3-0 out of 5 stars Flaws aside good retro value!
Okay ... I agree with some reviews here.SINISTAR is a mess - you really can't control your ship too well with it constantly thrusting, ROBOTRON is a lacking in that you can't fire in a direction you are not moving, JOUST fares pretty well but again some control issues, and DEFENDER is hard to see even on the well lit SP screen.1-0 out of 5 stars Sinistar is broken!
... I wanted Sinistar! The ship won't stop thrusting. I'ts like playing a broken arcade machine. AAAGGHH! The game's only plus is that this Defender works. The new GBA Defender is messed up just like Sinistar. Both these games were put out unfinished!

1-0 out of 5 stars Stinks
This is absolutely the worst arcade translation I've ever seen. Defender, Sinistar, Robotron, and Joust are great arcade games, and have been faithfully reproduced on other platforms, but this sad attempt bears little resemblance to the real things. That might be okay if the games in this implementation were playable on their own terms, but they're not. Defender/Joust for Gameboy Color is much better than this pathetic garbage. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute simple TETRIS with the Tiny Toons!
This game is a Tetris-style puzzle that uses eggs instead of blocks, and is played on a smaller field. You get Tiny Toons characters who come in and help you -- they clear rows mostly. There are three modes of play - "SURVIVAL" which is 1 player just like Tetris, "PUZZLE" which is like a tournament version where you have to eliminate the entire grid in as few moves as possible, and then Multiplayer or against the computer if nobody is playing with you.5-0 out of 5 stars where can i get this!

  • Marble Madness - Guide your marble through various courses, to reach the goal. Avoid the marble munchers, the steelie marble, acid pools and the marble-sucking vacuum. Race against time as you beat obstacles like mazes, ice patches, tunnels and catapults in a fun all-ages romp!
  • Klax - The concept is simple, the challenge is not. Colored tiles tumble down a conveyor belt -- catch them and arrange as instructed. Use your reflexes to stay ahead of the game as things begin to speed up!

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible in General
Marble Madness=Boring Hourse of 'entertainment'
1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid!!!!
This is thw rost port of Marble Madness I have ever played. It is impossible to control the little marble. It moves sluggishly, and unexpectedly wanders off of the platforms at unexpected times. Collisions with enemies or wall will often cause unexpected results, and certain parts of the game are just plain broken. Also, some obstacles and traps have been changed (to save time for the programmers?)

Editorial Review

In this cartoon arcade-style puzzle game, players battle one another to be the quickest to build a tower out of blocks. Facing challenges that include ascending water, battling enemies, and avoiding the environmental hazards within each level, players must catch the falling blocks and drop them into their correct positions before the rising water consumes them. The object of this game is to be first to reach the top of the level and locate the pull chain that is used to flush their opponent’s tower. There is a single-player mode in which players are pitted against a computer-controlled opponent, and a multiplayer mode in which players can compete against a friend via a GBA link cable. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Not much variety!
I just got this game and thought it was okay.It wasn't very challenging or fun.Definately for the younger age group.

5-0 out of 5 stars really fun
I have owned this game for a while. I love the cartoon eggs. I like Tetris but often find it boring after playing it for any length of time. I think the cartoon nature and presentation of this game is why I like this tetris style game. It is very easy to learn. There are lots of little tools you can use to help yourself and mess up your enemies. The music is great. The graphics are beautiful. It is a great puzzle game and a wonderful way to waste time.

1-0 out of 5 stars Boring

4-0 out of 5 stars Splendiferous
The original Sabre Wulf was made for the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 back in 1984. It spawned 3 sequels called Knight Lore, Nightshade and Underwurlde (plus 2 further sequels that never got released called Pentagram and Mire Mare). Now arrives the 4th sequel, once again called Sabre Wulf.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good times to be had by this GBA title
Finally, a game that embodies human disdain for wild animals AND mad scientists! Guide the now geriatric Sabreman and his pocket zoo (you will have a library of animals to help him out along the way) on a quest to stop Dr. Doo-Little Good and Sabrewolf while fetching orchids, toboggans and other lost/desired objects for the helpless villagers. The graphics and plot line are pretty consistent with Nintendo standards and the game is basically played with 2 buttons and the thumb pad. I also mentioned the pocket zoo; to get past certain obstacles (like a boulder or angry snake) you have a collection of animals that you can `use' to fix the situation. For example, you can use a large bear with a club to smack enemies out of your way, or perhaps a larger, tubbier animal that lets you bounce on his belly to leap over a boulder you otherwise couldn't get past yourself. No big surprises or puzzles here, but with entertainment in the form of short, simple, game play, Sabrewolf envelopes the whole idea behind the Game Boy Advance. I was able to fill every free moment of line waiting, commercial breaks, conference calls at work and travel via public transportation. Good times.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally a game I finished
I loved this game.It is hard for me to finish games, because you will reach a level that you just cannot pass. This game seems to cut you a break after some effort so you can move on.

3-0 out of 5 stars Password is Annoying!
This is a great puzzle game and would be well worth 5 stars if this game didn't have passwords for each level. This is a GBA game, shouldn't we be pass the password stage?I have just finished level 4 and in the beginning I thought this game would be easy.Boy was I wrong.Around level 4 things begin to pick up and the game becomes more the puzzle game I was expecting. The best way to compare this game is to Tetris 2 because of the matching colors and the stars, but really I haven't met any comparison to this game.3-0 out of 5 stars Rampage history

4-0 out of 5 stars Difficult game but fun none the less
I'm 25 and can't win. Although I'm not the best at all video games but I think I'm decent. It's hard for the little ones but it is fun even if you don't win.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fortress
This game is okay. It's not the most exciting game, but if you need something to get started with, I would reccomend this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's a nice game for the price
...Who ever gave thisvideo game 1 star probably doesnt remember that they only spent [a little] on this game. And for [a little] game..it's pretty good. It's a pretty simple concept with some strategy added on the side. The battles are short, the blitz's are short, and the tournament's are short. There is no actual "end" to the game..which in this case is sort of a good thing. Just mindless fun. And hey..there's multiplayer! What more could you ask from one of the cheapest video games ever made for gameboy? I should warn you though..Don't be fooled by those cute little characters on the box! This is DEFINITELY NOT a game for little kids..not because of violence or anything..just the whole concept if probably a little out of their range. RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH NO MONEY OR ARE BEING INTRODUCED TO THE GAMEBOY ADVANCE CONTROLS ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Muppets rule but this game drools ...
I Love the Muppets ! And I thought my neice who is 4 might enjoy playing this game since she usually plays my GBA when I come over to visit. I played this game and found it fun and funny at first but after finishing the game in less than an hour. I found it boring bcuz all the levels just repeat itself just at a fast pace. I agree with all the previous reviews that this game is definitely more suited for younger gamers like 3-7 yrs. old. I wouldn't say I regret purchasing this game but it's a game that I would probably consider trading in for money to buy something better. Only thing that I don't regret about buying this game is when I purchased the game there was a table full of games and accessories where when I bought this game I got to pick something off the table of equal or lesser value for FREE. I bought this Muppets game and got a Free Gamecube game to boot so that's the only thing that makes this worthy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Muppets Out With Your Money
This game is rated 'E' for everyone. If everyone is brain dead, they might enjoy this game.Or, it's 'E' for early readers.A four or five year old might enjoy this game.We were hoping for something similar to 'Muppets Inside' a very good computer game. The graphics are not good.It isn't much fun.I'm not sure why this game was produced.Perhaps, they were just testing the waters to see if there was interest in a Muppets game.Well, if it was a good game, yes. But, don't waste your money on this. There is no challenge, no replayability. If you want a Muppets game for your GBA, get 'Muppets Pinball.'It's fun, and replayable, you will enjoy that one.Or, if you can find 'Muppets Inside' for your computer...get that.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun Game for Younger Gamers
Unfortunately, Muppets: On With The Show offers very little beyond good looking sprites. The six mini-games are great at capturing that Muppet feel, but they don't do anything with it.Each mini-game only lasts about 3-4 minutes, but do you really want to bash rats on the head witha frying pan for that long? And after you do it what's next? How about pushing the A or B button for 3-4 minutes in time to music? The Payoff?A Heckle from Statler and Waldorf.Hardly something I want to work towards. If these mini-games were part of a larger adventure they'd be enjoyable, but as the main dish, they're just unappetizing.A lot more substance and variety is needed.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars It's a knockoff of Bomberman
Hey! Somebody replaced the mad bombers in my Bomberman game with Muppets! Actually the game in question (and beileve me, it will raise a few) is Planet Monsters, a multiplayer maze game that happens to look and play a lot like Bomberman. Instesd of dropping bombs, players kick the blocks that comprise the games mazes at one another. To spice things up, the developers also tossed in power-ups, boss characters, and non-player mutants that kill you with just a touch (not fair is it?). Nonetheless, the game reamins a simple Bomberman knockoff which would be fine if the GBA didn't already have a Bomberman game.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME puzzle, logic , action game
I am an adult who enjoys puzzle games and I really liked this one. The planet has been taken over by monsters and you must "fight" them to see who is the best. You must work your way through a maze of blocks and eliminate 3 monsters. There are 8 worlds with 5 levels each and a boss at the end of each. You can use the A button to push blocks and squash the enemy, or you can pick up special items such as a bubble gun to freeze them, a clock to stop all of them for a few seconds (both of these make them easier to squash) or a bomb to blast them. The enemies can also pick up these items, so get them first! Aside from the 3 you must eliminate, there are others who will harm you, and when you kill them, they will leave a reward to pick up for points, however, they will regenerate. There is a radar screen in the bottom corner which is very helpful when trying to locate the 3 enemies. You accumulate points by eliminating any monster and for the time you have left when all 3 are defeated. You can earn extra lives by getting points, or collecting all of the letters of the words MONSTERS and/or EXTRA.There is a password for each world, but beware, when you use the password, you start at the beginning of the world with zero points and only 4 lives. I think the graphics are great. The monsters are different on each level and the mazes contain unique obstacles. The bosses are a challange, but not impossible to defeat. The levels of difficulty merely increase the speed - whoa it gets fast. I felt this game was well worth the money.

2-0 out of 5 stars Sometimes, "Bad is Bad"
Awkward and dumb only begin to describe this stinker of a game. According to this game, you're a monster who travels from world to world, fighting other monsters in tournament battles, in which you can kick blocks and use bubble guns to eliminate your opponents. Having fun yet? With pitiful graphics, good play control, dreadful music, and the most ill thought out game design since...I can't even remember when, this game should be played only by the simple minded. I can't help but feel my brain shut down while playing this game, but hey, maybe you'll enjoy it. ... Read more
