Editorial Review

The layout of PlayStation2's Dual Shock 2 controller is nearly identical to that of the original PlayStation's Dual Shock controller, which is good news for most gamers. The main new feature is that, when the buttons are pushed, the controller can register how much pressure is being exerted. This adds a completely new dimension to sports, racing, fighting, and more games. Aside from the Start and Select buttons, all of the functions are analog for greater control, a wider variety of operations, and a more compelling interactive experience. Two convex analog thumb pads and two force-feedback solenoid rumblers round out the features. This controller is also compatible with all software that supports the original Dual Shock controller. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars We'd give it 10 stars if we could!
Kids and adults love solving the puzzles. It is a great intro to basic physics (w/o your kids realizing it!)There are problems to solve and you have to place tools (pulleys, balls, dominoes, candles, etc.) in the right place in order for the goal to be accomplished. Our 5 year old needs help; our 8 year old plays alone. Our friends' teenagers enjoy it also.

5-0 out of 5 stars ~WOW~
This game is a lot of fun. You need to use your head and think about how to solve all of these "wacky contraptions." At first, I thought it was a challenge, but then it got easier and easier. I'm almost at the end of the game and can't wait to see what happens!

5-0 out of 5 stars North Dakota Kid
I am 8 years old and I got Crazy Machines for my Birthday. This is the best game in the world but if you don't like complicated things you won't this game. The four main things are fire, rope, electronics, and the next one I will let you discover. You can either build your own machine or you can figure out problems that may seem hard but after you've done them awhile they are easy. Some of the things that you can build with are boards, balls, robots, cannons, goo, blimps, cords, gravity controlers, scissors, tubes, and plants.Buy this game and have tons of fun! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The best version yet
This game is seriously awesome! Most of the gameplay is the same as the original red, blue, and yellow versions, except with way better graphics. The wireless trading system rocks, I have a friend who has leaf green and we trade a lot to get the pokemon we need. A nice addition is the Sevii islands, they offer a lot more things to do, and they also are home to the day care center where you can breed pokemon(I already have like 10 charmanders, and of course you can't breed legendaries).Another fun addition is the shiny pokemon (pokemon that are unusually colored) I haven't found any yet, but my friend has a golden machoke and a yellow magikarp.

2-0 out of 5 stars Game is Terrible
After owning NBA live 05 and 06 this game is a huge dissappointment.I have never played 2k7 but I am considering purchasing it because this game is just terrible.

2-0 out of 5 stars ITS OVER 4 NBA LIVE
ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT I'VE BEEN A NBA LIVE FAN FROM DAY ONE AND I'VE ONLY HAD A PROBLEM WITH ONE YEAR AND I BELIEVE THAT WAS 97. NOW 10 YEARS LATER LIVE 07 IS STRAIGHT UP WACK... THE UPGRADES ON SOME THINGS ARE ALRIGHT. I LIKE THE LITTLE BUSINESS ASPECT BUT THE CONTROL EA COULD HAVE LEFT THE SAME... I GUESS THEY REALLY DIDN'T FOCUS CAUSE PS3 IS ABOUT TO COME OUT BUT EA MESS UP THIS ONE. THEY SHOULD'VE STUCK WITH THE POPULAR SLOGAN "IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT" I'D RATHER KEEP PLAYING 06. I GUESS THEY WANTED TO TRY TO USE EVERY BUTTON ON THE CONTOLLER MAN DAMN THAT IT WAS GREAT LAST YEAR, LEAVE IT ALONE...........

2-0 out of 5 stars Keep-it-close mode
This game is terrible. I usually really enjoy EA Sports games, but this one is a major letdown. To sum it up, Luke Ridnour just dropped 57 points on my team. I only lost by two, but basically the game makes one person absolutely unstoppable each game. If you get a big lead, the computer basically takes over the game, you miss lay-ups, and the computer makes triple-covered threes. The game is very unrealistic and the fact that there is never a blow-out is lame. I will now be switching to NBA 2k7. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Resist the Siren Song of Rock 'n' Roll
I had seen the crowds many times gathered around a screen in the electronics stores as someone took a turn playing the Quick Play mode.I was impressed by the variety in songs and the unique form of gameplay. Finally, after months of debating, I put in an order on Guitar Hero II.November couldn't come fast enough.

Great for hand-eye coordination in us older folk and we found we can still keep a beat to rock music! We are past the rock music era, but suprised to see several songs we grew up with that we still remembered. We did fair on the beginning level, but only played a few times.Had a great time interacting with our daughter and son-in-law and getting a bit "hip" once again. It was GREAT!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One of their best expansions yet
EA Games has to be the best game company out there. They take a great thing like The Sims (the original) and make it even better with each expansion and with the new Sims 2 and their expansions.

4-0 out of 5 stars Another piece of the pie...
It's interesting how the Maxis empire has evolved over the years. The very first expansion pack way back when was pretty revolutionary - it seemed like not very many companies were doing such a thing as releasing expansions. And back then it gave what the users were demanding - new objects.Today our demands are much higher as consumers, yet Maxis still doesn't *entirely* listen. It seems like with the Sims 2 their strategy is to release one new aspect of the game that fans have been wanting for ages - while still leaving out a big chunk of things people desire.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Game!
My sister got Sims 2: Open for Business for her birthday. As Sims fanatics, we wanted to control how our Sims worked. In the Original Game, we even made pool centers- complete with hot tubs- but we would have to use cheats to get any money; we couldn't charge other Sims for hanging out. This expansion puts a whole spin on the game, adding in an whole new part to the Sims. As previous review said, for a couple of hours a day, your Sim would just drive off in a car, and come back 9 hours later saying that he's made $374.

2-0 out of 5 stars Gouge me some more....I like it
First, let's establish one thing here. There is nothing in this expansion pack that shouldn't have been included in the original game. The only reason why I bought it, is because I am drawn to real-time and turn based strategy games like a fly to a bug zapper.
5-0 out of 5 stars First Expansion pack for the Long Awaited Sequel
This expansion pack has made Civilization IV much much better...although it would have been nice if these features came with the original game ....it has greatly increased the fun factor of this game...atleast for another 6 months...there is word on a second expansion pack suppose to go a completely opposite direction of this one...I do kind off wish they made something other than the war aspect in this one...but I guess the second will be so much better now...give it a good balance...I like the fact that they included online part (pit boss) in this one...I wish they had more civs for this one...plus in a way if you wait until the second expansion everything in this expansion will be included..so its kindaa waste...but if u cant wait until then and if you area civ finatic like me..then you should get this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent expansion
Long term civ fans may groan when an expansion appears, offerings to previous games in the series having offered little in the way of interesting play, but merely offered a few ornements like a new civ or some new units. Not so with Civ 4: Warlords.Of course this offers the usual, a few new civs like Koreans, Vikings, Carthanaginians, and the return of the old favorite Zulus, but that is what makes this a worthwhile expnasion. On the side of the mundane and worthwhile, the game now does things like dispalys the odds for each encounter when you attack, a useful addition to learning players.Of strategic interest the game gives each civ a unique building, really a variant on a pre-existing structure, but a wrinkle that will give players some food for thought.

I bought this memory for my kids, since hey were advancing in video playing and weren't able to save their achievements. This memory has lots of storage and now they advance faster to new levels. I think is the best out there.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best GameCube memory card available
Even though it costs the most of the memory cards and might seem over priced, this is a wonderful memory card. I don't have a huge collection of GCN games because I prefer the PS2 but I remember with older model memory cards I had to delete old saves to make room for newer games. With this memory card you can most likely hold saves for every game you own and more space should be left for new games to come!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great.
I've played all the Civ's and really looked forward to this one.But in my opinion, it does not offer a lot of improvement in gameplay/gamefun.The graphics are better than ever and the in-game map editor is a welcome addition. So much for the good news.Frankly, I like good graphics, but it's the -game- I'm interested in.I find the tech tree too long andneedlessly complex. The number of combt units seems excessive and you really have to advance pretty far to get to the good ones; the advance from one unit to the next higher one gives you a marginal increase, at best. After a while, I found myself wondering "what's the point?"City management is best done using the AI, otherwise it's too troublesome - unless you really like micro-management.The editor in Civ 3, while limited in some ways, seemed (to me) easier to figure out than the edit functions available with Civ 4 (except for, as noted, the in-game map editor function).Never could figure out how to edit individual Civ4 units.
1-0 out of 5 stars Catastrophic Failure
I installed this game with no problems. Then I tried to run it.No good.So I uninstalled it.It took me about 20 tries for the game to install properly again, each time getting a "Catastrophic Failure" error message. Then I tried to run it.No good.
5-0 out of 5 stars Sid's Civ keeps getting better and better
Pros: Each sequel keeps getting better and better. This Civ has added religion to the gameplay, which can make or destroy relationships with your neighbors - staying true to history with leaders disagreeing with neighboring countries religions. The options are almost unlimited, so each scenario you play feels like a whole new game. You can play quick games or "epic" games, there are tons of options for your terraforming, overall the game is perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nintendo's first real competition
Disclaimer:I am not a kid, my mom isn't around to tell me her password so I can't write reviews.AS soon as she does, I will.
3-0 out of 5 stars Five stars as gaming machine; One star as a movie machine.
As a gaming machine, this Sony PlayStation Portable would most likely get five stars. After all, you get to choose from really interesting titles like "Lumines," which is probably the best thing since Tetris. You get something called "Daxter," a 3-D action-platformer without Jak, Daxter's partner in the first three "Jak and Daxter" games released on the PlayStation 2, and soon, there will be something called "Ace Combat X," basically Ace Combat 4 or 5 converted to the PSP. This is all very well and good because for the first time in video game history, one has access to fully-3D action-platformers on a handheld system. On the other hand, what really stinks is giving this handheld the ability to play movies, only to have companies release certain ones. As a movie-playing machine, this PSP is definitely a one-star product. The idea of a handheld that can play movies sounds intriguing at first, but then, when one considers the fact that all movies are either going to take a very long time to be officially released in the UMD format that the PSP plays or are not going to be released in the UMD format at all, it kind of sucks the pleasure out of the fact that the machine is capable of playing movies. Moreover, it seems like whoever is responsible for releasing movies in this format is only trying to promote certain ones. If Sony really wanted to make this thing both a gaming machine and a movie machine, then why not devise a way to make it capable of playing ALL DVDs on the go, and not just the ones that the companies decide to remake for the system? After all, they did it with the PlayStation 2. There are some pretty intelligent, technical minds working for Sony, so I'm sure that they could have come up with some kind of way. If a company is going to release a handheld machine that can play movies on the go, then wouldn't it be great to have access to this feature for ALL movies, and not just ones that companies choose to release? Furthermore, in my humble opinion, with the possible exception of 'Herbie: Fully Loaded,' 'Red Eye,' 'Men in Black' and 'Ice Age,' about 90% of the movies that actually are being released in this UMD format aren't really all that good anyway, but that's beside the point. The point that I'm trying to make is that having access to some movies on the go but not others just doesn't seem fair. And yes, I know I'm probably going to get bombarded with that old "Life's not fair" cliche, but if Sony had just NOT made this thing capable of playing movies in the first place or if they had fixed it so that gamers/movie fans would have access to ALL movies on the go, then it wouldn't have to be.

5-0 out of 5 stars After all is said and done...its worth the price of admission.
After having played through a large portion of Bully, I can say this: Though its gameplay style may mimic other Rockstar titles (mainly the Grand Theft Auto series), Bully stands out on its own with many tweaks, themes, options, and fun to warrant itself as a standalone game worthy of praise, and not just another clone.
5-0 out of 5 stars The PS2's very own version of "The Catcher in the Rye"
Bully may very well be one of the most contraversial games of all time.Looked down upon by many groups, parents and politicians as a "Grand Thef Auto in a high school," or a "Columbine Simulator," simply based of Rockstars reputation it has for putting out adult oriented games.Especially when stacked with the contraversy surrounding the Hot Coffee Mod found in San Andreas last year. The game suffered long before it's release when Rockstar only had a name to their game. Now that it's finally out we can see just what this game is, and what it isn't.

I would have preferred to have the original SQ1 (instead of the VGA remake)... and I was glad to find that I can choose to use text instead of speech for SQIV, as I had the text-based version as a kid.The manual (as another reviewer said--taken from a different I-V compilation, with SQ6 tacked on) and having to print it out yourself annoyed me at first... but it's not really a big deal considering the big plus of having all these games that will actually work on my current computer.

2-0 out of 5 stars no...
The only reason i gave this product 2 stars is that it is more cost effective than replacing disposable batteries. This basically changes a wireless controller into a wired one, while yes you can play and charge, but it takes way too long. Rechargeable batteries isnt bad idea, but i'd get the quick charge kit basically same thing as rechargeable batteries only it is made for charging 360 battery packs (comes with one rechargeable battery pack) and is capable of charging two at the same time... extremely quickly... about hour and a half for 1 battery pack and around 3 and a half to 4 hours for 2 battery packs

2-0 out of 5 stars Unnecessary peripheral
While this can be handy, there is a far better solution for having rechargable batteries for the wireless 360 controller.
5-0 out of 5 stars A must need
IF you are a hard core gamer like me then this is a must need. When i first bought the 360 i got suckered in to buying this for my controler by the store clerk and you know what iam glad i bought it.WIth out the play and charge kit you have to constantly change out batteries every few hours, but with the play and charge kit i just have to wait for the controler to die plug this thing in and bam iam back in the game with out having to look for new batteries for minutes on end and it will save you alot of money in the long run.YOU have to buy this in order to play 360 constantly and also if you have four controlers for if buddies come over buy it for those controlers too. yes i know the 360 only has two usb ports but if your like me i have a computer too so you can plug two more in those usb ports.but if you dont then you can always revert back to batteries until yall are done then you can recharge the controlers over night. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game for the PSP
I got Madden 07 last week and I can't stop playing it.In Respone to the First Reviewer, you can cancel out of a audible by pressing Triangle. The Mini Camp games are a great way to waste time. The END 2 END game is great, and also you can play it without getting bored. The best part is the fact that there is Infrastructure mode, which allows you to Play anybody around the world. The only problem with Infrastructure mode is that the connection gets lost alot and most kids end their connection when they start to lose. This makes it hard to get a good ranking, because a lost connection counts as a lose or the game doesn't count.Good game all around

4-0 out of 5 stars Good but not Great
I just got my PSP and Madden 07, so can't compare to last years.I will say the game play is "good".I found two issues playing this game. If you audible out of a play, sometimes you can't hike the ball.So you are left with either taking a time out or taking a 5 yard penalty. This affects game play quite a bit. Also somtimes if you score a TD, Madden says a D linemen knocked down the pass. This is just irratating but does not take away from game play.Overall I like how easy it is to play. The point system for the goals is realy great and it makes you a better player.I dont use the blocker controls because it is a pain.Over all good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Big improvements, way to go EA!
I previously owned madden 06 for psp and while i found it to be pretty fun, the infamous loading time really brought the fun factor to its knees.EA fixed this problem and a few more with 07 and overall this game is GREAT.Great graphics, great sound, challenging situations, and more to love.

5-0 out of 5 stars Never got to the first and I don't care
I never played the original and don't really want to. This game was such a treasure to find with it's phenomonal music and graphics, engrossing gameplay, twisted plot, and the variety of characters possible to play. I have lost a lot of sleep over this game and I'm not even half way done.
3-0 out of 5 stars Solid, but contains the pitfalls of most tri-ace games...
My experience with developer tri-ace's games dates back to the original Playstation era with Star Ocean:The 2nd Story. Like most gamers on this side of the world, this was probably the one of the first tri-ace titles that had and created enough of a buzz to form a niche of fans. The other game, which is credited with a simular yet even bigger buzz, was the original Valkyrie Profile.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Follow Up to a Fantastic Game
Valkyrie Profile is a cult classic. No matter how you look at it.It was one of those games you either loved or hated.Obviously enough people loved it enough for Square-Enix to re-release the original on the PSP and make a second one on the Playstation 2.The end result is a great game that should satisfy fans of the original.

1-0 out of 5 stars Totally not what I expected
I bought the Xbox 360 premium system 3 weekends ago and I took it back for a full refund the following weekend.I had trouble with the console locking up on me, and overheating. It was only a matter of 2 or 3 minutes of turning it on when it began to blow hot heat out the back of the console......it was just like having a space heater running in my bedroom. I assume it was on it's way to the "Ring Of Death" and that's why I took it back. The games aren't that great either. I feel the system was very rushed and has poor quality in the machines. My advice is avoid the Xbox 360.The origial Xbox is twice the machine and I have never had any problems with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!Plz read my review!!
Some of the reviews for the 360 are done by ps3 fanboys who don t even own the console and give it a bad review. Just because they hate microsoft. The console is great I have had the console for 8 months and no problems what so ever.
5-0 out of 5 stars Please don t listen to all the reviews that are poor because they are not true at all.

1-0 out of 5 stars buyer beware
The copy of SimCity4 that I purchased came without the access codes to support instillation. When I called Electronic arts all I got was an automated phone system... press 2 now... EA's manufacturing quality control is so poor that they had a selection for products without access codes! I could never find a way to talk with a human beibng about the problem. The automated voice suggested solution was to send the product to them at my expsnse to prove that it came without the access code! I have returned the game to Amazon for a refund. I would never buy another EA product.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the BEST GAMES
OK, let's put it straight. This game is very organized. It contains lots of options for transportaion and civic structures. The graphics are pretty darn good and the sound is mildly decent. But then there are the downs. It may get a bit sluggish when the city is VERY BIG!!! So, this game is still very good.
4-0 out of 5 stars This game was good!
For those that have have played similar games like Sim City before, this one was great! I have played Sim City 2000, but that was years ago. I had found that game addicting. Now, years later, when I ordered Sim City 4: Deluxe Edition, I was blown away! This game is much better than 2000 could hope to be. They have resolved many of the issues that I had with the older game and then some. I have found this game to be addicting to, and have started different cities at the same time. I am working on getting the "perfect city" for me to be happy with. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of any of the Sim games. I could even say at times it was funny even to read the tongue-in-cheek sayings that come up just as you are starting up the game for the day like "Bureaucratizing Bureaucracies". It was not so much hilarious but, it can help you get in the "fun mode" to play the game. The advisors can get slightly annoying after awhile, especially when you have a different idea about what you want to see in your city than they do, but it is still overall a very entertaining game. My next purchase will most likely be Sims 2, for more of the Sims experience. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Addictive
This game is addictive on the online game space. The campaign play is okay. But everyone knows you can beat the regular games with ease. But when you play online, definitely definitely a big big winner!Lots of strategies, lots of options.
2-0 out of 5 stars They ruined the Age of Empires reputation with this.
I played the original Age of Empires, both I and II, and their expansions, and for the time they were released, they were the best thing out, easily. For their time they were innovative, and brought new ideas, graphics and notions to the RTSs. However, this game does little that is innovative, and almost nothing that has not, by this time, been done in almost any other RTS. This game offers nothing new to the market.
5-0 out of 5 stars It's kinda like crack
This is not a perfect game. It is unbalanced and at times over reliant on youu being able to micro the hell out of your villagers rather than creating any viable military strategies. Yet, for a period of about 2 months I did nothing but play this game. I would play alone. I would play with my roomates, then alone again. Once one of my roomates was bitter when I played alone, after saying earlier that I would play with him. It was collective addiction. All of us were addicted and obbsessed with the game. We would play till the early morning and also between classes, when we had 20 minutes or so to spare. This game consumed our lives and a soundtrack of power metal and elegies to the greatness of this game filled the air. We would speak of the intensity of addiction. We would mention all of the times that we thought about the game in the least opportune moments. I would lie to my girlfriend that I had essays to write in order to get another few hours to play the game. In fact, I would sneak out of her room at 12 in order to play the game till 4 or 5 in the morning.
