Played it for years until the hackers killed battle.net
The original Diablo was ground breaking and a hell of a lot of fun. D2 took all of the great features of Diablo and then expanded both the universe, the story and the game play. If you want to disappear for a time - head for this world - you'll love it.

Blizzard's sequel may just be the most addictive roleplaying game ever
The original "Diablo" came along at a time when the CRPG market was in dire straits. The game breathed fresh life into the genre and created an unparalleled accessibility that made it very easy to pick up play. Using the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" formula, the sequel follows along the lines of the original, and expands it into a bigger and better game.
Oh my... so many complaints... should I buy?

Blizzard does it again
Diablo 2 is brilliantly fun, especially for multiplayer.There is a surprising amount of variability between characters.The game is great and I'm glad I bought it.

Mostly technical
It's a great game! I started with the original Diablo in the 90's but just got back into Diablo II after playing it at a relative's house. She had the Expansion Pack so I got that, and it's much better than Diablo II alone. I'm only on the 2nd set so I'm not very good yet, and the other reviewers have been very helpful. I did notice one thing: in Diablo II you can copy the play CD, which I did to protect the original, since you have to leave that in your CD drive to play. In the expansion There is only one CD and you need to leave it in your drive instead on the Diablo II play CD. You can copy the CD, and all the files that show up on the original will be copied, but the copied CD won't work to play the game. I'm sure that's to keep people from using the same copy of the expansion on more than one computer, but it does subject the CD to wear and possible destruction. Otherwise I'm completely satisfied so far. I had one glitch: in Act 2 the computer malfunctioned and was unable to get to Canyon of the Magi because I never reached the Summoner. I found out that by saving and exiting, then going back in to the Arcane Sanctuary via the waypoint I could find and kill the Summoner and continue the game.

A great game made even better with this expansion pack
Diablo II is perhaps the oldest PC game that's currently still in print, as it originally came out in 2000, and as of my speaking (2006) still being manufactured. It's one of the few still-in-print games that runs (and beautifully, by the way) on my antiquated system (to show you how antiquated my system is: it runs Riven: A Sequel to Myst beautifully, but on Myst III: Exile, many of the scenes are fine, but many of the animated sequences tend to be shaky, and it won't run Myst IV: Revelation, because it's far too slow and don't have the proper video card). That's probably also the beauty of Diablo II, you don't need the newest, fanciest computer with a 2GHz processor and the latest video card to play it. This is a truly wonderful, slash-em up adventure game certainly to please anyone of this genre. But the original Diablo II was not without its drawbacks. For example, what's the use in hiring a mercenary if they get killed almost before you get a chance to use them? Why can't you bring your mercenary back to life? Or why do you have to place your socketed weapon or armor in your inventory to place your gems, jewels and skulls in them, when you should be able to do it while still equipped? Well, this Lord of Destruction expansion pack fixes these problems, and so much more! Not only now is your mercenary much more useful, but they can be resurrected (at a certain price), you got new weapons and armor, you have two new characters to choose from (an assassin or druid), new charms, runes, etc. I also love how your stash now has been doubled, so you can put in twice as many weapons, armor, potions, etc. as before. But there are certain weapons and armor that can only be used by certain characters, and if you're playing the one player feature, you can sell these weapons and armor you can't use because of character incompatibility for more gold. And best of all, you have a whole new quest after you finish killing off Diablo! Plus you can have higher resolution so you can see more of your surroundings. Remember: you have to have the original Diablo II in order to use this expansion pack, of course. I really think this expansion pack is essential, it gets rids of a lot of the drawbacks, making the game even more exciting. ... Read more

It's as good as I remembered it!
I've played Diablo before, when it first came out.It was fun, exciting and learning the tricks to beat the game was great.As with all things - time, moving, etc - I lost my original copy and had several hard drive formats.When I went to order it anew, I found that Blizzard no longer carries/sells the single Diablo (the original game) disc.I found it here on Amazon and ordered it from NothingButSoftware.They sent it in a bubble pack, the disc in a software disc envelope, and the software, per the ad, was new.It arrived in a timely matter according to the Amazon shipping rules (4 days I believe it was) and in good condition.I highly recommend all 3 to anyone who wants Diablo, wants a good merchant, or an overall good company - Amazon.

A Bust as big as they come
This has to be one of the worst expansion pack to one of the greatest games of all time. How do I know this for a fact, because neither Blizzard or Sierra, ever mentions the expansion pack on thier website--a means to distance themselves away from it.
Great expansion for a great game.
The story line is about what happens after level 16.Even though the game is quite more challenging, it really adds more adventure after an already great classical.The new weapons are awesome, with more magics and portions that really perfect the original.

Diablo fans must own
If you are a hard line Diablo fan, you must get this expansion otherwize your collection would be incomplete. I dont even have to play the game to enjoy it, just knowing I can play it anytime I want is good enough. ... Read more

battlenet
I have played this game since it came out..Unfortunately battlenet has not improved at all over the years, magic drops are low and bad(personally i think servers get cut of ebay sales)and the gameplay would be good if battlenet would clean up the frequent problems they have with lag and droping u from games, yes i have a high end comp, with a high end card and connection so dont ask.

A real unbiased review
I am a Blizzard fan, I have bought many of the previous games that the company released like Starcraft and Warcraft 2, both of which are not only some of the best games I have ever played, but in the case of Starcraft, the single best game I have ever played and a game which I probably have played more than any other game.So I had high expectations of Diablo 2.
Diablo 2 is better then many reviewers think.
I'm sorry, but I can't stand seeing all these, "Corrupted Reviewers", make this game sound like it's not worth buying.Read more

The beginning of the Diablo story
Heavily emphasizing action at the expense of story depth, the original Diablo set the standard for Action Role-Playing games for years to come and countless clones followed in its wake.Some of those clones, and especially the sequel, Diablo II, subsequently made great advances in this style of gaming, not to mention the usual advances in graphics.Games don't age well, especially genre-defining games, so the original Diablo is now unfortunately obsolete.
Blizzard had their golden age starting from WarCraft II
I feel that I'm one of the very few lucky Kuwaiti citizens because I was in college in the states during the "Blizzard Golden Age".I rarely bought a game that didn't carry the "Blizzard" logo after (Diablo).

Hellfire
Hellfire is a good single player expansion for diablo. The only bad thing about it is that it doesnt add as much as you would expect. But there are tons of things great about this game. Like the new character class the monk also new quests and over 20 new demons. The expansion adds a couple of spells and potions it also adds 2 new places to explore, the hive and the crypt. Fun game.

Diablo 1 review
If you are thinking about buying this game go ahead and do it. This game kicks ... There is lots of adventure. You get to choose to be a rogue,warrior, or a sorcerer. You can also buy items and work your way up to be stronger and learn skills and spells. All of my friends have it to and all of them love it so if you are thinking about buying it go ahead and do it. I hope this review was a good help to you.
