris Worlds for Game Boy Advance, And I love them both as much as the other. Tetris worlds my not have a Battery Back-up, but it more than makes up for that with the extremely fun game variations and the classic tetris Music.
Tetris DX DOES Have a battery, but it's just basic tetris. I'm able to score at least 400,000 points regularly, so every time I top out I have to put up with that annoying rocket launch sequence, wheras with Tetris Worlds, when you top out, you can start the next game right away without having to put up with annoying rocket sequences. the bottom line: went I want to play Classic Tetris, I play Tetris DX. when I want Enhanced graphics and effects and Nostalgic Music, I play Tetris Worlds

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic Tetris Dx
Tetris DX is a very fun game! You will be addicted to it in no time! There are many different things you can do to change the game settings. For example, you can change the music. You can also change the level you are on yourself, although I wouldn't recommend doing it until after you have become a very good player. There also many game modes you can play in, like 40 Lines, on which you have to get 40 lines without your blocks hitting the top, Marathon, on which you just keep going and going and going until your blocks hit the top, or Ultra, where you see how good you can do, except you only have 3 minutes to do so. The computer also keeps track of your best records and displays them when you are choosing your level. Tetris DX is an absolutely terrific game! I would recommend it to anybody! You'll have a lot of fun playing it. Thank you for reading my review. I hope it helped. ... Read more
