    Editorial Review

As Wolverine, you're on the run for your life. Your nemesis, Lady Deathstrike, is building a weapon that can turn your entire adamantine skeleton into liquid metal, claws and all. You must battle it out with three of your archenemies--Cyber, Sabretooth, and Lady Deathstrike--in order to destroy the weapon before it destroys you. Use Wolverine's bestial rage when you need a powerful attack, but be careful not to deplete all your health. Your mutant powers must be harnessed and used wisely to be effective. Go beyond simple running and punching: utilize claw attacks, lightning-fast uppercuts, and squat attacks to knock opponents out. As Wolverine, your mutant powers and metal skeleton are regenerative, making you difficult to kill, but you're still under the clock. There's no limitless life in this world. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars the worst
I don't know what these people are thinking. If they want to make a good game so a lot of people will buy it, they have to be using different systems! This game dos'nt look good when you're playing it.these graphics are a joke. And all the old X-men costumes!I being a huge X-men fan was throughly dissapointed.SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Average run of the mill side scroller
The only thins that sets X-Men: Wolverine's Rage apart from other side scrollers is the X-Men license itself.Strip away the fact your playing as Wolverine, and you've just got yourself an average run of the mill side scroller with nothing special attached to it.The game's 13 levels are relatively short and not at all too challenging, and the gameplay gets very repetitive after a while as well. The graphics are nicely animated, but the characters move around a bit jerky, plus it would have been nice to have some added super villians other than Cyber, Sabretooth, and Lady Deathstrike. All in all, if your an X-Men fan and own a GBC, give this game a try, but all others should leave this on the shelf. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Beautifully frustrating
Rayman has traditionally proven high quality graphics and sound, and despite some great limitations on the Game Boy Color system, Rayman still delivers the goods. This has to be one of the prettiest carts out there, and its music actually sounds half decent considering the materials it has to work with. Rayman is also one of the better side-scrolling platforms available for the system, but it doesn't come without a gripe or three. The password save makes it less convenient to pick up and play anytime you want. Later levels become very frustrating, also. Imagine having your controls reversed through an entire world or being followed in every footstop by a "dark Rayman." Games need challenge, but not to this extent. Remember, Game Boys break very easily, and Rayman does everything it can to promote that.

5-0 out of 5 stars A REALLY fun game
I thought Rayman was sooo fun. It had really cool grafics. Some times it was really hard though. For me Rayman never gets boring. If you dont already have it get rayman!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game Boy game, great graphics for GB!
I am suprissed that this game doesn't get as much credit that it deserves. The graphics are some of the best I have seen on the Game Boy, and the game is great. If you enjoy Donkey Kong Country, and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, this will be a great addition to your game boy library. IT is a great platformer that should not be missed. ... Read more

    Wario Land 3 [color only]
Average Customer Review: 4.0 out of 5 stars
    Game Cartridge

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

The Wario Land series stands as one of the mostinnovative on the Game Boy Color, and with each new release we are leftwondering how Nintendo is going to top itself with subsequent releases.Somehow they've managed to improve on the game's magical formula onceagain with Wario Land 3, which is not only the best Wario gameever released, but also one of the best Game Boy Color games, period.

Most games require cheat codes before players get unlimited lives, butthe gameplay of Wario Land 3 revolves around the concept ofinvincibility. Wario can't die, but the various creatures in the gamecan transform him temporarily into an alternate form. Get hit by azombie, and you turn into a zombie until you are healed by light from astreet lamp. Let the mad professor hit you with his potion and youbecome invisible, meaning security cameras can't see you, but you alsocan't see yourself to make precision jumps. Each alternate form has aspecific strength and weakness, and figuring out how to use thetransformations to solve puzzles is half of the game's fun. It may seemcounterintuitive, but to succeed at this game you'll need todeliberately try to get hit by certain enemies at various points in thegame. Is this the anti-Mario, or what?

The graphics are clear and colorful, and the animations for both Warioand the other denizens of the land he's trapped in are very fluid. Thesound effects are so-so, but the strange soundtracks that play on eachlevel are catchy. Considering the limitations of the Game Boy Color,it's nice to have a game that combines some of the best graphics thesystem can output with some of the most phenomenal gameplay everdeveloped for any title. --T. Byrl Baker

    Pros:

    • Twists like invincibility and transformations make for someexciting gameplay considerations
    • Terrific background graphics, smoothly animated characters, and acatchy soundtrack
    • One of the best Game Boy Color games ever released
    Cons:
    • May be too difficult and frustrating for younger players

4-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the first one but it surprizingly beats 4
I remember my friend who had wario land (mario land 3) an it was aswome! Then later i wanted to get the game but they didnt have it funcoland (gamestop)and wario land didnt come out yet (not even a gba, i was like 9 when this happened and im 12 now) an i had a blast when buying a used copy of this game! it has awsome graphics and the only thing wario land 4 beats this game on is the music but they both have cool music an i may have liked this the most over 1 but i hate the insanly difficult golf thing! it drives me mad! i beat all wario land games (my friend has 1 an 2 an i have 3 an 4 lol) an ya they are all great so even if u only have 1 warioland game an cant possibly get the others, just have fun with it!

    Pros.

    Perdy visuals
    fun puzzles
    immortal
longer than other warioland games (when u get ALL treasures)
    turn into different stuff
    fun replay
story easy to understand whether you have the instructions guide or not an story has fun twists (you will NEVER guess who the last boss is)

    CONS

hard golf mini game can drive any player crazy
collecting all treasures is fun to do again an again (bring on the road/planetrips)
    ...

Get this game wether u played a wario land game or not end of story!

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER!!
This is an awesome game. I do not own it but I have played my friends game. If you are looking for a fun and challenging game then you should get Wario Land 3. Even though I do not own the game, I am going to buy it soon. This is one of the best video games ever and you should definetly get it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Weakest link...
The concept of making Wario immortal was, in my opinion, a stroke of genius, and handled flawlessly in Warioland 2. In this game, however, it wears thin very quickly, especially in the Boss battles, where one hit is often enough to send Wario flying off the screen, making it almost impossible to beat any given boss in less then seven tries.

The game's level design must've looked good on paper, but is very poorly executed. You must go through each stage four or five times to find all the keys, chests and tresaures. Time of day is factored as well, and after finding a tresure almost every stage in the game is radically changed. For example, find the seeds in one level, and now there are huge vines growing everywhere in the levels you've already completed, allowing access to new areas and items. It can get very repetitives very quickly.

Also, for some reason, Warioland 3 has the worst graphics of the series. The first game even looks better. Backgrounds are almost nonexistant, textures are bland, and, although this game was the first made specifically for the Game Boy Color, Wario is made up of only two colors. Huh?

On top of all of this, you must track down your abilities, which Wario seems to have lost since the end of the last game. While this system worked wonders in Metroid Fusion, it's tedious and unnecissary in this game, the weakest of the otherwise outstanding Wario series. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Trying to get Donkey Kong Country onto Game Boy must have beensomething like trying to force a gorilla into a banana suit. Yes, it must havebeen quite a hairy experience for the folks at Rare; but, somehow, some way, they pulled it off.

The Game Boy version of DKC isn't as colorful as the Super Nintendoversion, and the sound quality takes a big hit, but the fun of the originalaction title remains.

Players will spend hours bouncing and swinging through levels, and looking forbananas and hidden minigames that can be opened up by pounding the ground andthrowing TNT into walls. There's also a bit of fast-paced mine-car riding, andplayers can switch between Donkey and the scrawnier Diddy when they lumberthrough levels.

One problem with the translation is quirky hit detection. In other words, players might think that they jumped on an enemy's head properly, but end updying anyway. This is a small price to pay for so much Nintendo goodness in aportable package. --Robb Guido

    Pros:

    • Near-perfect replica of the original Super Nintendo classic
    • Two bonus minigames--new to this version
    Cons:
    • Lesser-quality graphics and sound, compared to Super Nintendo version

5-0 out of 5 stars GBC DK Country
It's kinda easy, but great graphics for a Game Boy Color game! It has music that it's so good, if you don't play in months, you'll hear the sound of DK Country. Mainpoint: GET IT! Since none are here, go to the Computer & Video Games area of Amazon and get it there!

2-0 out of 5 stars I regret it...
I should have waited for the GBA version. Some musics are changed, controls are harder, graphics horribles and the gameplay is a little bit... gay. Too easy to die. I'll probably buy the GBA version if its price become lower.

    Dragon Warrior III
Average Customer Review: 5.0 out of 5 stars
    Game Cartridge (20 July, 2001)

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System, DragonWarrior III is a Game Boy Color port of one of the all-time classicrole-playing games. The game reunites two of Japan's greatest RPG talents in YujiHorii (story and game) and Akira Toriyama (character design). Toriyama is alsoknown as the creator of the immensely popular Dragon Ball cartoons and comics. Aprequel to the first two games in the series, DWIII casts you as thechild of a great hero who must defeat an evil demon. New additions to the portinclude improved graphics, new minigames, new items, and a better translation ofthe original Japanese dialogue.

The game starts off with a personality test that loosely determines how othercharacters will react to you. Gameplay is standard RPG fare: exploring, buildingexperience levels, acquiring allies, gaining weapons, and ultimately going aftera large monster. There are some interesting minigames to mix things up. TheMonster Medals feature adds a collectible aspect to the game. Monsters may leavemedals behind after you defeat them. Some monsters only appear during certaintimes of the day. Getting all the medals unlocks a secret dungeon. You can trademedals via link cable to make things easier. Most RPG fans will love this game, but those raised on modern RPGs might find its combat a bit tedious. This gameis compatible with Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance only. --Raymond M.Padilla

    Pros:

    • Classic gameplay
    • Excellent monster and character design
    • Between 40 to 60 hours of play
    Cons:
    • Battles can get repetitive
    • A few character classes borderline on useless
    • Graphics appear dark on Game Boy Advance

5-0 out of 5 stars Will be that is the difference of each culture?
I am surprised to the opinions that there are some game users that do not like Dragon warrior(Japanese game title:Dragon Quest). Neddless to say, in Japan the most famouse and high quality and great story games are Final Fantasy series and this Dragon Warior series. FF series may be a little high level on the CG. But even now DG warrior series get high value from the broad game users in Japan.

Concretly, the music, graphic and story is that. The person that have made the DW music is Kouichi Sugiyama. He was once a member of Japan popular band Garo. And he knew about classical music very much too. He be active as a conducter of DA musical orchestra even now. His high level and nostalgic music sence have gotten many Japanese geme user hearts. For instance, the field music or battle music are that. The music characters are not always this 7 only, all the DW series will be that.

Secondly, the monster character drawing is Akira Toriyama. Needless to say, he was the maker of the most popular Japanese anime, Dragon Ball. He had gotten the fan by this anime before DW. His making picture is very cute and in other case is terrible. It was a great creater that could draw the both way. In additon to, he have the scence that get children hearts, and lead the nostalgy of adults even.

Thirdly, the story, that is, Yuuji Horii is that. the first DW series was reliesed before about 20 years by Nintendou Family Computer. I was a game user that bought the DW1. I was very surprised the story in that time even, that is, the combination story of Japanese historical story and old Europ knight story. Though it was the story that I had not experienced, I felt the nostargy.

By above three points mainly, I recommend the DW series rather than FF series. But when I read the U.S.A reviewers on this site, I knew that there are game users who do not like DW series compared with Japanese users. I am afraid a little, but I understood what the difference might be the culture difference in the both countries. In fact, recently FF series have made in Hawai, U.S.A, on the other hands, DW series have made in Japan only. FF maker, Square company may be consiouse of U.S.A commercial market.

But I think that the soft that can feel the truth Japan game mind will be DW series. DW series is what have been collected long Japanese history, animation, pop music etc.
If you are DW fans, may be true Japanese culture fans at the same time.

Thank you for my poor writing. and sorry for the spell miss.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Classic Game in an Under-Appreciated Series.
First off, let it be known that I have played the initial release of this game when it was on the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). It was the first truely great RPG I have ever had the fortune to play, keeping in mind that I'd played Dragon Warrior 1 before that (not a fan of 1 vs 1 combat) and that I don't really consider Legend of Zelda an RPG (Action/Adventure in my book). The game was long, fun, and an amazingly deep in story for a game that old.Only problem is it was a rental and I didn't get to finish it (I was on the last battle too).

    Fast forward 11 years...

I bought a copy of this game on Amazon.com Marketplace for the GBC, since I knew I'd enjoy it again. That was truer than I expected.

The core gameplay is all here, so any fans of the NES version will love this one as much, if not more.Like most Japanese RPGs, the combat is turn-based and consists of standard fantasy elements.Swords, magic, and several monsters to fight (including the well known slimes, who always feel the need to grin despite the fact that you'll run them through). What amazes me is the amount of tactics involved in battles compared to other recent RPGs, such as the Final Fantasy games. The FF games rarely give you a run for your money in standard fight (perhaps with the exception of FF4), but with DW3 almost any battle has the potential to go horribly wrong, making you struggle to win. Most notable is when status effects are involved.Sometimes you'll find that your entire party has been put to sleep by a spell, or someone can be paralyzed, or a monster will boost their defense. Each of these has a counter, but sometimes you'll run into the bad luck of having it happen to the wrong person or that you didn't plan ahead of time with the right items to remove the effect.Running is always an option, but you take your chances with this, as a failed run will leave you open to more damage.

The graphics are much improved. This is the first game in the series I've seen with animated sprites for the enemies, and those are amazingly fluid. The rest of the graphics are improved as well, and make it seem almost SNES quality at times. The amount of items is greatly expanded, and item management is a lot easier thanks to a bag shared by the party that you can put everything in (you won't have access to those items during combat, though).Plus, there are several bonus touches, like a mini-game called Pachisi where you can earn bonus items (and most of them are pretty good items at that, like weapons), as well as two bonus dungeons, though unlocking the second one is a rather painful process requiring you to collect 144 unique monster medals... and those rarely appear after finishing of a monster.

If you've never heard of the series, and you're a fan of turn-based battles, this game is certainly a worthy introduction to the series. You'll wonder why this game series hasn't gotten huge sales numbers anywhere except Japan.Even more so if you've had the chance to play DWIV

5-0 out of 5 stars A True Classic, and Alot of Game for the Price
For those gamers that were fortunate enough to have played Dragon Warrior III on the NES, this will be just a reiteration of what you already know - this game rocks.

Even in the face of today's modern graphics and effects, the scope, storyline, and gameplay of Dragon Warrior III still stand strong. The characters can be customized in numerous areas, and even retrained if they aren't working out - you can take your Lvl 40 fighter and make him a wizard, or let your cleric train as a merchant. The number of sidequests and the evolution of certain areas is impressive, and will give you 60+ hours of things to do.Best of all, the fighting system is so simple that even a novice can start playing and get hooked immediately.

This game gets my highest possible recommendation. For a fraction of the cost of a Final Fantasy game, you can get a game that will give you more enjoyment for a longer period of time. ... Read more

Ok, Men in black is...well...ok. Not the greatest game in my collection, but still not the worst either. It doesn't have very good graphics, and the sound quality isn't the best either. Control is suprisingly good, and replay is not much boring as the first time. Overall, it's OK.

    Editorial Review

One of two new Zelda games for the Game Boy Color, TheLegend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages is geared towards the cerebralgamer, with its heavy focus on puzzle solving. The Triforce has alertedLink to trouble in the land of Labrynna, where the evil sorceress Veranhas possessed Nayru, the Oracle of Ages. Veran travels back in time, setting up events that lead to a world where evil dominates. It's up toyou to help Link stop Veran and set things straight.

Game mechanics and menus are similar to those found inLink'sAwakening, also for the Game Boy. As in almost every Zeldagame, you have to traverse eight dungeons and find eight key items. Theharp of time is vital to your quest--it's required to manipulate eventsand stop Veran's rewriting of history.

Although this game is extremely enjoyable on its own, you'll want touse it in conjunction with its sister title:Oracle ofSeasons. After you complete one game, you'll be given apassword that lets you begin with all your items, statistics, andprogress intact in the other. Certain characters will appear only byplaying both games. By using a link cable, players can trade items.Game Boy Advance users will find a store that's exclusive to them.

While this is an excellent game, it might be too complicated foryounger gamers or those looking for mindless fun. --Raymond M.Padilla

    Pros:

    • Dozens of crafty puzzles
    • Great as a standalone; outstanding in conjunction with its sistergame
    • Nice bonuses for Game Boy Advance owners
    Cons:
    • Lots of reused sound effects from previous Zelda games
    • Longtime gamers might find the story and level design contrived

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game ever
This game is awesome beyond all of the zelda series. It has a excellent story line and is perfect,.

5-0 out of 5 stars Legend of Zelda:Oracle of Ages.......
One thing I absolutely despise about alot of Gameboy games, anymore, is how you have to buy them in twos just to be able to finish them. Such is the case with Legend of Zelda:Oracle of Ages & Oracle Seasons.Originally planned as a trilogy, this two-part adventure is exceptionally good which is why I highly recommend that you add them to your collection.
It all begins in Oracle of Ages. Veran(The Sorceress of Shadows) kidnaps Nayru(The Oracle of Ages). Because Link feels directly responsible for her kidnapping(as you find out while playing the game), he sets out to find her and save her. With the Harp of Ages, he travels between the past and present meeting familiar faces (some of which you'll recognize from Ocarina of Time)in his effort to make things right. That's when the storyline deepens and the fun truly begins. Rest assured, though, he's not alone in this one. Along the way, he enlists the help of Moosh, Dimitri, and Ricky.
Out of two games, in my opinion- this is the harder game of the two...but the most rewarding. I think Capcom did an outstanding job with their first effort in the Zelda series and I hope Nintendo continue to let them develop future installments for the Gameboy and the Gameboy Advance.
Again, I highly recommend you add these games to your collection. They're awesome.

4-0 out of 5 stars The series just get better with every new game!!!!
I like Ages because it has lots of puzzles. I love puzzles better than fighting, so I chose this game as a favorite beacuse the storyline is really clear and has great sounds and graphics. I'm not saying Seasons is bad, though. The best part in when you link up, because you really get more out of your games. I would recommend Ages to anyone that loves puzzles. ... Read more

Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 so now i am going to search the web to buy it...If youre a gameboy lover this game is a very, very huge must...

Dragon Warrior Monsters (2000.) The first game in the Dragon Warrior Monsters series.

Over the years, the Dragon Warrior series has been one of the finest RPG series out there. Perhaps one of the greatest things about the series is the sheer variety of monsters that you get to fight against. At long last, we are given a way to control those ever-so-cool monsters! For this entry in the Dragon Warrior series, the series ventures into Pokemon-esque territory. Read on for my review of Dragon Warrior Monsters.

    PROS:
-THERE ARE TONS OF MONSTERS, AND A TON OF DIVERSITY BETWEEN THEM ALL. The monsters in this game fall into many different species, and no two monsters are exactly alike. The total number of monsters in this game dwarfs that of the early Pokemon games.
-THE GAME FEATURES CHARACTERS/MONSTERS/ETC. DESIGNED BY AKIRA TORIYAMA, OF DRAGON BALL FAME. Akira Toriyama is a creative genius, and his creations in this game stand as solid proof of it.
-CATCHY MUSIC AND GRAPHICS. The music is diverse enough to always fit the mood of the location that you're currently exploring, and the graphics are cool enough to draw in older gamers, while at the same time, cute enough to draw in younger gamers.
-YOU CAN BREED MONSTERS. In this game, you can get a male and female monster together and have them give birth to a new monster altogether! This is one of the greatest features of the game, period.
-THE LAYOUTS OF THE MONSTER WORLDS ARE RANDOMLY GENERATED. This means that almost every time that you go into one of the monster worlds, you're going to be in for somewhat of a surprise. This will keep you coming back to the worlds rather frequently.
-MUCH MORE OF A "TRADITIONAL RPG" FEEL THAN OTHER MONSTER-ORIENTED GAMES. The best way to describe the overall atmosphere of this game would be "Dragon Warrior meets Pokemon", and that's a good thing. You've really got to play the game to appreciate it.
-LOTS OF HIDDEN STUFF. In addition to the standard levels that you can go to, there are many hidden ones that you can unlock, as well, by performing certain tasks.

    CONS:
-WHEN YOU BREED MONSTERS, THE MONSTERS YOU USED TO CREATE THE EGG ARE GONE FOR GOOD. Admittingly, this isn't that big of a deal, but it's bound to frustrate younger, inexperienced players.
-THERE IS A HUGE BUG IN THE COMBAT SYSTEM. If you assign a monster to attack a rival monster that has already been defeated, that attack just goes to waste! I thought this bug had been worked out of all the RPGs of today. Apparently I was wrong.
-IF YOU DIE, YOU LOSE ALMOST ALL OF YOUR ITEMS. This can become frustrating when you've accumulated a good deal of recovery items, or found a lot of items in the Monster World that you wish to sell for a profit.
-THE COVER ART IS TERRIBLE! While the original Japanese version of the game featured awesome cover art by none other than Akira Toriyama himself, the American version of the game features a rather poor piece of three-dimensional artwork that looks more like it belongs in a candy bar commercial.

    OVERALL:
Overall this is a damn good game, despite a few minor flaws. Is it a Pokemon rip-off? No. It's something more than that, and you've got to play it to appreciate it. The Dragon Warrior series usually features nothing but excellent games, and this is no exception. Got a Game Boy? Don't even think about passing this game by if you're an RPG fan.

4-0 out of 5 stars toooooooooooooo easy
Although this game is one of my favorite of all time(despite the horrible grapics outside of battle)it was just too easy. At least in dwm2 you had a hard time after completing the regular quest. After starry night in this game it was simply going through warpholes and beating bosses. I beat starry night, the master monster tamer, beat every warphole and got watabou all in under 25 hours. Let me gove every body a hint breed breed breed until you can get a Goldslime and a Jamyrus throw in any other monster and then go to the slime warp got to warp 25 and beat on metabbles you get 22,000 experience per its too easy easy easy easy. ... Editorial Review

Pokémon Crystal is to Pokémon Gold and Silver what Pokémon Yellow is toPokémon Red and Blue. It features severalminor upgrades from its predecessors, but in essence it's still the same game. The classic Pokémon formula of adventuring, collecting, and battling isat a series best with Crystal. This is one of the best and most addictiverole-playing games for the Game Boy Color.

The most notable feature is theselectable female trainer who has her own set of animations and backgrounds. This is a great option for female Pokémon fans who were previously stuckplaying the game as a male character. There are also subtle improvements to thecell phone system, HM moves, and prebattle animations. Rival trainers' phonecalls are now more plentiful and pragmatic. HM moves, which are requiredthroughout the game, are available at the push of a button--you'll no longerhave to navigate menus to use these moves. Lastly, seeing a Pokémon's newanimation makes encountering new creatures more fun than before.

If youhaven't played Gold or Silver yet, Crystal is definitelythe way to go. If you've played those previous games, Crystal has onlyenough new features to justify a purchase from Pokémon fanatics. Thisgame is compatible with the link cable, Game Boy printer, and PokémonPikachu 2. It's playable on Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance only, and can beplayed on a television using Pokémon Stadium 2 and a Transfer Pak.--Raymond M. Padilla

    Pros:

    • New female trainer
    • Prebattle animations are cute
    • Lots of subtle improvements
    Cons:
    • Too similar to Gold and Silver
    • Mobile phone features not in the U.S. version

5-0 out of 5 stars Crystal ?, You betcha!
After the new gold and silver, Pokemon Crystal might be one of the greatest games Pokemon created. Unlike all of the revisions and new versions of Pokemon, You might want something better. What crystal allows you to do is that it is the only game to capture 90-95% of johto Pokemon wild.More things is that crystal was the first pokemon game that allows you to choose if you are a boy or a girl. You can make Pokemon hold items. You can also play in real time. After 150 Pokemon, you might think there is more. Well there is!! Crystal also includes 2 dirfferent types of Pokemon, steel and Dark. It was also the first to have these types. Bad things about crystal also means it seem to be a long game that might take forever! But can you handel 16 gym leaders through the game? However, the greatest thing Crystal can do is that you can get legendary Pokemon before the game. the badest thing for crystal is that you need to trade 27 out of 250 poke'mon. That's the number doubled of red blue or yellow!!

In all, this is a great game for long trips inside a airplane or a car.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is really Awesome!
I like the crystal, gold, and silver line better than all the rest of the pokemon games. 1.) you have to get 16 badges, which include Jhoto, the new world and Kanto, the old world. Kanto is 4x harder too. 2) no more annoying legendary birds! 3.) eevee gets 2 new evolutions, Espeon (the best one) and Umbreon (the average one.) you can be a girl too!

5-0 out of 5 stars My All Time Favorite
For people who have started to read my reviews I am a all time gamer, and this is my all time favorite game. This game is LOADED with stuff to do, figure out puzzles, capture pokemon, win battles and more! Here are the good and bad in my opinion:
    Good
-Loaded with stuff takes a while to play (a good thing)
-So many pokemon to catch and raise
-The battles bring out the true trainer in you
-The pokemon now make noises and move when summoned
    -You can choose gender
    Bad
-Sometimes you can get very stuck
-Some of the puzzles need the game guide to figure out in my opinion
-The graphics aren't as good nowdays
Note that all the pokemon games are good and that I think this game appeals to all ages. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A monster of a game
Godzilla is a game like the railed shooters on PCs. the game basically has you playing a Godzilla. You have no control over godzilla's movements as he walks on his own free will...sideways. You get to control his tail to attack, his head to breath fire and bite, his paws to take cover and to swipe with his pwas and his legs to thump the ground and cause a shockwave destroying everthing near him. Well if you are stiil reading this review then you will have guessed by now the nature of the game. If you find this kind ofgameplay to be your idea of fun then you are welcome. Though I was apprehensive about the game at first but i got to know the finer points of this game. This game is too short though as it can be finished under 5 hours. The graphics are great for a color gameboy system and the sounds are well mediocre. The gameplay is quite easy and most beginners will be able to finish this game. Overall I give it 4 stars out of 5.

5-0 out of 5 stars Godzilla is great!
Someone is messing with Godzilla's brain,so he is going to mess with them.In this game you battle through six levels of action-packed adventure.I loved fighting machines and monsters.

4-0 out of 5 stars OK, but too easy
This was my first godzilla game. It was OK at first, but it just got duller and duller and duller...Besides, it's way too easy to beat. I've beaten it like 20 times now I think this week. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this, but rather purchase Monster Wars instead. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

One of the best things about the Game Boy Color is that it'sbasically an original Nintendo Entertainment System that can fit inyour pocket. What this means for gamers is that many of the great gamesfor the classic system are being ported to the Game Boy Color, givingus a chance to re-play (or in some cases discover) the best game titlesfrom the '80s.

Nintendo's own Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is among the first ofthese conversions, and it certainly remains one of the best. Actually, calling this game a conversion really doesn't do it justice. Thisversion actually contains more levels than the original game, includingthe entire Japanese version and a slew of extras (such as a two-playermode).

The controls in this game are easy to grasp--even for novice gamers. All Mario can do is jump (and shoot fireballs with the right power- ups), but it is amazing to see how much gameplay can be squeezed fromthese simple actions when the controls work in direct harmony with aplayer's thoughts. The only element of this game that could have beenbetter is that the Game Boy Color's screen isn't quite large enough toshow the entire layout of the original game screen, so players mayoccasionally need to press up and down on the control pad to see someoffscreen action. While this can be distracting, it ultimately hasminimal impact on gameplay. If you are looking for the quintessentialside-scrolling platform game, you can't do much better than SuperMario Bros. Deluxe. --T. Byrl Baker

    • Classic side-scrolling action gameplay

5-0 out of 5 stars Momma mia, what a come back!!!!!!
I was a vivid gamer back in the day, and Mario was always one of my all time favorites. I have long since moved away from the video game scene, but now and then I play the classics on the PC. And when I played this version, I was amazed at how great it had been revived to the GBA. The graphics are the same, the gameplay is the same, the sound is the same, but there is new extras and bonus stuff, a pathway to choose, multi player ect.. I have to say this is the best Mario Bros. (1) game ever! Even better then Mario All Stars (snes) version!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars the best
i had this game and its great i love the fact that it is exactly the same except for the fact that instead of 3 lives you start out with 5 and when you die you are asked if you would like to continue or start over. two great pros to the classic game which make it even better. also the new levels are challenging but great. i lost my copy of this game a fewyears and now i cant find it anywhere! :'(

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Mario Bros. Deluxe - A True Classic
Super Mario Deluxe was my first Gameboy game ever.It was my first video game ever.It was my best video game ever.Even after buying 16 other Gameboy Color and Advance Games, this is still one of my favorites.
I know what you are thinking: This is a Gameboy Color game!It must have horrible graphics and ridiculously simple gameplay.Well, you are wrong.Yes, it is a Gameboy Color game.Yes, I bought it 2000.But, it is a great game. The graphics are blocky (What do you expect from a Gameboy Color game?) but still pretty good, and the gameplay is anything but simple.
You play as Mario, and you have to collect gold coins, jump on enemies, and save Princess Toadstool, more commonly known as Princess Peach. Once you complete every level in Regular Mode, you have to go through the same levels again as Star Levels. They do have minor changes to make them harder, such as replacing Goombas with Buzzy Beetles, but they are pretty much the same as their regular counterparts. Also, as you complete each level in Regular Mode, it becomes available in Challenge Mode. When you complete a certain amount of the game, the You Vs. Boo Racing Option becomes available. (You can also race against a friend via a link cable.)After you complete more of the game, the Super Mario Bros. 2 Option becomes available. But, that is still not all.You get a table of ten high scores that you can combine with a friend's table. You unlock pictures for your photo albums and other features that can be printed with a Gameboy Printer (which hardly anyone has) and you can tell your fortune and record important events on a daily calendar.Whew, that's a lot of features!
As you can see, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is a very complex game.It took me two months to complete the Regular and Challenge Modes alone, and I haven't fully completed any of the other modes.Super Mario Bros. Deluxe never gets old, though. When I brought it to school in 2003, four or five kids were swarming around me asking to play it, more people than were ever asking to play a Gameboy Advance SP game all at once.I have summarized my review in the following list of pros and cons:

    Pros:

It has tons of different features and modes.
It takes a very long time to fully complete.
Even after you beat the game, it never gets old.

    Cons:

    It has blocky graphics.
Many of the features require a Gameboy Printer, which not many people have. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Excellent game
I found this game to be almost as enjoyable as the first Tomb Raider game for Gameboy Colour. The action was plentiful, and there were some interesting puzzles to work through in the process of getting through the game.
I have only given it three stars though for two particular reasons.
Firstly, I found it irritating that little prompts kept popping up throughout the game whenever Lara approached an item or a doorway. Perhaps others have found this helpful - I expect it would be to anyone for whom this was their first experience with a Tomb Raider game.
Secondly, and most major: I encountered a major glitch during the sequence when Lara was on the speeding train. Once the train started moving, and Lara begins making her way to the front, you will come across a save diamond. I used this the first time I played the game, and when I had to restart the game due to crashing and burning (I think I actually decapitated Lara that time round), I discovered the graphics were all warped. I don't mean that they were illegible. The graphics appear normal - until Lara starts running across empty spaces, and falls through holes where there doesn't appear to be any holes. You jump her across what you think is the gap between carriages, only to have her fall through an apparently non-existent hole and die.
No matter what I did I could not fix the problem, and I could not reach the front of the train to complete the sequence. Ultimately I had to start over from the beginning again.
I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem, but to play it safe, use the last available save diamond before talking to the old man and getting on the train. Do not use the diamond that is on the train itself.
That aside, there is a wonderful assortment of scenery in the game. It starts off in a museum, which Lara must escape from in order to pursue the thieves.
From there, after 'defeating' a mini boss on the rooftops of New York, she must negotiate an underground maze of rail tunnels, and then make her way through two hazardous warehouses on the wharf, find her way into an underwater lab filled with zombies and collect and charge all the batteries she needs to operate a mini-sub, which she must negotiate through a dangerous maze underwater. (Hint, save as many of your health packs as you can for this part - you're going to need them)
From this last section, you will jump to the last scenes of the game, set on a distant island.
Some may feel that the final boss is something of a let down compared to the rest of the game, but it all depends on your point of view. It was extraordinarily easy to defeat the boss, but the real fun was in getting to that final battle, not in the battle itself.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tomb Raider
This is one of my favorite games. You start out trying to get from room to room, looking for your gun. There's limited places to go without your gun, because you are not able to get buy the police. This game is perfect with the difficulty levels-they are not to hard and not to easy. I highly recommend this game.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good game!
There should be more games like this, what would be great is if they improved the graphics and made it for GBA. I actually got this when I got my GBA. It is really fun, and not too hard to figure out. This is especially recommended to any Tomb Raider fans. Plus, I got this for a pretty good price.
    Pros:
    1) Pretty good price (used anyway)
    2) Lots of puzzles, not to easy nor to hard to figure out
    3) People with GBC still can play it
    4) Fairly good graphics
    Cons:
    1) Some controls are difficult
    2) Only one slot for one saved game
    3) Some people may get bored early in the game ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Spiderman Game Boy
my 12 year old son bought this with Christmas money. He loves the game and it has renewed his interest in his 3 yr. old Game Boy....wanted to get Game Boy advance but we discouraged.Great seller, fast transaction

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as bad as one would think
Before Spider-Man became a box office smash and became everyone's favorite hero, Activision changed the way super hero licensed video games would be by releasing the surprisingly great Spider-Man games for the PS1, N64, and Dreamcast.Eventually a GameBoy Color version would be released, and while it's nowhere near anything great, it is surprisingly solid and challenging. The graphics are typical 8-bit side scroller fare, but are colorful and well animated.Controls are simple and the enemies (especially Venom) are very challenging. This game is also surprising in the fact that it is more solidly realized than any other 8-bit or 16-bit home console game that was nothing more than a repetitive beat 'em up with a comic license attached to it.All in all, those who only have a GameBoy Color and are fans of the web head should give this a whirl.

4-0 out of 5 stars The best Gameboy colour game.
It is too hard but it is still miles ahead of anything else on the Gameboy colour. I am not that good at hanhelds but I manged to get pretty far in the game and I have beaten Venom, The Lizard, Hobgoblin and Venom again. I am now fighting Venom a 3rd time and have found I can't beat him. The birdds are also pesky too. But it helps that the better you play the more points you get which gives special moves which makes fighting a hell of a lot easier. I have had a lot of fun with this game and as soon as I learn how to beat Venom again I will no doubt have more fun with it. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

While it's basically the same game as the previously released Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue,Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition features enhancements thatmake it the best version yet. In all three versions, the player is on a quest tobecome the World's Greatest Pokémon Trainer, with exploration andPokémon battles (think advanced paper-scissors-rock) factoring heavilyinto the gameplay. While the game world is the same in all three versions, thePokémon you encounter vary from version to version; the underlying goalof collecting all 151 Pokémon can only be met by trading Pokémonvia Link Cable with anotherplayer with a different Pokémon version. (Players can also battle againstone another using the Link Cable setup.)

Pokémon Yellow follows the TV cartoon series more closely than theother versions. Your first Pokémon in Yellow is Pikachu, and hetravels alongside you as opposed to inside a Pokéball (like mostPokémon). Pikachu's mood can be displayed virtual pet style: keepinghim happy is important, as his mood affects certain events in the game. Inaddition to the inclusion of other TV show elements like Team Rocket, new battlemodes between players are available as well as a secret game called Pikachu'sBeach.

If you haven't played any of the Pokémon games before,Pokémon Yellow is the best place to start. But whilePokémaniacs will go gaga over Yellow's new features, lessenthusiastic veterans of Red and Blue may not find the extras tobe quite so special. --Joe Hon

    Pros:

    • Best version yet of the highly addictive Pokémon game
    • Pikachu's moods raise the game's cuteness bar to an all-new level
    • Features new battle modes between players
    • Includes Pikachu's Beach secret game
    Cons:
    • Pokémon battles can be repetitive at times
    • New features may not be enough for some Pokémon veterans

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Game!
For whoever it was that asked about the difference between the colors, Red, Blue, and Yellow are exactly the same except that some Pokemon are available only in whichever version you get. Gold and Silver are completely different adventures, and they also have no differences except for the Pokemon. Crystal is the same as Gold and Silver except BETTER! :) Ruby, Sapphire, and, I suppose, Emerald have the same rule.

As for my review for this game, it's excellent! Even at my age, I have fun playing all the Pokemon games, especially this game, and I must tell you, it never gets boring! Every game is different, and each time you discover something new! I highly recommend this game, and the others!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pokemon Yellow Rocks!
Pokemon Yellow is my best game yet! It's a challenging game, with 8 awesome gym leaders, your rival, (You can name him in the begining of the game) and Prof.Oak! (who will give you a bulbasaur, charmander,or squirtle at the start) All of this put together makes one mind-blowing game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Yellow: the best game of the Poke'mon Saga
These are some great things about Yellow:

1: You can get all of the 3 starting Poke'mon.

2: You can get a Machoke from an in-game trade, but it evoloves to a Machamp after you trade with a girl in Route 5

3: Dragoniar, Pidgeiotto and Venomoth are some of the wild poke'mon you'll find.

4: Cathing both Scyther and Pinsir or Arcainine and Ninetales will be a snap.

    Bad things about Yellow:

1: 13 Poke'mon you'll have to trade from Red or Blue.

2: Gym leader's poke'mon are at higher levels.

3: Barely there is any poision types that are wild.

    4: Not much In-game trading.

Overall: 4 and a half stars
