5-0 out of 5 stars Do not overpay
The users that are shamefully selling this game at astronomical prices should be shot. There is no reason for this game to be priced so high other thanthe fact that one or two desperate people actually paidsuch a high price. If you look hard enough, you can find it for much, much less.I just bought one, brand new, on eBay for $32.I am pretty sure the most recent seller on this site, the one selling the game for $92, also got his on eBay (I recognize his name), but I can't be sure.If people pay these ridiculous and insulting prices, it will only perpetuate the situation.Tell these guys that you are not stupid.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not a very good game.
There is exellent graphics, and the seasons and "Make your own ballpark" is awesome, but the controls are impossible to master. I suggest doing a season, and managing/simming the games.

5-0 out of 5 stars Should still be bought over MLB 2k6
For the uninformed who don't believe they have enough time to manually edit rosters, there is always the third party automatic route. Mvpmods.com will supply roster updates up to at least the middle of April 2006, and will continue to do so for what will most likely be a long awhile if there continues to be a drought of an MLB game on PC. Don't support the 2k franchise. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars tHE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER SEEN
This is the game of the year. I enjoy playing this game so much. It has great graphics and the rosters are the same as the 2003 baseball season and that is the best thing ever and they also have a pitching bullpen just for the home tam and the vising team<br />

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game
I LOVE this game!!!The only problem (and it's not really that bad) is that I cannot figure out how to save a game in progress. The graphics and wonderful and the game is easy to play once one gets used to the controls.I play at least one game a day and enjoy every minute!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good game, but too easy...
This game is great if all you want to do is win. I mean everyone wants to win, but when all your pitchers are 20 game winners and all your hitters are batting over .300, it kinda takes some of the fun out of it. Granted, my team is the Yankees, but they're not as good as that, haha. One thing that I find extremely hard is base stealing. I haven't been able to pull it off yet! The only stolen bases my players have is when I sim the games. I could see if Pudge Rodriguez was catching it would be harder to steal, but Piazza?!?! And while Posada has gotten better at throwing guys out at second, he didn't get everybody, but in this game he has. It seems that whenever a player steals, the guy at the plate takes a called strike which isn't very realistic.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Overall, quite good
After being thoroughly impressed by HHB 2003, I decided to try this version. Overall, I think HHB 2004 is great. The developer did make a few big mistakes in porting this game from the console version, but the gameplay is better than before, at least on the field.
3-0 out of 5 stars So So
I loved HH 2003. I played it for hours. I wanted new rosters, so I purchased HH 2004. Immediately, the gameplay felt awkward. I tried playing a few more games, but the entire game seemed so awkward compared to HH 2003. I guess the graphics look a little better in 2004, for example there seems to be more transparency etc... If you like HH baseball, and you don't care about the rosters, keep using HH 2003.

3-0 out of 5 stars Trying not to be harsh....butttt.....
Well here it is the Newest version of the High Heat series 2004.If I say I liked it better than the previous year I would be lying.I don't mind that the mouse isn't included...but everything has changed and it can be a maze to someone without a gamepad. The graphics are alright...but I think the movement is much more limited. In short...the 2003 edition is cheaper and much more efficient because the game setup is much less tedious.I recommend the 2004 edition if you are used to playing playstation 2 games and a gamepad is a must have! Alrighty I hope this is helpful..I am sorry to the High Heat folks but I believe the 2003 edition is much better. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Three Outs In "Triple Play" Take Away Value
"Triple Play Baseball" by EA Sports is one of the more unusual basebal games to hit the market lately. Some of its notable features are an "Extreme Big League Challenge", in which sluggers can take aim at targets set in some very unique settings including a house and a construction site, power-ups that can make players look like mutated victims of some strange disaster, and some stadiums that are literally out of this world. It has a lot of strong points- there is a decent amount of play modes, so you won't run out of anything to do in a while. The menu music isn't bad and you can even import your own. And the Big League Challenge is one of the most fun and addictive things I have ever encountered in a video game. However, Triple Play has three big problems, which I, for the sake of comedy, are calling outs, since there are three outs in a Triple Play. Got it? Good.3-0 out of 5 stars not realistic at all
bad graphics, bad player movement,ok gameplay, odd power ups, ok-bad game, not much else to say.

5-0 out of 5 stars Triple Play Baseball Hits A Home Run!
I recently upgraded my computer to Windows XP, and I am happy to report that Triple Play Baseball is compatible with that. What impresses me most about this game is its attention to detail.I have played games in every major league baseball park, and am amazed at the similarity to the real parks when I see them on TV.I strongly suggest setting the overall difficulty level of the game to ROOKIE when first learning the game.Pitching is fairly easy to master, while hitting successfully is a matter of timing.Catching the ball is the hardest part for me to master.Set the fielding difficulty to Automatic when starting out, and you'll never miss catching the ball.Once you've played the game for a while, you can try the fielding difficulty level at CPU Assist. You'll see an arrow pointing you in the right direction to catch the ball, but you have to make the catch on your own.If you're feeling really confident, you can set the fielding level of difficulty to Manual. At that level, it's really hard to catch a hard line drive or a long fly ball. After you've played the game well enough to consistently win at the ROOKIE level, try setting the overall game difficulty to the PRO level.I guarantee you'll have to work harder to keep winning games.I wish you a lot of luck when you play games at the ALL-STAR level.Discover whatever level of difficulty suits you best, and play ball! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars SO COOL
I LUV Dynasty Mode...and the "Classic Stadiums" option was the greatest ever.I've always wondered what it would feel like to have a 2004 game played and/or broadcast at Crosley Field or Shibe Park (Cincinnati and Philly for you younger rhubarb fans). I have played as the Twins and have had Morneau and Hunter both hit more than 30 HR's before the All-Star break. What's this about Left Handed batters not hitting taters?BAH!
5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LIKE IT!!!!! THATZ Y I HAV THIS IN CAPS! BASEBALL FANS, GET IT, NO QWESCHON!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun but Frustrating
First off, as far as computer games go this one is pretty good. The graphics are excellent, the menu's are easy to use. But there are some serious kinks in this game. Left-hand batters no matter what their power, rarely hit homeruns. In dynasty mode, players retire for no reason, and many minor leaguers simply disappear. If you don't have one of the 3 or 4 supported gamepads/controllers yours won't work with this game, and using the keypad presents major difficulties, like not being able to lead off, slide, or swing and control runners at the same time. Despite these deficiencies the gameplay is excellent, the difficulty levels and dynasty mode provide great challenges, and their are fun bells and whistles which add to the fun. I would buy it, but don't expect perfection.

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost a classic
This is easily the best depiction of major league baseball that I've encountered in a video game. The game does an excellent job of capturing the tension between batter and pitcher confrontations and allows the player to customize a lot of the gameplay. While HHB2003 does have its problems, it is overall a very solid game.
1-0 out of 5 stars Major League Sucker
Everything Sucks in this game. It's to easy to hit a home run. And Hey 3DO went bankrupt. I wonder why. Because it Sucks. Every Game they came out with (except Sarge's Hero's) all sucked. As Tommy Tallarico said in Judgement Day on G4 said it SUUUUCCCCCKKSSS. And then he threw it down on the Ground. Stay away from this sucker. 3D0 Sucks

4-0 out of 5 stars A lot of fun, but too easy
While I enjoy this game immensely, it does seem to be a bit to easy and I've about played it to its limits.I've played about 20 seasons and usually sim through them and then play the playoff games. The fun part for me is building the team through trades and free agents and drafts.5-0 out of 5 stars A great game with a few holes
This is a great game and the best part is trying to maintain a dynasty through the years.Unfortunately, you can get around losing free agents by trading your players for players on other teams with years on their contract with similar salaries. My current team has won the division four straight years, but I did use the editor to change my market size and my coaches/scouts.4-0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable Baseball Simulation
Season Ticket Baseball is a dummed-down version of Out of the Park Baseball that you can buy on-line.Buyer beware because this point isn't advertised. But, STB is a lot cheaper, so it can be worth it.And best of all, it is a lot of fun.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Statistical Drug for Baseball Fanatics
I'm old enough to remember the old strat-o-matic baseball games, as well as the first fantasy league baseball games, as a kid, and I have always been disappointed by baseball video games more concentrated on graphics, instead of variable and situational realism.Baseball Mogul is an attempt to mitigate some of those shortfalls. It is by no stretch perfect, and if you're simply looking for a software game that gives you enhanced graphics, you're better off with X-Box.Nevertheless, it is a first class game from the perspective of a GM/Owner, in which you can operate your own team, set your lineups, pitching staff, conduct trades, etc., based on real MLB teams, historically, as well as recent ones.It even allows for a draft, although it waits until after the season (even though MLB's draft occurs during the season).
4-0 out of 5 stars Well worth it
While Baseball Mogul is not perfect, I have logged dozens of hours as a general manager. In fact, I am in the 75% through a campaign to win the World Series with every team in the league and (in homage to Wowbanger the Infinitely Prolonged from Hitchhiker's Guide) in alphabetical order. The fun I have had with this game is particularly suprising since I haven't followed baseball since the strike.
5-0 out of 5 stars Addicting!
OK, if you're looking for an exact historical simulation game, this isn't for you. It's not perfect, has some errors, and typos. But the ultimate test for a game is if it's fun, and this game is a blast-it's addicting. Once you start, you can't stop! I play the fantasy draft option, rather than replaying real seasons, as it is a real trip. You enter an alternate universe where some real players never existed, and some fictional ones pop up each season. It takes a while to learn all of the ins and outs of the game, but it is a lot of fun. There ARE a few things the makers could do to improve it: make free Agency competitive, go into the Awards/All-Stars areas more (the All-Star Game especially)as well as refine existing features, but overall i love this game! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Baseball Game!
3DO's High Heat Baseball is hands down the best baseball game around.Although the new 2001 version is out now (I don't have it), I'll review this one for those who are interested.5-0 out of 5 stars HH 2000
I think that this may be the best PC Baseball game yet! If you are a person who likes realism, then this game is for you. If you like the type of baseball games where you can knock planes out of the sky with yourhomeruns, then forget it. This game plays like it should, right down to thevariable calls made by the home plate umpire. The fielders throw like theydo in real life. You won't see any clothesline throws from the right fieldwall all the way to home plate. Cutoff men are used in this game. I thinkthe only thing that TP 2000 had over this game was that TP 2000 had theactual batters' stances and pitchers' windups for each player. As far asthe gameplay goes, this one is a winner.

3-0 out of 5 stars Mixed Review
To be honest... I think that this game when compared to the others is one of the best (if not the best) games on the market. I mean it has it all: all the teams with all the stadiums (even the new ones like Safeco fieldand Pacific Bell Park(which isn't even open yet)) with all the players.Plus there's some older, nostagic stadiums like the Polo Grounds and Ebbetsfield and even some spring training (practice) stadiums. You can doeverything you can think of (including move your home stadium andcompletely change your lineup and rotation). There's also a complete listof free agents and a complete minor league farm system where you can draftand develop players. You can cut, send down, bring up, etc. players anytime(and its fun doing it too). The problem, however, that I experienced was itis a pain to get to work. There are many files and programs which the gameneeds to work... ones that aren't mentioned anyhere. Also, you have to makesure you have the updated version for all your drivers (audio, video, etc).To be honest, it was a complete hassle to get this game working and is notworth it in the end... epecially since a better game will come out soonanyway. In short, only get this game if you are patient or completely knowhow to reconfigure your system. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful baseball game!
I absolutely love this game!....The gameplay is wonderful because you barely have to memorize any of the controls because they are already on the screen when you're playing. The graphics are quite good but since it's a 2001 title they are not as good as the newer Triple Play graphics. I have a Windows ME and it works very well, it is very fast and it barely ever crashes. I highly recommend buying it if you are a baseball fan or if you just like good sports games!

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good
I think this game is pretty good the players our all real baseball players. It has many levels such as Single Game, playoffs, and Homerun Derby. Although I really don't have the jewel case I have the original version. All in all I am pleased. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Quite There
When I first bought this game, I bought it for only 20 bucks, but the first thing I noticed when I played this game is, WHERE ARE THE UMPIRES!You can hear them calling strike or ball, but you can't see them. And thebatting and pitching is so mad easy, on the first day i struck out 17Cleveland Indians with Pedro Martinez, and a few weeks later, I beat theYankees 51-0! What a fake score! I recommend you only buy this game, if youhave absolutely nothing else to buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Baseball fun, but not a Managers game.
I've got to say that the graphics engine in this game is very similar to Microsoft's NFL Fever 2000, it's GREAT! MS Baseball 2000, isn't for those who want to manage the front office with trades and salary caps...but itdoes offer a pretty pleasurable "sort of arcade" type of gamethat requires a bit of skill to get right..and a decent commentary from theDiamondback's Tom Brennaman. I guess I'd just have to say that it's "fun" baseball sim...not necessarily "detailed"baseball. The players and stadiums look very good, and the gameplay hassome options for difficulty levels. It's just a nice way to have yourfavorite team smack the opponents on an afternoon outing! ... Read more
