1-0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous nickel and dime product from MS
I find it outrageous that Microsoft does not enable DVD playback with the basic game console. I have a PS2 and it doesn't require special enablement or a separate contol.I can simply put a DVD into the console and then I'm able to contol the playback using my game controller.Sure, if MS wants to charge for the remote, that would be fine for those customer that need/want that wireless convenience. However, I think this product is just another annoying anc costly "gotcha" from MS.
5-0 out of 5 stars Saves you $50
The Xbox DVD Movie Playback Kit is very easy to set up and use. All you have to do is plug the little receiver into one of the controller ports, put in a DVD and enjoy. The buttons on the remote are responsive and easy to get used to. However, the Xbox DVD system is very simple. It doesn't have any eject buttons (something mentioned many times by other reviewers) and not as many options as more expensive stand-alone DVD players. You have to keep in mind that it was made for people who already have an Xbox and don't want to shell out an extra $50 for a DVD player that has a lot of special features when all they want is to be able to watch a movie. The DVD itself runs exactly as it would on a good stand-alone DVD player. It's sort of like one of those little $100 digital cameras. There isn't anything really special about them. They just take good pictures that you can put on your computer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Xbox DVD Kit
I know that many of you probably had DVD players before you picked up an Xbox. That's simply the case with early adopters. However, that doesn't mean you should automatically skip the Xbox remote. Firstly, you need a remote control kit for playback. You cannot simply stick in a DVD and start monkeying around with a controller. Sorry. There are several remotes to choose from, but the official model is comfortable and well laid out. If you've ever used an RCA remote than you can guess how it feels and how it's organized. I would guess that for many readers their Xbox is a secondary DVD player. Small, easy to use, and relatively affordable, the remote adds much value to your big, black box ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good
I like this conroller but I prefer the bigger one though. I have wird hands.
3-0 out of 5 stars Anti-Sweep
I like a lot those gadgets, considering my 46 years old. Most of my son's games are X-Action game that make me sweet a lot.
4-0 out of 5 stars FINE FOR CASUAL GAMERS
Okay, so you have your Xbox ready to play. You are putting the giant "Bigfoot" controller in your hands. You are sitting on the couch wondering if your hands will ever be able to fit around this monsterous controller.Well, now they will thanks to the new Controller S from Microsoft. This controller is perfectly sized for small and large hands. You can move it around easily, and it is more compact than the original Xbox controller. It has wires, but they are very long so they can reach to your sofa or easychair. When I got my Xbox, I bought "Project Gotham Racing" with it.It came with a basic "S" controller, and I was very happy.Even better, It is less confusing to use than that of the PS2.Even though the PS2's controller is nice, it has very odd button placement and the buttons are close together, so you can't really get a grip on the controller. The Controller S is very well designed with smaller children in mind. The only flaw that this controller has is that when you play a game with a lot of vibration, the little spinners that make the controller vibrate, get loud and annoying.I think that this may only be a problem in my Controller S but maybe it is a flaw in a load of them. The price is reasonable for a wired controller, but for an extra ten dollars, you could get a Logitech Wireless controller. They are very good also, but you have to push down on the A, B, Y, and X buttons for them to work properly.

3-0 out of 5 stars WHY NOT INCLUDE WITH XBOX SYSTEM???
A FEW YEARS AGO, WHEN I GOT MY XBOX GAMING SYSTEM, I NOTICED THAT IT HAD A PICTURE OF A DVD PLAYBACK KIT ON THE BOX IT CAME IN.I THOUGHT THAT IT ACTUALLY CAME WITH THE REMOTE.WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT IT DIDN'T, I WAS PRETTY MAD BECAUSE YOU PAY $150 FOR THE XBOX, AND THAT SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO COVER THE COST OF A REMOTE.I BOUGHT THIS REMOTE AFTER AWHILE, BUT THEN THE COST HAD GONE DOWN, SO I DIDN'T REALLY THINK THAT $20 WAS A LOT TO PAY FOR THIS REMOTE.THE REMOTE WORKED FINE, BUT WHY NOT INCLUDE IT IN THE XBOX PACKAGE.THANK GOD THAT I DIDN'T GET THE DVD REMOTE FOR THE XBOX 360 YET.THEY COST ABOUT $40.THAT IS TOO MUCH TO PAY FOR A REMOTE.I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A DVD PLAYER, BUT I WOULD IF YOU DON'T.I THINK THE PRICE IS FINE, BUT THE PS2'S IS BETTER.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simplicity
A simple DVD player, as long as you or a friend own an X-box console. Simply push in a little plastic knob into the controler socket and their you go oyu know own a standard of the line DVD player. The maginfacation is great the rewind and fastfrward is great.
4-0 out of 5 stars Ok, but not great
I went the bargain route and I got what I paid for.It works fine, but it looks cheap sitting next to my high end receiver remote.I ended up using my wireless controller for movie playback. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars would not recommend this controller
Bad product. The analog stick gets stuck after just 1 month of moderate use of the controller. The money is better spent on getting another wired controller S.Battery lasts LONG though.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We bought these controllers for my daughter's gamecube at first, the kids liked them so much, I bought 2 more. That was 6 months ago. They still work great!!
3-0 out of 5 stars One big (small) problem
I have the wired Microcon, which has exactly the same layout. It is well suited to my small hands, with one glaring exception--the Start/Pause button is situated immediately to the left of, and very close to, the D-pad. It's not so much an issue for games where the D-pad is used just for switching weapons and the like, but for any games such as fighting games that involve fast action on the D-pad, it is all too easy for your thumb to slip off and hit pause by accident. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars good steering wheel
I haven't even ordedered it yet but i am going to. i have read all the other reviews and it seems like a good wheel. so don't hesitate to order. i am not hesitating so why should you.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a good wheel
This is the first steering wheel for a video game that I've gotten, and I am extremely pleased. It greatly enhances Gran Turismo 4 for the playstation. Most of the other reviews citing drawbacks were more or less true, but with nothing to compare it to, I have had GREAT FUN with this wheel.I highly recommend it.It's tight enough to feel your actually steering the car, and the vibration lets you know when you're holding the car online.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Wheel!
i got this for my birthday, and i have to say it works great and seems to be the best wheel on the market. the size is just right, the leg stabilizers keep it firmly in place, and it actually has pretty good sensitivity. I have tested it thoroughly with my Xbox in Sega GT 2002, Rallisport challnge, and Midtown Madness 3. it works great. i noticed a few people were complaining about the deadzone, if you read the manual it's simple to lower the deadzone to almost zero. my only complaint is the pedals, the rubber feet don't do a very good job of keeping it in place, as they are closer to plastic than rubber. overall it's a great periheral and it adds a new element of fun to all racing games. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars To The Beat Of The Song
With the success of Dance Dance Revolution sweeping the arcades, many people have the definite need to shake their grooves off to those delightful dance games right in the comforts of their own living room. That has definitely been truee to the bones with this beat pad which is highly suggested for both PS2 and Xbox owners, not as much for Nintendo Gamecube owners though. This is easy to use and essential for each step if you've played DDR at home. Gamecube owners however might want to consider going for another dance pad, like the Beat Pad Mad Catz designed especially for MC Groovz Dance Craze, or DDR Mario Mix which just recently hit the store shelves all over again, after a near seven month absence. Step lively, step.

Buyer beware. The photo of this product shows a microphone and states it comes with a case and manual. My son order this and got a scratched disk in an envelope. No CASE, No Manual, and no microphone.Try to find someone to contact on the Amazon home page.Go Ahead I dare you.I will never purchase anything from Amazon again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Who cares about the game
This is one of the worst games ever released for xbox, but thats not the point, the point to buy this game is that its the only way to transfer music and videos to you xbox without hacking it. So this is definately a primo choice for only 9 bucks. So if you want to transfer files to your xbox this is your one and only choice w/ out voiding your warrenty. Definate a worthy buy.

1-0 out of 5 stars What a POS, do NOT waste your time
I was hoping to find a simple way to play mp3s across a network on the xbox. This product looked promising. I realized that it would not stream the music from a share but rather require importing, however I thought I would give it a try.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST CONTROLLER EVER!!!
In my time with the Xbox, I have gone through a lot of controllers (Pelican Afterglow, Black Controller S, MadCatz, etc.) but I have thrown most of those out, thanks to their lack of comfort and quality.I still have a Wireless Logitech controller, and use that for 1st player most of the time. The first time that I used this controller, I instantly knew that I had to buy one for my Xbox. This controller works great with every single game I own.Nothing happens on it to make me dislike it.Now instead of using the Logitech for 1st player, I just use the Controller S.Buy it!!!You won't be dissapointed!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The way to never stop to play.
This is a way to never sleep again'. The Xbox is a powerfull tool to play a lot of excellent games that you can enjoy all life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Takes a licking and keeps on ticking
After buying the cheaper no brand controllers and having them last less than a month i finally invested in the real controller. I was not disappointed because my 4 year old is very tempermental so whenever he loses which is very often he slams the controller to the floor. I am happy to say that after months of this abuse the controller is still hanging in tough and working 100%. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Overall, not bad
I got this lightgun for two reasons. One of them is House of the Dead 3. The other is, since I have a modded xbox, MAME. This gun is great for house of the dead - it's far better than using the joystick. However, I had some calibration issues. Maybe it's my TV, maybe it's the gun, I'm not sure. It aims allright, but the movement definatly is not 'silky smooth'. Now, in MAME, this is a different story. I have no experience with other lightguns, so again, I don't know if it's only this one. While I got the gun to work fine in MAME, it simply isn't accurate enough. The cursor jumps all over the place, and you simply can't aim properly. This is especially bad in games like Police Trainer, where you need to be able to accuratly hit targets - the cursor jumps from time to time.
5-0 out of 5 stars Light Gun
This light gun is solid and accurate. I play House the Dead 3 on my Xbox for which this light gun enhances the gameplay by 10 fold versus the joystick.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's probably the best light gun out for the Xbox.
I hate Mad Catz. For years, I've refused to buy their gaming accessories. All I'd hear about their memory cards is that the files would be erased after a few months, and some would be corrupted to the point where you couldn't save on the any more. Their controllers constantly get a bad rap, and for good reason- I don't see why anyone would want anything other than a first party controller. But when a friend (who I always go to first for advice on things like this, as he's an even bigger gamer geek than me) showed me that he gave in and bought something from Mad Catz, I was amazed. Him, a respected gamer/friend of mine for years...buying a light gun from an awful company? Then again, he didn't have much of a choice- all the other Xbox light guns, the few that there are, are junk. So when I bought House of the Dead 3 the other day, I didn't have a choice, and got this gun.

I purchased this controller for my son thinking that it was going to work well for his small hands. I was disapointed to find that it is essentially the same size as the small microsoft controller so in that regard it has no value.

5-0 out of 5 stars Logitech Cordless Attack Controller for Xbox
straight up...this controller is SICK..nice dark green color (halo style) with no vibration... from my experiences, i believe that the vibration can throw off my concentration... also wears the batteries down to quick (black logitech).. this controller is just at precise as the precission controllers and as a bonus.. or so it might seem.. the attck controller is actully lighter than the other logitech controllers and seems to be pretty durrable.. all in all.. this ocntroller is one of the best wireless logitechs i've ever used.... very responsive..NO LAG

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Deal
These controllers are a great alternative to the expensive x-box wireless controllers or even to logitech's more expensive wireless controllers.Though they do not have a rumble feature, this allows for a longer battery life, plus a lightweight and easy grip. The controllers respond immediately and are easy to adjust to.We have had no promblems with response or delays, and it's great not to worry about dragging a cord around as you play.I would recommend these to anyone searching for a wireless Xbox controller... you won't be dissapointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars logitech wireless attack controller
If you want to know how the controller looks you can goto the logitech web site, or look up the logitech wireless precision controller. This controller is identical except it is made of translucent green plastic (think halo x-box color). The controller works great, is light weight and fits well in your hand. The battery life is good, the controller is constructed solidly, and have had no problems with signal nor with adapting multiple controllers to the system without interference to each.Has created a whole new level of game play by freeing me up to play where ever I want. The wireless receptor that plugs into the x-box outlet has spots for plugging in a memory card if you chose to.Basically if you don't mind green instead of black you can get this controller and save yourself $8 as for whatever reason the black version is being sold for $35 while this version is going for $27. ... I bought these controllers because I thought I would save myself some $. It was about $40 for both when I could get another brand for $40 for a single controller. The design [form-factor], and are a bit smaller than the standard controller. I don't like the placement of the back and start button. Also vibration is really, really weak compared to the standard type-S controller. My biggest vice is that the controller's lose their connection all the time, which is really annoying when playing because you mess up all the time in the game just because the controller goids out.

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent Controllers, Good Price
I bought these because they came with two wireless XBOX controllers for about the same price as you could get a new XBOX brand controller with a wire. When playing Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, there are two speeds: run and not run. This is very frustrating when trying to sneak up on someone. The other controller works alright. A cool feature is that the controllers go to sleep after 2 minutes of inactivity. That saves some battery power. The controllers are nice and compact, and the buttons are all positioned in good places. I recommend these for someone looking for a decent, cheap pair of wireless controllers, but not someone looking for a precision controller for serious gaming. ... Read more
