Definitely worth letting it consume your life
Iv'e been playing Warcraft games for 5 years now i started off with Warcraft 3 and its HELLA fun online DotA was definitely a great idea, then i started playing WoW (World of Warcraft) DO NOT GET IT!!!!!! dont get it if your in school, dont get it if you have a job, if you have a social life DONT GET WOW!!!!!! it will ruin your life and eat every second of your time its the most addictive thing EVER!. Awesome
This is seriously one of the best computer games that I have ever played. The game takes a lot of startegy and takes awhile to learn but once you get going it's terrific.You are given a mission or multiple missions to complete during a progress campaign to stop the Beast enemy from wiping out all who stand in their way. Playing the game at harder and harder difficulty levels makes every mission all the more challenging to complete. The graphics are incredible, especially considering that this is hardly a new game.Everything looks realistic, from the phasers and torpedoes to the ships fading in and out as they move farther away from the viewing camera.Controlling an entire battle fleet is a challenge, but the controls are easy to use and fighting battles on three or four different fronts at the same time is not difficult.This game will be a lot of fun to everyone who enjoys strategizing and engaging in massive space battles.

This is one of those games that make you feel small and insignificant.
When you start this game you wouldn't expect it to be anything to special. There aren't any big impressive intro cut-scenes, just the game makers insignias. The main menu itself has no impressive grafics, but once you click on single player the fun begins. The inro cut-scene puts you right into the game with a little history, and then a transition from a rendered scene of what is called a Hyper-space core, to an in game shot of two resource collecters latching on and transporting the core to a mothership. This is where I was suddenly swept away by this game. The shear size of the ships you can command. One of my favorites is the largest offensive ship in the fleet; the Battlecruiser. The size and capabilities of each ship is what gets me about this game. I don't even need to mention the actual gameplay itself; just look at my rating. I recommend this game to any rts fan. It's quite a change from the standard X and Y battle fields with the addition of the Z axis. Have fun gamers.

Interesting, complex, and fun game
I ordered this game after playing the demo, and I have to say it was well worth it.The storyline is interesting, the soundtrack iscool and has an egyptian/middle eastern feel to it.The graphics are excellent, so excellent that sometimes you'll find yourself just watching the war between massive fleets and storms of fighters.Also worth mentioning is the large number of cool mods out there for this game.Being a starship combat game, there are Star Wars mods (the best), Star Trek mods, and other custom mods.This game will give you plenty of hours of entertainment for its good price.It's one of the few extremely good 3-D space combat RTS games you're going to find, so if that's the experience you're looking for, you won't be dissappointed by this game. ... Classic game, well worth the $
Great game no matter what anyone says. A little dated but solid story and game to match.

Starcraft should be a classic game. It is just that good.
This should be consider one of the classics games in the game world. It has been the top 10 games for a couple of years and it is still widely played today. This package contains the original and expansion pack with strategy guides which is really good deal. This game is a strategy game which has a very awesome story line for its campaign. And if you want to get out of the RPG/MMORPG craze Starcraft is a the best strategy game to go back on. If you are debating between Starcraft and Warcraft, I have to say Starcraft would be a better choice. Starcraft requires more skill and it open lots more opportunity than warcraft with its massive number in army and units.

The original Diablo was ground breaking and a hell of a lot of fun. D2 took all of the great features of Diablo and then expanded both the universe, the story and the game play. If you want to disappear for a time - head for this world - you'll love it.

Blizzard's sequel may just be the most addictive roleplaying game ever
The original "Diablo" came along at a time when the CRPG market was in dire straits. The game breathed fresh life into the genre and created an unparalleled accessibility that made it very easy to pick up play. Using the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" formula, the sequel follows along the lines of the original, and expands it into a bigger and better game.

Blizzard does it again
Diablo 2 is brilliantly fun, especially for multiplayer.There is a surprising amount of variability between characters.The game is great and I'm glad I bought it.

Mostly technical
It's a great game! I started with the original Diablo in the 90's but just got back into Diablo II after playing it at a relative's house. She had the Expansion Pack so I got that, and it's much better than Diablo II alone. I'm only on the 2nd set so I'm not very good yet, and the other reviewers have been very helpful. I did notice one thing: in Diablo II you can copy the play CD, which I did to protect the original, since you have to leave that in your CD drive to play. In the expansion There is only one CD and you need to leave it in your drive instead on the Diablo II play CD. You can copy the CD, and all the files that show up on the original will be copied, but the copied CD won't work to play the game. I'm sure that's to keep people from using the same copy of the expansion on more than one computer, but it does subject the CD to wear and possible destruction. Otherwise I'm completely satisfied so far. I had one glitch: in Act 2 the computer malfunctioned and was unable to get to Canyon of the Magi because I never reached the Summoner. I found out that by saving and exiting, then going back in to the Arcane Sanctuary via the waypoint I could find and kill the Summoner and continue the game.

A great game made even better with this expansion pack
Diablo II is perhaps the oldest PC game that's currently still in print, as it originally came out in 2000, and as of my speaking (2006) still being manufactured. It's one of the few still-in-print games that runs (and beautifully, by the way) on my antiquated system (to show you how antiquated my system is: it runs Riven: A Sequel to Myst beautifully, but on Myst III: Exile, many of the scenes are fine, but many of the animated sequences tend to be shaky, and it won't run Myst IV: Revelation, because it's far too slow and don't have the proper video card). That's probably also the beauty of Diablo II, you don't need the newest, fanciest computer with a 2GHz processor and the latest video card to play it. This is a truly wonderful, slash-em up adventure game certainly to please anyone of this genre. But the original Diablo II was not without its drawbacks. For example, what's the use in hiring a mercenary if they get killed almost before you get a chance to use them? Why can't you bring your mercenary back to life? Or why do you have to place your socketed weapon or armor in your inventory to place your gems, jewels and skulls in them, when you should be able to do it while still equipped? Well, this Lord of Destruction expansion pack fixes these problems, and so much more! Not only now is your mercenary much more useful, but they can be resurrected (at a certain price), you got new weapons and armor, you have two new characters to choose from (an assassin or druid), new charms, runes, etc. I also love how your stash now has been doubled, so you can put in twice as many weapons, armor, potions, etc. as before. But there are certain weapons and armor that can only be used by certain characters, and if you're playing the one player feature, you can sell these weapons and armor you can't use because of character incompatibility for more gold. And best of all, you have a whole new quest after you finish killing off Diablo! Plus you can have higher resolution so you can see more of your surroundings. Remember: you have to have the original Diablo II in order to use this expansion pack, of course. I really think this expansion pack is essential, it gets rids of a lot of the drawbacks, making the game even more exciting. ... Read more

Loads of Fun
I am having a great time playing this game. I play it almost all day. I like the fact you get to choose your own people to play. I get to arrange the different people to my best estimate of a challenging game.

Could be a lot funner.
Playing Icewind Dale II reminds me of all of those novels written by American authors in the late 19th century. Though many of the novels were very well written, they never seemed to suck me in and continue reading the book. Icewind Dale II is like that. It looks nice, it supposedly improves gameplay, and it gives the player more character creation options, but I just don't really want to play it. Why? Well, at the end of the day, it seems as if Icewind Dale II is hurt by a extremely corny story; it is bogged down in numerous irrelevent puzzles involving you running around constantly; it is just not as fun as its predescessor.

I keep coming back to this game. I love the challenge of building the city, and the battles aren't bad now I've figured out the strategy involved. ;)

I think Caeser 3 is a great strategy game that is fun and challenging. I'd have to say that Caeser 3 is a great war game if you chose to play on a not so peacful province. But even with a peacful province you can still have fun by trying to get a lot of people and other things. I like personally building up your city until the whole map is full then I build another city.Like I said before this is also a great war game, you can have up to 96 soldiers in your army. You can have 6 forts 16 men in a fort, but not only that you can have different soldiers such as Mounted on horses, Javilen with javilen, and Legonaries with sords and shields. If you train your army then you will domenate the battle fields. You can fight Caeser's army made up of blue Legonaries, also a lot more that you can check out. But my personal favorite are the barrbarions that come on some missions.

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. . .
I picked this game up fairly cheap for the PC (I think I paid five bucks for it) because I had heard many good things about it.I loaded it up on my desktop computer (which is only about a year old and not that slow, after all, I had just put in a new video card) and started playing it.I loved the dialogue, the witty banter, and I was generally having a blast playing it until it started to slow waaayy down as I started moving through the game until the characters were moving so sluggishly and swinging their weapons so slowly, they all looked like they were in slow motion (like some of the other reviewers have said.)I gave up on it and took the game to my laptop, which is newer and has a faster processor.It started off at what seemed to be normal speed.The Bard was trotting across the screen and swinging his flail at a rapid pace.Then about chapter four, it started slowing down again, all the way to a point where I couldn't play it anymore.All the fun had been zapped out of it as it took a good hour to swing and chop at four wolves in the forest.Sadly, I abandoned it for the PC, even though I was having a lot of fun with it up until then.I don't understand why it has so many problems running on a PC.Everything was sluggish, like the characters were moving in molasses.I turned down all the game settings, but it didn't seem to help much.If I want to see the game all the way through, I guess I'll have to break down and get it for the Playstation.

Promising Game- wrecked by implementation
I was an original Bard's Tale enthusiast, and really wanted to like this game. After I got over the fact this was almost NOTHING like the original game, I just looked at it as a new game. Unfortunately, this is basically a console gamer, as others have stated. Absolutely none of a PC's capabilities were used- every house, village and dungeon has to be loaded EVERY single time. The view cannot be changed, and none of the 'standard' PC mouse/cursor interface seems implemented at all. All in all, I was very disappointed. StarCraft:A Classic
Wow, I wasn't really sure what to expect when I bought this game!I had only played once before at a friend's house, and thought, "Oh sure, it's fun, I guess."But after buying this from Amazon, I had yet to discover the fulness of the game!As old as it may be, I discovered how many people still go online to play the game!That alone is proof of how good a game this is.Creating armies to conquer the battlefield, using great strategy along the way, this game really gets you thinking, too!I absolutely love it!

Blizzard gets the formula right!
Hailed by critics as merely "Warcraft in Space" back when it was released, Blizzard Entertainment's gem is a standard by which all strategy games are now judged. There are 3 playable races to choose from, the xenomorphic alien Zergs, the highly evolved technological Protoss, and the resourceful Terrans. The races are meticulously balanced, and all of them are unique in every sense of the word. The strategies you must devise to win have to be drastically different based on the race you play with, there is no single formula for success, you have to utilize your races' strengths and cover up your weaknesses against your enemy.

Always have great fun
Wow wow wow...what can I say, if you think Starcraft is fun, you should REALLY try Broodwar, The enhancement may not be a lot, but they kinda gives everyone a little more incentive to fight. Absolutely fantastic game that still thrills me everytime I play. With hundreds or maybe thousands of map available for downloads, you can be sure of hours, days, weeks, months or even years of fun!

Best Game Period
I have been playing this game for 5 or 6 years. It is the best game period. It is somewhat difficult but not impossible to complete. Plenty of levels and missions. Good controls, great graphics for it's time and still stands up well to this day, great sound, good music, great storyline. There is a campaign editor, so after you have finished playing the regular game you can create your own game or play some of the custom games that are already provided. I keep waiting and hoping that Blizzard is going to do a quality sequel to this game and right now I am very disappointed that I have not heard anything to indicate that they are. One more thing, although system requirements does not state it, it will work on Windows XP, it has on mine anyway, without using the compatibility mode I might add. Excellent Game, prompt shipping
I've been a longtime fan of starcraft ever since it came out... which I'm sad to say is becoming a quite large body of time.The product was great, except that the cd-key I was provided with the software was muted on battle.net.I'd never even seen that before.I'm having to spend a great ammount of time correcting that, but otherwise, delicious!

Real Time Strategic Slugfest
StarCraft does fall into the RTS genre; resource gathering, unit creation, base building, ect. But it isn't as demanding for a strategic genius as games like Age of Empires or Rise of Nations. Nonetheless, it's an explosive game that will keep you busy for a long time. In a way, StarCraft is a great change of pace for fans of more complex RTS games (like me). Playing Rise of Nations all the time can start to get overwhelming because of the constant mass and micro management needed. In StarCraft, you don't have to deal with a ton of diplomacy issues or anything like that. A typical game has things set up kind of like an RTS death match. All of the resources you need are sitting right next to your base. Collect them, build defenses, then build an army. You can choose from three different races. The Terran, a human army of colonists, Zerg, a race of bugs, mutants, and everything creepy and crawley, and the Protos, a super intelligent race with psionic powers. Each race (Terran, Zerg, Protos) have their one advantages and disadvantages. The Terran are well balanced and are best for beginners. They have good infantry and a variety of defenses. One good advantage is that important Terran Buildings (command centers, barracks, ect.) can lift off the ground and fly to a new area for a quick escape. The Zerg rely on the masses. Their units are not as powerful but they are also less expensive and some are created in groups. One of their disadvantages is that they cannot build (mutate) on normal ground; only on a thick slime that covers the ground near their buildings. The Protos have very powerful units, but they are more expensive and take longer to build. A huge advantage for the Protos is that they don't have to sit at a construction site and waste time building it up. All you have to do is get one of your little probes to warp the building in. The second the probe reaches the building site, they actavate a portal and the building basically starts to build itself, allowing the probe to tend to other matters. As a side effect, they can't repair damaged buildings. The sounds are nothing to make a whole extra section about (zap, boom, kerpow, "gimme somethin' to shoot.") but they're what you would expect from a game like this. The music also fits the mood perfectly. The graphics are about the same as Age of Empires II with a slightly more animated look making everything look and run smooth. It's hard to tell how good the AI is because of the simple tactics they use; launch waves of troops at your enemies and destroy them all. The AI also loves to rush. Expect to be attacked about five minutes into the game. Along those lines, the computer does very well. The environments are very interesting and original, covered with black dirt, craters, strange animals and purple trees. Simple fun building game
Great buildup to all aspects of game = easy to learn. Simple, slightly repetative game play. Still loads of fun and slightly addictive (if one loves city building games).

pharoah PC game
It's a really fun game.It's a great building game, but it takes a long time.My Mom says "my kids love this game, and I prefer that they play this educational game that is fun rather than the killing games.

Great city-building game, similar to Caesar 3
Pharaoh is very similar to its predecessor, Caesar 3. While Caesar 3 is Roman style, Pharaoh is in Egypt. Just as Caesar 3, Pharaoh is the game for fans of any Simulation game. As the location of this game is mainly on desert, you have to deal with small "green" area where you can put well on it to distribute the water to your citizens. One source for the food is the ostriches that are located in certain area on your map. Therefore, building your city needs a good plan to make sure your citizens are not short of food and water. I really like this game, and you may too! I was playing this game for months a few years ago and now I miss this game and want to play another mission. :D

Ok but needs graphical updates.
I had gotten this game the day it came out. Since then i've beaten the alien levels 13 times, predator 17, and marines 7. There were a tremendous number of slow-downs, and the graphics need a huge update, mostly the character models. The sound effects and voice acting are stunning, most of the time. The ships that occasionally fly above your head when your a predator are awesome! The predator's special visions are cool to have. I found the predator campaign to be much to easy! There are cheat codes for this game, but they don't work for the alien. The graphical chugging is the main issue. I've had to restart my computer at least 30 times because of this game! The gore in the game is pretty realistic but cool. Overall this game is mostly fun but won't give that much gameplay. If you want cheat codes for this game try cheat planet.com. And remember, watch LOST.

AVP 2
This game, overall, is an excellent game. The graphics are absolutely stunning and the characters look very realistic. Also, the Predator, Alien and Marine missions are all fantastic and very fun to play. The only con is that the levels are all a bit short. The plot, however is very entertaining and easy to follow. The environments in this game offer jungles, alien hives and marine bases, so the environment is rarely repetitive. The weopons for all species are very fun to play around with and also relate to the movies very well.

AVP2 is seriously one of the best single and multiplayer games that I've ever played (beats quake2, HL1, HL2, UT2004).The single player game play is absolutely phenomenal!The human side is so scary that I was on the edge of my seat for more than half the story.The scarcest part was entering the abandoned base area where you blow torch a lock and enter into blacked out hallways that lead into the alien nest.When your night vision goggles run out of batteries, you're neck deep in aliens!Predator single player is simply fun and more of an adrenaline rush that comes with being the hunter.Alien story is hard at first, but gets easier once you molt into a drone.Probably, had the most fun with the alien campaign leaping, crawling on walls, and slashing!The human weapons are very well balanced especially for online play.There are a couple of different styles for multiplayer.The best one is survivor, where the first player that gets picked off starts out as an alien.The alien has to get humans as quick as possible because you get points for surviving as a human.When you're killed by an alien you become one so you have to hurry and wipe out the humans as well!Few probably play avp2 online any more, but this game is amazing and shouldn't be overlooked! ... Not that good
i thought the the new empire earth II would be as thrilling and exciting as the first version. Wrong. Requieres too much ram resources, and the game it's just not fun anymore, even tough has some cool new features but the game isn't friendly enough.

Great Game But Confusing
This game is excellent!The graphics are great and I love the abundance of features in this game!It is certainly an improvement over the original Empire Earth.However, the game does take a little getting used to and can be confusing.

Horrible... Just Horrible
Wow... talk about a shocker.I loved EE1 and thought that EE2 would be one heck of an improvement.I could not have been more wrong.My first clue was how slowly my mouse was moving on the screen... ok, so I'll just adjust the mouse options and speed them up.Guess what... there are 2 mouse options, reverse buttons and scroll speed.That's it.Unreal.(and for all you who like to dismiss complaints like that b/c of a poor system, let me just say that this is running on a 2 month old P4 3.2Ghz (HT) with 1 G ram, top of the line GeForce card on a custom built platform so this is a game play issue, not a system issue.)

SWAT 4 isn't your average FPS. It's more of a squad-based tactical game with you overseeing your squad. I was very surprised when I saw that SWAT 4 averaged a 3.5/5 star rating here on Amazon. Horrible reviewers these days.
