4-0 out of 5 stars Controls are confusing...so they say.
As i'm sure you have noticed, all the controls on the menu and in some parts of the game of THAW are labelled G=back, O=select etc. Many different reviewers are getting angry because of this inconvenience but if you just think about it, it's all quite simple.G=Grind button, O=Ollie button, R=Rail button and so on. The reason they don't put "keypad 5=ollie(or select)" is that you can change these settings in the "launch" area in the beginning of the game and that would make it very confusing. Many people do nat change these settings but if you've played previous tony hawk games, some of the controls are different and you are already used to them.In THUG 2 the ollie button is KP2 so i'm used to that and i changed it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Fear and Loathing in Direct Ports
This game is very typical of alot of the PC games coming out. It's a direct port from a console game to a PC game with very little change. The controls are extremely confusing. It instructs you to "Perform X trick by hitting the G and R key" but they don't mean the actual G and R key but rather the G and R key on whatever damn console they designed the thing on. To make this worse when you assign keys to diffrent controls it doesn't say G = ________ but rather "Ollie Tricks (Jump)". To add insult to injury on that score you cannot change key bindings from within the game. You have to close the game, use the program launcher to specify a new key, then enter the game and try it, then exit out again to change a diffrent key or rebind that action.
4-0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to the others
Overall this is a pretty fun and well made game.I think that the other rewiewers were too critical and took the game to seriously.I read those rewiews before purchasing but went ahead and bought it anyway, since I've been anticipating it a long time. Before playing, make sure to install "DirectX9.0c" when it prompts you to on the very first screen you see. Also, although I have an expensive computer with a good graphics card, the game would always lag on the "very high" 1280X1024 screen resolution setting.

4-0 out of 5 stars great! but can get boring
this game starts out great, u get to just do watever u want, but it can get boring if u play it to much.
3-0 out of 5 stars good game but yet a big yawnnn!!!
this is a good game but to be honest its way better on these systems (ps2, xbox, psp) cuz the controls sucks gameplay is good but hard cuz like i said the controls sucks but you can switch controls but still suck! graphics are the same as any system its probally the best part but the sound is good too love the music i do not recomend to any of you skate boarding fans cuz its not that much fun on the PC!
2-0 out of 5 stars Could have been better ...
Overall the game is ok but the story is so fart fetch that buying the game just for the story content its not worth it. The graphics are great and choosing from all the different pros in the game is really a great feature that the series has kept since the begining. But the story is just not good, any real skater will stay away from this game. If you are a Tony Hawk fan or Bam Margera fan this game will suit you, if not, grab your skateboard and go shred rather than buy this game. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Really Fun Skiing Game

5-0 out of 5 stars tony hawk 4
I'm confused - is this new or used.It indicates used once you put it in your cart.As well, is this windows or mac.It says mac but then has system requirements for bot windows & mac.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun game but not as expected
I've been a Tony Hawk Pro Skater fan for years, every game seems to get better than the last and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 is no exception, the addition of the spine transfer is genious, it allows for much more interesting lines and combo's than ever before. I find myself playing this game almost every day, the goals are much harder than Tony Hawk 3 and also alot more fun. unfortunately the PC version has many flaws that make me almost wish i haden't purchased it. in the bigger levels like san fransisco and kona i get alot of lag (im running a 2.5 ghz system w/128mb geforce T1-4200 w/8x agp and 1gb of ddr ram) even on the lowest setting 640 x 480 i experience it. the only way to get rid of it is to use distance fog which makes finding the skate and combo letters nearly impossible, not to mention distance fog is just plain sucky. setting the spin and switch buttons can't be done because you are forced to have them be shared as 1 button and this can't be changed. 5-0 out of 5 stars A true skating game...
I never thought that THPS4 would ever come out on PC, but here it is!As soon as I saw it posted here, on Amazon.com, I instantly had it shipped. It just arrived yesterday, and it is so cool! The graphics are a lot better than they look on the screenshots, and the cheats are awesome!A definate must-have! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not too good
This game is pretty cool because you have to manage money and get skaters to come. When it comes to the actual skating around your park it is bad. The tricks are limeted and you have to learn yoga to link them together. If you want a game just to build this is fine but if you want to actually skate by a tony hawk pro skater ( underground is coming out and thats really cool). ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Boarder zone review
This game is one of the great underapreciated games of the past few years. It is not flawless, The Halfpipe is poorly modeled and the limited selection of music gets annoying very very quickly. That being said there are many more redeeming features than condemning ones. The Method of performing tricks is brilliant as well as the physics which are some of the best i have ever seen in any game period. The levels are huge and diverse and each one can be replayed thousands of times and still remain fresh and new. This game is Vvery very good and as it is older it is quite reasonably priced. A must for anyone with even a passing interest in snowboarding.

4-0 out of 5 stars Boarder zone is IN DA ZONE
Boarder Zone is a very cool game. It is very reallistic, with the levels, animation and boards. There are three types of ways to board: time race, BIG air, and half-pipe. There is also a practice level, which ,I think, is the best one in the game. I didn't give it 5 stars because it can be kind of boring after playing it a while.

4-0 out of 5 stars Boarder Zone missing some key points
Hi! I just got boarder zone today and it is really fun! But it's missing some key things a snowboarding game should have. For example, most snowboarding games have some kind of half pipe, but this game does not have that. Another thing is that it does not have many optional courses to choose from, and it only has 2 modes, trick attack and racing. My opinion is that you should only get this game if you are a snowboarding game fan. Other wise, you should probaly get a diffrent game because this game will get boring really fast if you aren't a huge fan of snowboarding! But for a game boy game, this game passes out every other snowboarding game on the market! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars pretty cool
So-So graphics, cool assortment of tricks that aren't in thps1/2/3 (uh-oh, i feel that people are going to explode for that thps3 crack) and cool characters. The only con, you have to download seperate software to create levels (you heard me).

3-0 out of 5 stars ok
This game looks ok. It is cheaper than the tony hawk games, but I don't think the quality is as good. I'd rather save my money for something that's better made, like tony hawk's pro skater 2. I think there would be more detail than this one. It looks decent, I guess. You decide!

I'll just get to the negatives. The reasons I gave it only 4 stars is:

5-0 out of 5 stars Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
This game is awesome and addictive. It took me about 1 yr to beat it, then i got the cheats for it. Its fun with the cheats too. Thers i think maybe 8 diff skate parks, but once you pass them, you got 3 extra parks...plus you have a slew of pre-made parks to practice on. So even if you['re bad] at the game you can ride the pre-made parks. You can also make your own parks, and it's easy to make. You don't need to know any programming.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good for a computer game
this is one of the best computer games i have played. unfortunatly that doesn't mean much as i tend to be pretty disgruntled with games despite the fact that i remain fairly obsessed with them. i played this one maybe 90% of the way through with one skater before becoming sort of fed up and losing interest. but for awhile there i was quite a fan. on the plus side alot of the game is nicely constructed. on each level there are all these goals to accomplish and lots of rewards for doing it- this is true of most games (though too few sports games), but most importantly for much of the game you feel like you're improving- and you really are! it looks neat and has a wonderful feel to it and i loved all the scoring and the detail of the scoring. i liked how it all broke down into little 3 minute or less runs, it sort of combined some of the enjoyable qualities of the traditional (or i guess old) arcade games with all the modern graphics and style. i really liked this. it felt unique too. i mean sometimes every computer game, even across genres, can feel all the same to me, but this felt like a new thing to me.
5-0 out of 5 stars great game
Scate as a scater you make or pick through places you never dreamed of. You will love this game! It's better than the other 3 games. Buy it now! Ages 9-25.

5-0 out of 5 stars THPS3
This game is the best on my cd rack. Acually it never comes out of my computer. The third game in this series is another step up from 1 and 2. With added tricks and all new parks it makes it that much more interesting. You are not the only one in the park anymore. There are pedestrians walking aroud and asking you to show them your moves ( Which gets you extra points). They have also added Bam Margera to the lineup of pro skaters and he deserves it. The create a skater has gotten way better. You can find anything you want to put on them and make you or people you know. You can also change the original characters. Imagine having the power to make tony look like anything. Make boys or girls. Park editor is better too. Here is a description of all the parks:Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars just plain awesome
This game is awesome, the graphics are great, the moves are rad.the skateparks are awesome, there are a lot of hidden tracks that are easy to win, there's even new riders and boards that make the game even more awesome to play, you can really get some big time Air and pull off some rad moves while up there.. you can do some cool grinding and flat tricks, ride rails, walls, and jump all kind of obstacles that are on the numerous tracks available. THis game is just plain awesome to play...

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
Ok, this game is the best pc skating game available now.....u ntil 10/25/00 when tony hawk pro skater 2 comes out for PC.The andy macdonald game is definitely worh the money, it's a lot of fun, the levels are huge, and there are lots of tricks to learn.I've been playing it forabout a month now, and still haven't seen everything in the game,....But, the guy who said that it blows tony hawk away either doesn't skate, or has never played the tony hawk 2 pc demo.I cannot wait another 2 days for the full version.I have the THPS2 demo, and for the last week, I havent even booted up the andy mac game because there is so much to do in the one level you get with the demo.I love both of these games, and am so relieved that you no longer have to buy a game console to get a really good skateboarding game.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!
