4-0 out of 5 stars IWD1 does in fact run in XP.I'm playing a game of it now.
The reviewer below must have some other conflict with the game, because I am currently running a game of IWD1 with Windows XP as I make this post.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really hits the spot
Besides Baldur's Gate II, Icewide Dale is the second most fun CRPG game out there.More action than role playing, which is fine with me.
5-0 out of 5 stars Icewind Dale RPG
This game is great for those that enjoy role playing games. There is a lot of reading involved but it adds to the story.

5-0 out of 5 stars Played it for years until the hackers killed battle.net
The original Diablo was ground breaking and a hell of a lot of fun. D2 took all of the great features of Diablo and then expanded both the universe, the story and the game play. If you want to disappear for a time - head for this world - you'll love it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Blizzard's sequel may just be the most addictive roleplaying game ever
The original "Diablo" came along at a time when the CRPG market was in dire straits. The game breathed fresh life into the genre and created an unparalleled accessibility that made it very easy to pick up play. Using the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" formula, the sequel follows along the lines of the original, and expands it into a bigger and better game.
5-0 out of 5 stars Oh my... so many complaints... should I buy?
I have gathered from the reviews, lots of people love it; lots of people hate it. I am not much of a gamer, but this is the best game I have ever played, period. The gameplay, the fun, the challenge...what more should a game have? A few words on the complainers...

4-0 out of 5 stars Blizzard does it again
Diablo 2 is brilliantly fun, especially for multiplayer. There is a surprising amount of variability between characters. The game is great and I'm glad I bought it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Mostly technical
It's a great game! I started with the original Diablo in the 90's but just got back into Diablo II after playing it at a relative's house. She had the Expansion Pack so I got that, and it's much better than Diablo II alone. I'm only on the 2nd set so I'm not very good yet, and the other reviewers have been very helpful. I did notice one thing: in Diablo II you can copy the play CD, which I did to protect the original, since you have to leave that in your CD drive to play. In the expansion There is only one CD and you need to leave it in your drive instead on the Diablo II play CD. You can copy the CD, and all the files that show up on the original will be copied, but the copied CD won't work to play the game. I'm sure that's to keep people from using the same copy of the expansion on more than one computer, but it does subject the CD to wear and possible destruction. Otherwise I'm completely satisfied so far. I had one glitch: in Act 2 the computer malfunctioned and was unable to get to Canyon of the Magi because I never reached the Summoner. I found out that by saving and exiting, then going back in to the Arcane Sanctuary via the waypoint I could find and kill the Summoner and continue the game.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great game made even better with this expansion pack
Diablo II is perhaps the oldest PC game that's currently still in print, as it originally came out in 2000, and as of my speaking (2006) still being manufactured. It's one of the few still-in-print games that runs (and beautifully, by the way) on my antiquated system (to show you how antiquated my system is: it runs Riven: A Sequel to Myst beautifully, but on Myst III: Exile, many of the scenes are fine, but many of the animated sequences tend to be shaky, and it won't run Myst IV: Revelation, because it's far too slow and don't have the proper video card). That's probably also the beauty of Diablo II, you don't need the newest, fanciest computer with a 2GHz processor and the latest video card to play it. This is a truly wonderful, slash-em up adventure game certainly to please anyone of this genre. But the original Diablo II was not without its drawbacks. For example, what's the use in hiring a mercenary if they get killed almost before you get a chance to use them? Why can't you bring your mercenary back to life? Or why do you have to place your socketed weapon or armor in your inventory to place your gems, jewels and skulls in them, when you should be able to do it while still equipped? Well, this Lord of Destruction expansion pack fixes these problems, and so much more! Not only now is your mercenary much more useful, but they can be resurrected (at a certain price), you got new weapons and armor, you have two new characters to choose from (an assassin or druid), new charms, runes, etc. I also love how your stash now has been doubled, so you can put in twice as many weapons, armor, potions, etc. as before. But there are certain weapons and armor that can only be used by certain characters, and if you're playing the one player feature, you can sell these weapons and armor you can't use because of character incompatibility for more gold. And best of all, you have a whole new quest after you finish killing off Diablo! Plus you can have higher resolution so you can see more of your surroundings. Remember: you have to have the original Diablo II in order to use this expansion pack, of course. I really think this expansion pack is essential, it gets rids of a lot of the drawbacks, making the game even more exciting. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars A diversion but nothing more
This game is fun enough for one time through. It has some funny moments, and the girls are looking notably better than the girls in Leisure Suit Larry 1 ;)
2-0 out of 5 stars Not what I was expecting.
This game is nothing like the old style Larry games.Mini games distracts from the main goal of the game.It wasn't what I thought.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game.....not so great controllers
This is one of the funniest games I haver played and would recomend it to anyone with a sense of humor and open minded about sex issues because that is what the game is about, teen sex.....But they really blew it with the controlo designs. Some of the mini games are almost impossible due to this. That issue set aside, I just love this game. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Icewind Dale II
A pretty good rpg game Not as good as Baldurs Gate 2 But still a good game Considering it's age and that it can be purchased rather cheaply It is well worth 10 bucks :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Loads of Fun
I am having a great time playing this game. I play it almost all day. I like the fact you get to choose your own people to play. I get to arrange the different people to my best estimate of a challenging game.

3-0 out of 5 stars Could be a lot funner.
Playing Icewind Dale II reminds me of all of those novels written by American authors in the late 19th century. Though many of the novels were very well written, they never seemed to suck me in and continue reading the book. Icewind Dale II is like that. It looks nice, it supposedly improves gameplay, and it gives the player more character creation options, but I just don't really want to play it. Why? Well, at the end of the day, it seems as if Icewind Dale II is hurt by a extremely corny story; it is bogged down in numerous irrelevent puzzles involving you running around constantly; it is just not as fun as its predescessor.

3-0 out of 5 stars I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. . .
I picked this game up fairly cheap for the PC (I think I paid five bucks for it) because I had heard many good things about it.I loaded it up on my desktop computer (which is only about a year old and not that slow, after all, I had just put in a new video card) and started playing it.I loved the dialogue, the witty banter, and I was generally having a blast playing it until it started to slow waaayy down as I started moving through the game until the characters were moving so sluggishly and swinging their weapons so slowly, they all looked like they were in slow motion (like some of the other reviewers have said.)I gave up on it and took the game to my laptop, which is newer and has a faster processor. It started off at what seemed to be normal speed. The Bard was trotting across the screen and swinging his flail at a rapid pace. Then about chapter four, it started slowing down again, all the way to a point where I couldn't play it anymore. All the fun had been zapped out of it as it took a good hour to swing and chop at four wolves in the forest.Sadly, I abandoned it for the PC, even though I was having a lot of fun with it up until then.I don't understand why it has so many problems running on a PC.Everything was sluggish, like the characters were moving in molasses.I turned down all the game settings, but it didn't seem to help much.If I want to see the game all the way through, I guess I'll have to break down and get it for the Playstation.

3-0 out of 5 stars Game has features InXile hasn't marketed!!
The following is a letter I sent to programmers for "The Bard's Tale".I believe it adequately reflects my feelings for this game:
1-0 out of 5 stars Promising Game- wrecked by implementation
I was an original Bard's Tale enthusiast, and really wanted to like this game. After I got over the fact this was almost NOTHING like the original game, I just looked at it as a new game. Unfortunately, this is basically a console gamer, as others have stated. Absolutely none of a PC's capabilities were used- every house, village and dungeon has to be loaded EVERY single time. The view cannot be changed, and none of the 'standard' PC mouse/cursor interface seems implemented at all. All in all, I was very disappointed. I periodically try and revisit it again, because I DO like the humor, but it's just too painful to play. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It's as good as I remembered it!
I've played Diablo before, when it first came out.It was fun, exciting and learning the tricks to beat the game was great. As with all things - time, moving, etc - I lost my original copy and had several hard drive formats. When I went to order it anew, I found that Blizzard no longer carries/sells the single Diablo (the original game) disc.I found it here on Amazon and ordered it from NothingButSoftware. They sent it in a bubble pack, the disc in a software disc envelope, and the software, per the ad, was new.It arrived in a timely matter according to the Amazon shipping rules (4 days I believe it was) and in good condition.I highly recommend all 3 to anyone who wants Diablo, wants a good merchant, or an overall good company - Amazon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Diablo 1
I enjoy the game a lot and have for several years. It is getting harder and harder to find a copy of Diablo 1
5-0 out of 5 stars this game doesn't seem old
The story of Diablo is based on premise of a war between Heaven and Hell. The town of Tristram is under attack by demons, and the player must save the town. As the player delves into the underworld, he discovers more about the demon Diablo, through large tomes that are read aloud by the character. Eventually, the player reaches the lair of Diablo and must kill him. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I Love This Game!!
I purchased this game on a whim while actually looking for another software package totally unrelated to games.Since I am a major fan of Law and Order, I decided to try it.I waited a week or more before I had time to look at the game and from then on I was hooked.Since them, I have purchased all 3 Law and Order games and would recommend them to anyone who enjoys mystery games. This game was so engrossing that my entire family was playing it with me for hours.
4-0 out of 5 stars Many Twists and Turns
This was the first Law and Order game that I played and I enjoyed it quite a bit.It came with a bonus copy of Law and Order: Dead on the Money and I think they have made a lot of improvements in Justice is Served.Besides just looking better, I like that they have cut down the time it takes for the labs to process stuff. There are many different characters to interview and puzzles to solve along the way, and the story does have many twists.

2-0 out of 5 stars Too slow
When you get stuck and think you've done everything you need to do, there is no help button to get a clue and keep going. I got about 3/4 through it and gave up because it was too time consuming to keep trying the same old things over and over.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great 2nd Game for The L&O PC Series!!
First off, let us get the bad done with. In the courtroom, yes, there are a few flaws.. but nothing that would make me take a star off of my rating.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great plot! Some flaws, as noted previously!
The plot is quite interesting. It is very unlikely that you would find this story on tv so it was certainly more fun for gameplay. The flaws I encountered were in the courtroom.I could not complete the Q&A on about 3-4 important witnesses. The CD just spun and spun -- all I could do was indicate "done with witness".Also, I did not like the "expertise" part of the game, at the beginning, that relates to how the game operates -- the outcome of the answers to those questions is unknown at that point. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good rpg similar to Baldur's Gate 2
Arcane it is indeed with plenty of depth and a nice original setting. Have to say it's slightly flawed by not quite perfect design and balance (e.g. guns aren't much use) but overall it's a still great game. I was obsessed with it for quite a while, and the world it's set in is created in exceptional and original detail (lore). Loved bits like having combat gear and city gear and the many ways to go about quests and such, similar to Fallout by the same team. Some things were wrong but quite funny like the way the other guys in your party would suddenly attack you like mad dogs if you inadvertently caused them any damage or the way they would pick up things you dropped like newspapers (just put them in the bin). None of these were major flaws though. I also loved the way different traders would act differently and the gaining of blessing of as many gods as possible based on an arcane understanding of them. Overall a great game, if a little dated now.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite RPGs
I love Arcanum's depth. The story line is complex and open enough that you can roam about without killing the storyline (most of the time). The music and setting is a welcome change. The charcter backgrounds help round out characters nicely. Magic characters are a lot easier to use than tech characters; they sure have a lot less stuff to carry. The tech tree is a bit difficult to get used to. The Arcanum Guide is definately worth buying. It can be a bit awkward to pick items up at times, and it's possible to drop something important, and not realize you lost it until much later (when it is too late to recover the item). Arcanum is a "save often" game. I would love to see a follow on game using an engine similar to that of Neverwinter Nights. And I would like to have a lot more female races available. Overall, Arcanum is hours of fun. I've had the game for years, and still enjoy playing.

4-0 out of 5 stars Different game, lots of fun
This game is pretty different from any other RPG out there, and that makes this game quite a bit of fun.I played this game over 4 times--great replayability. ... Read more

I played and finished QG1 (back when it first came out as Hero's Quest!) to 4 upon their original release many, many years ago.
4-0 out of 5 stars Time heals all wounds
To be honest, I was quite disappointed with this game when it came out.How could you end such a great series like this?Having played through the Quest for Glory series again just now several years later, I have come to a somewhat different perspective. The game had some inescapable strikes against it from the get go, and all things considered, is a fine ending to the QfG series.5-0 out of 5 stars Glory
Quest For Glory 5: Dragon Fire is not merely the end of a great series, but the end of an era for the entertainment compant Yosemite Entertainment. As a great fan of the series, "Hero" has journeyed from the town of Spielburg to the fog-ridden lands of Mordavia, Raseir, Fricana (not in this order) - and finally the village of Silmaria.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I'd like to know who tested this game.Maybe a frozen screen is part of the game?I better not be wasting my money when I try the second version.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great First L&O PC Game!!
This started a great series of PC games, I dont watch the show very much at all, but the games are great!! It is really addicting and you get to love to play the game!! I was reading through the reviews on this game, and people are complaining about the time limit. Well, if you choose the "Efficincy" skill it will slow time WAY down to the point where you will be done with the investigation part of the game before like an hour has passed. (in game time, not real time) It has a good storyline, suspicious, annoying, lying characters with secrets to protect, and it is fun to see what suspect you will interrogate next, what lab reports, research of items and people, the survailence unit to tail a suspect, the game is really fun. And when you get into court it is really hard but really fun to play, you don't even have to like the TV show, you will like this game!!! and any other of the two L&O PC games in the series. So Buy It!! Buy Them!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Would be fun if it didn't have a time frame
There is way too much stuff to be picked up and sent all over the place for testing and researching and whatnot. Unfortunately, some witnesses are only "unlocked" after you submit the right item, so unless you're quite fast picking up stuff etc. you can't solve the case within the allotted time frame.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best MMO...ever
I have played a few MMO games, but have never really got into the whole mining again and again, or running quests everyone just tells you how to do anyway idea. I had my eye on EVE for many months before playing it but had been put off by the subscription costs because i always though i could get one payment games that were as good. But one day i thought i'd just sign up for the trial. Four months later i dont regret it! The PvP is astonishing, i've taken part in 50 v 50 ship battles and they get far larger than that. EVE is hard for new players but the very helpful community are great and really give you a helping hand. If youre worried about the subscription, just think of buying a game every 3 months, it doesnt come to any more! An excellent game i encourage anyone to try, ive played for more hours than i played BF2 for in twice the time :-D

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible Game Play, Deeply Involving and Complex
This is not a game for the twitch-based game fan.The EVE Online MMO is a deeply complex universe that provides for a wide variety of play styles. The individual player can be a pirate, a miner, a trader, a manufacturer, a researcher, a power broker, a distribution specialist, or any blend, at any time.
5-0 out of 5 stars High learning curve, but hopelessly addictive
I've been playing EVE for about 8 months now, and although the first month or so was a bit boring as I did the newbie grind mining and ratting with my starter gear, I was eventually invited into a corp, and with a small loan from the corp, I discovered my niche as an industrialist.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Bust as big as they come
This has to be one of the worst expansion pack to one of the greatest games of all time. How do I know this for a fact, because neither Blizzard or Sierra, ever mentions the expansion pack on thier website--a means to distance themselves away from it.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great expansion for a great game.
The story line is about what happens after level 16.Even though the game is quite more challenging, it really adds more adventure after an already great classical. The new weapons are awesome, with more magics and portions that really perfect the original.

3-0 out of 5 stars Diablo fans must own
If you are a hard line Diablo fan, you must get this expansion otherwize your collection would be incomplete. I dont even have to play the game to enjoy it, just knowing I can play it anytime I want is good enough. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Anticlimactic.
This has to be the most horribly produced game from Sierra I've ever played. The storyboard artists and creators must have been off their rocker. The graphics were pretty, the battles were somewhat exciting, but the delivery fell completely short. The combat and stats were horribly unbalanced, to the point where when I played the game the first time, I found it extremely difficult, and the second time I played it, it was a breeze just because I spent time levelling my characters up. The voice acting was mediocre. The story sounds promising in the beginning, especially with this series' reputation, but it finds itself to be completely anticlimactic in the end. So if you like pretty graphics and good music only in a game, pick this one up perhaps. But I'd rather just throw Lord of the Rings in my DVD player, because this is a sore excuse for a game or a story.

1-0 out of 5 stars NOTHAPPY
Wish I could write a review on Return to Krondor. But thats not what you sent me. The book Krondor the Betrayal that you sent me is green in color and looks good on my shelf. The video game in the back of the book says it has Return to Krondor and Betrayal at Krondor on it.But it doesn't. You have my money and I have your JUNK.5-0 out of 5 stars good game
good game, great battles, but ends too quick. Its funner taking your time and finding fights in the first 3 chapters and getting better and getting better gear. Dissapoining ending, last boss was way easier than he should have been. I enjoyed it for 15 bucks ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars The Fellowship of the Ring Game isn't clear
I found that this game isn't very easily understood. You have to search and scrabble for any answers that you may need. This game needs to have a page for others to view eachother's findings. That would be a help. I enjoyed the books and movies, but the game is very frustrating to understand.

4-0 out of 5 stars endless fun
In my daughter's words (age 8.5):I think this is an awsome piece of artwork that Vivendi should be very proud of,though I realized that the 2'nd hall in Moria was very confusing. It took me 1 month to figure it out. And so my sister named it 'the icky place.'But the fun continued. Fighting the balrog, slaying orcs and wargs, this is a lot of hack and slash. Although it's also a lot of puzzles and figuring out where to go and how. The graphics are great, though the characters' hair is very un-realistic, especially Aragorns.

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent game
I suppose its decent enough in itself. It follows the storyline of the books and doesn't have irritating cut-scenes from the films. But too many glitches and when i played it crashed my computer thousands of times.
