4-0 out of 5 stars WAY BETTER THEN FIRST ONE!
This gbc game is way better then the first super mario land! In the first one the goombas, mushrooms, and question blocks are almost microscopic. I ran into a goomba thinking it was a mushroom!
5-0 out of 5 stars hard but fun, fun, fun!
My next-dor neighbor, Matt Aurand Has This and let me borrow it.
4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting Bit of Mario for Gameboy Pocket
Even if the game had limited or no color, I still like the game as much since when I got it for my 10th birthday (I'm 16 now). Though the game gets beaten fast, it's still okay. Plus, it's packed with secret levels. A vintage Gameboy Mario game that's still as much fun as the day it was released in stores!

4-0 out of 5 stars fun game
This game is indeed a classic, and i must say i loved the SNES version. However, the lighting isn't as good, but i guess you can find that with any game boy color. Overall this is a very good game!!!!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Graphics....
This is a truely great game for GBA and Snes....however it is a near exact replica to the Snes version sound and all. My main problems w/ the game are the graphics...it looks like a child drew this. Donkey Kong is so hard with his jump moves too....

5-0 out of 5 stars GBC DK Country
It's kinda easy, but great graphics for a Game Boy Color game! It has music that it's so good, if you don't play in months, you'll hear the sound of DK Country. Mainpoint: GET IT! Since none are here, go to the Computer & Video Games area of Amazon and get it there! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best GBC Game (written on 1/18/04)
If you are interested in this product, I advise you buy it. It has the arcade style play of Frogger 1 and the same theme: Cross the road without getting squashed. of course Frogger 2 has much more to it. Only in the first WORLD will you ahve to cross the road avoiding oil spills, snakes, and bulldozers. In the other worlds you will experience boulders and alligators, walkingm on air, sliding on ice, and dodging snakes, bumblebees, pirannas and more. Once you beat all of the 6 worlds you try to gain trophies in every level. You can get a trophy for time and collecting all the diamonds. You can open up to three files and you can compete with siblings and friends for the best time in finishing a level. I got this game,er.... years ago when GBC was popular and I still compete with my brother int his game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome game
This game is really fun.You can count on this game to keep your intrest.I loved it and I have so many games already that it is almost inpossible to keep track. This was the one game out of all of mine that I got the most use out of.There area lot of levels and new lands. You can choose between 2 characters [lille frog or frogger].There are 6 or more stages.Ice Age Gators lair and many many more...If youre interested in this game I say go for it!You'll be happy with your purchase!

4-0 out of 5 stars Better Than I Expected!
My best friend's brother had this game, and since he seemed pretty in to it, I decided to put it on my Christmas list. As a result, it turned out to be one of those can't-take-your-fingers-off-it kinda game. I enjoy the fact that it still has that classic Frogger adventure to it, yet it also added a couple of curves, too. My favorite section of levels would be the "Ice-Age", only cuz you don't need to hop around, you can slide!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Frogger is Awesome
It seems not very many like to play this game, but I think it is great! It is short, but sweet, and the levels get more challenging each time. It has relatively good graphics and I think is a great game for people of all ages.

5-0 out of 5 stars frogger rocks
How old are you guys?10?Frogger is a classic - nothing to get excited about graphics wise, etc. but the game itself is just a classic skill game among the ranks of pacman and dig dug.

2-0 out of 5 stars A waste of money
I think that this game is pretty bad! I have played the playstation one version and it is a lot better! That actually has different levels that actually look different a nd are 3-d! This game is horrible! The screen just looks so boring! It's just some cars and stuff that you have to get past! Since all of the levels are basically the same, there is no point in trying to beat the levels because there's nothing different about the next level! The game doesn't even save high scores when you get them! There also isn't any backround music! Don't waste your money on this game! You will be very dissapointed unless you are older and liked the game how it was when you were a kid or something! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Why Aren't There More Games Like This?
I was first truly introduced to the world of Don Bluth in 1992 during a vacation to Disneyworld. In the hotel's basement was a relativley large and eclectic arcade.Wedged between Mad Dog McCree and Space Pirates was Dragon's Lair, probably the first truly interactive movie to ever be placed in an arcade machine. I became utterly fascinated with the game, though not having the patience to genuinely appreciate it. Before that, the only thing of Dragon's Lair I had ever even heard of was the Television series (though I remember the few episodes I saw being somewhat boring and non-descript, nothing like the game). Dragon's Lair is the most quintessential "cross-platfrom" game ever conceived; its original format on Laserdisc, then onto Arcade, to PC, to DVD, and finally, to GameBoy Color. (I believe there were even Playstation, Saturn, and Sega CD editions of the game, but I must admit that I am uncertain, and apologize in case I have genuinely left them out).5-0 out of 5 stars Gameboy Color Does Good With This Title
I didn't think it could be done, but the orginal was shrunk to fit the gameboy color.I personally liked it and I will tell you why.First starters, its a great version of the classic game.I loved the arcade game, I was never really good at it, but I loved it.I was a little kid when Dirk first hit the scene and I was blown away by the animation and interaction.True, it is not a conventional video game, it's more eye candy and quick acting one button hitting moves, but this is the best of them.Dirk The Daring has been around for 17 years and they are still converting over to play on newer systems.Another reason I like it, it plays quickly.Let's admit one thing about about the Gameboy Color, it's not looking to dazzle you with graphics or sound, it's a hand-held game system to pass the time while you are traveling or hanging out (for older players anyway).I don't like getting really involved in my Gameboy games, I leave that to my Dreamcast, PS2, or PC games. With Dragon's Lair, I can pop it in, play for a bit and shut it off.Sometimes I don't play my Gameboy for weeks or even monthes at time, and playing some games (like RPGs or adventure games) I loose track what has happened or I forget the password to the next levels. All and all, Dragon's Lair is not for everyone. The real people who would enjoy this one would have to be the fans of the old game.New players may be a little confused about the gameplay and the odd pauses in the game. The fans familiar with the game will remember the pauses and obscure lag time, but we liked the game none the less.If you really like the game, then the only thing left to do is buy the DVD version. DVD version is the best translation (if not better) and it's relatively a cheap game...

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazingly Faithfull, but....
Wow... Dragon's lair in your hands ! Of course, I think this game will only be appreciated by those who played it in the "old arcade days" , and will probably not create a new wave of fans. This being said, I think the GBC version is just amazingly faithfull, taking into consideration the potential of an 8 bit mini-console. Two things makes it a little bad though...First the sound effects were highly reduced (probably to make the visuals better) and the "game play" is way too fast, new players will have a hard time figuring out what to do. But, I'm 33, and I grew up in the 80's were a quarter could actually make a difference (Arcade wise) and I believe that Dragon's Lair GBC is really great ! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Marble (not-so-fun)ness
The game I've played is not for color, rather the older version.4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect recreation of a Nintendo game
This is an original "race" to the finish, because you play as a marble and go down a 3D course full of traps, hazards like puddles of acid, vacuums, enemy marbles, slinkies that eat your marble and several challenges. This is not a game for children or anyone who can get frustrated easily, because first of all the controls are not where you press down and your marble goes down, when you press down your marble goes diagonally down and left! Secondly, if you fall far enough, your marble will break and crumble, but fear not, because you have unlimited "marbles," however you are limited by time. Once your time runs out, that's it! There are only five courses in the game. This game is a perfect recreation of the original Nintendo game. There is a two player linked mode, so two players can race each other down the course.

1-0 out of 5 stars Difficult to play
For me, the bottom line is: this game is difficult to play on a gameboy. The original arcade game used a trackball and it was a very fun and exciting game. This does not translate well to how a gameboy is played. It is difficult to move the marble around 360 degrees.I do not recommend this game. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Gaming Mom from the 80's
This was one of my favorite arcade games when I was in high school.I was shocked to see that after nearly 20 years that it was available for Game Boy.I bought this one for myself, sure that my 10 year old son would not care for it.This is the type of game in which the player clears levels. Each level gets more difficult. There isn't anything complicated about the way this game progresses. In this game the player plays a thief who is trying to pick up what I believe are floppy disks. The setting is a cross-section of a building of many floors with rows of doors on each floor and escalators on either end of each floor. The elevator is in the center of the building.Armed security people can come out of the doors at any time and shoot at the thief, who can then duck or jump over the bullets (and shoot back of course.)The player can also shoot out the lights to temporarily make the room dark to aid in sneaking off to a safer area. One funny way to get rid of the people chasing the player is to make them get squashed underneath the elevator.Once all the disks are picked up, the player advances to the next level, which will contain more security people and eventually dogs. This game is good for people of all ages because the first two or three levels are easy (but still fun), making it good for younger players, while the more advanced levels are very challenging.I was certain my son would not like this game, but he loved it.In fact, it was his favorite game for a while. In no time at all, he could advance to a level past what I could reach.I highly recommend this game for an adult who misses the older arcade games, or for a youth who is tired of the modern-style adventure games. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The great classic horror game, made more playable!
I've always loved the arcade and NES versions of this game. The classic sidescrolling action, the medieval fantasy horror, the bizarre and hideous monsters, the creepy and catchy music... I've always loved just about everything about Ghosts 'N Goblins. The only aspect I didn't like so much was that, in some ways, it was just too ridiculously frustrating. Well, I actually think the GBC version is superior to the NES version; the main improvement being the save system. Since it's such a long game (that you have to complete twice to actually win at), it's nice to be able to take breaks from the challenge instead of trying to beat the game in one go. Also, I'm glad that some of the really tough, quick enemies like the red demons, and the dragons in this version can be destroyed with a handful of shots (instead of about 15 million shots like in the NES version). To put it simply, I think this is a better version of an already great game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Who knows?Who cares?
N OK GAME. i have not actully played it yet and it will probably stink like poo-poo. it may be half-way decent, but probably not, it most likely stink like poo-poo.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ghosts N Goblins - Very addicting!
Well, this is an oldie, but a goodie! Ghosts n goblins hits back to theold days, I remember throwing in quarter after quarter into the arcadeversion, and stayed up every night playing it on my NES.. Ohh, the good olddays *sighs* Now, you can get this onthe gameboy color! This game is sofun and addicting, I just bought this today, and my face has been glued tothe gameboy screen! The musick is pretty catchy as well, plus everytime youcomplete a stage, you are rewarded a password, so when you die, you don'thave to start from level one.. Pretty good idea, if you ask me. 3-0 out of 5 stars Well....
This game was very strange. It's pretty much like the old version yet too easy. If you want a great Space Invaders game, get it for PC. It's fun and if you beat the game(it's really easy), you unlock the old version. This game isn't too good. Just skip it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Take me back to the old days (cuz the game sure does not!)
I thought this would be like the arcade version of Space Invaders Deluxe but I was disappointed.I could sit there all day and keep clearing the most "advanced" level. What happened to the challenge of the oldgame? As an "old timer" I enjoy the old arcade games that I grewup with...it would not have been too difficult to duplicate the arcade gameor at least make it a challenge (as in Pac Man and Missle Command versionsfor Game Boy).By the way...where are Galaga and Gorf? 5-0 out of 5 stars Great gameplay
The gameplay in Yars Revenge is addicting, fast paced, and very fun. This Game Boy Color version is much better then the version bundled on the Game Boy Advange with Pong and Asteroids. I know this because I had originally bought Yars Revenge for Game Boy Color used for about 2 bucks. At first, I could't figure out what to do in the game and didn't understand the goal. After I got the hang of this game I was HOOKED!!! It was the best 2 bucks I ever spent. Then, one day I popped the cartrige into my system, and it wouldn't fire up. Attempt after attempt to boot the game up failed: the game had inexplicably stopped working! I had played the game without a problem earlier in the day, too. So, since it broke I thought I'd buy the GBA version....wow, what a rip-off. For 15 bucks I got a slow paced, lower-rez graphics (yes) and much worse version of the game. Don't get me wrong, Asteroids and Pong are allright, but with no high score saves this compilation is lacking. Since the GBA Yars was such a dissapointment I hopped onto Amazon and once again purchased one of the most fun arcade style games EVER: Yars Revenge.
5-0 out of 5 stars Just as I remembered it!
This one's a classic, folks. I don't remember 'Yar's Revenge' being one of the "bigger name" games on Atari. It wasn't a 'Pac Man' or a 'Space Invaders', but it was definately a fun game. I loved it back then and I love it now. The Game Boy port of the title is excellent. The game is just as I remembered it. The only noticable difference is that the playing field is larger than the Game Boy's screen, meaning it will have to scroll in order to get to the other side. This is a minor footnote, however, and is an obstacle that will quickly be overcome. If you loved this game in the 80's and own a game boy, grab it up!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun!
I remember this game from my young teens....it still hasn't changed and is just as much fun as still addicting. The graphics are ok, but for those of us old timers from the Atari 2600 generation, this will feel like putting on a pair of old shoes! Its challenging on a small screen and takes some getting used too.I reccommend this to the 30 something crowd! ... This game wasn't all that bad. The Graphics were poor to the point that i couldn't see any secret areas. The controls were very good. 3-0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars - the rebirth of two arcade classics!
Asteroids and Missile Command are indeed worthy of the title of "arcade classics." Through the course of the seventies and the early eighties, very few games were up to the incredibly high standards set by these games. Sure, the games are dated, but that doesn't mean they aren't fun! In the mid nineties, a number of Arcade Classics titles were released for the Game Boy, each one featuring two games each. The first title in this series was a cartridge featuring both Asteroids and Missile Command. Read on for my review of this package.Read more

Klax.. as timeless as Tetris and Columns.Ported from system to system over the years, it's made a try at the Gameboy Color system. The graphics are dark, the brown tiles are hard to see (they blend in with the background of your drop-bin), and the gameplay gets furious. You have to love Klax to love this game, but I'd have to recommend Tetris DX first. The game remains true to its name, and there's nothing really new here except for a 'freestyle mode' where you don't play the game level by level (where you're required to make certain kinds of 'klaxes' or reach a point limit or use up a certain number of tiles before you can advance to the next level), but instead just play for points until your game is over. It's a decent game overall, and good for a quick diversion, but again, I would recommend adding this brain-game to your library if you know you already like Klax, and if you've already got (or can't find) Tetris DX.

5-0 out of 5 stars Klax Addiction
If you like games like Tetris, you'll love Klax. I'm currently on my second Klax cartridge, having given my first to a friend because I couldn't put it down! I didn't last long without it, although it took me a while tofind another. It's always challenging and has great graphics, however it'sa little dark (I find that a worm light helps). I haven't used any of myother games in months, if that tells you anything! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Please Don't buy
Don't buy this game! It has the worst graphics you have ever seen! You shoot a line at another line, and that is the object of the game. I thought the rumble feature was alright, but it was usually just a buzz, and ittakes a battery.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not quite the old Arcade Game
This game lacks some of the advantages that it had in the arcade, namely the track ball.using the Gameboy directional pad is difficult to get used to and control. It is possible that if I played it enough, I wouldprobably find it less challenging, tho.It has some nice graphics and therumble feature is pretty cool. I think if you REALLY liked the arcade gameyou will like it if you are willing to take the time to get used to thecontrols. ... Read more
