2-0 out of 5 stars I hoped for more
This game was a huge letdown. All the potential this game had went completely to waste in a Madden type effort to take more of your money. This is far less of a game compared to Mortal Kombat: Deception. I bought this amazed to see it in the store and went home to play it rather eager. I'm a big MK fan and loved the depth that MK:D created with 3 fight systems and a whole new level of AI. However the AI here is gone and button mashing is in. The computer is able to do moves, combos and air juggles that are not possible by human players. I've tried mimicking their moves and cannot duplicate it at all.
2-0 out of 5 stars DisastrousFatality!
Mortal Kombat is one of the best fighter franchise IMO. The setting is unreal with supernatural characters, mythological yet futuristic, super bloody kombat and the famous FATALITIES are awesome. The 'dialing' fighting system is a bit funky though.
3-0 out of 5 stars Great at first - gets old fast
I'd been anticipating this game for some time, being a fairly big fan of the series, and couldn't wait until the release day.

Each installment of the Final Fantasy series has featured strongstorytelling, characterization, and strategic combat, fun minigames, and hoursupon hours of captivating gameplay. The 10th title in the series is noexception. This is the first time a Final Fantasy game has appeared on thePlayStation2, and it takes full advantage of the increased technicalcapabilities. 3-0 out of 5 stars Not great.. not horrible.. just eh..
I waited a long time to buy this game because my brother told me not to waste my money.I'm glad I listened to him. This game was pretty much a bad graphic movie.I would say that the game is 60% short little movies with bad graphics, 10% beautiful graphic movies, and 30% actual game play.I was so frustrated when all I wanted to do was level up, or explore and instead I had to sit there and watch a dumb movie. The main character, Tidus, was so unrealistic as a hero and Yuna, the main female character, said "yes" as her only dialogue about 100 times! Oh my god, they would have a whole movie scene just to have her say yes!!Also, there were long pauses in between speeches... it was really annoying. The game itself was ok.By the end, the bad guy was really easy... i thought he would be more of a challenge. All in all, this game is only average. The story line could have been more thought out, and instead of a twist, it was more like a confusing reality. But an even worse game is FF X-2... Stay away from that one at all cost! The one thing I really loved about this game was the sphere system for gaining skills and abilities.I wish that could be the main way from now on. Looks like FF VII is still my fav FF game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Graphics And Deep Gameplay
There is so much to see and discover in this game. It took me over 70 hours just to complete the walkthrough and I am still working on capturing all the monsters for the Monster Arena. Someone who wanted to complete all side quests, find all special items, etc. could easily spend more than 100 hours on this game and never get bored -just incredibly deep gameplay. The graphics are also outstanding, among the best I have seen in a video game. It took me awhile to get used to the Sphere Grid used to increase your characters' stats. At first I didn't find it as satisfying as the typical method of "leveling up". But eventually I began to enjoy it and it's now one of my favorite aspects of the game. The only thing I found tiresome was how long the cutscenes were. The storyline itself was quite good. But I wish it was told with shorter cutscenes or at least gave players the option to skip through the cutscenes. Still this is a minor complaint to an otherwise excellent game. Definitely worth buying!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pure Magic!
All I have to say is that squaresoft out did themselves with X. It truly is a masterpiece and a feast for the eyes. I was lost in it's story, creativity, music, and charcters. Beautiful! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars An Immense Improvement
The promising thing about this series is that each installment is significantly better than the last. Not only that, but the Soul Calibur franchise has made a big influence on other contemporary fighting-genre games. For one, Namco's choice of deciding to produce SCIII on PlayStation 2 alone (instead of having to design it similiarly for Xbox and Gamecube) allowed them to fully make use of the PS2's capabilities. The first obvious change is the graphics; Soul Calibur II's graphics almost look childish in comparison to the more detailed and realistic style of SCIII. As in most fighting games, the main Story mode allows you to choose a character and fight various battles until you come to the final boss. However, the difference with this game is that (before each fight) you are given a synopsis of your character's journey thus far and why you have to fight your next opponent. This is a big change from a lot of fighting games, where you usually just take on one opponent after another, with no real explanation as to why you'd even be fighting them in the first place. Not only is the storyline aspect heightened, but you are also given different paths to take after battles; your choices will affect who you'll have to fight next. There are 25+ characters to choose from and each one has their own unique story.
5-0 out of 5 stars this game rocks
this game is just loads of fun espcially in a tournament scenario with a bunch of friends, and has a great single player mode overall a really fun game

4-0 out of 5 stars Not just kicks
When I first saw this game, I thought it was the same thing as Tekken and Mortal Combat. It does have this mode (versus mode) but it also has other things as well. My two boys enjoy the fact that they can create and arm characters. You choose what type of character you want to create, be it a male or female character, and then add all the attire (armor, helmets, weapons, etc.) You can even choose the voice, the hair color and the eye colors for the character, and the colors of their attire, which my sons have found fun to do. Aside from that, there is a mode where you have different quests, and they can send their newly created character on that quest, to conquer the enemy strongholds. For a teenage audience, who like the "fights" games, this I have found to be more interesting than others I've seen. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, wonderful game for a very low price
Dragon Warrior VIII for the PS2 is a wonderful game. It's Japanese, so it's done in a cutesy anime style, which might put some people off.(Personally, I found it a refreshing change.)
5-0 out of 5 stars Must-play if you enjoy rpgs
I love this game, most of all, for its charm. The characters are so well-animated and cute, when not laugh-out-loud funny. The voice acting is absolutely perfect, the dialogue is engaging.

4-0 out of 5 stars Classic Rockstar and A Nice Tribute to The Movie
I remember when The Warriors video game was announced, I was literally counting the days to its release.I grew up in the 80's and "The Warriors" was one of those movies that would appear on "The Movie Channel" on a fairly regular basis. To this day, I can still recite some of the movie's more famous lines. The movie was pure escapism, especially for young suburban teens.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game I've played in a long time!
This game (as said in the title) is one of the best I have played in awhile! I have played it and beat it SIX (6) times! The graphics were great and the gameplay was great. There's two sides to pick from both with different story lines and endings. Now I will say the ending on one side is some-what confuseing at first but I figured it out the second time around.
2-0 out of 5 stars Felt like I was wasting my time
I tried playing this game twice, and both times I got to a point where it was more of a chore than a fun experience.
5-0 out of 5 stars Jack kicks into action!
This game is really fun. It has an amazing and funny storyline. They had very good graphics and funny clips. This game made me laugh out loud plenty of times. It lasts longer than some games I've played where you finish the game in a couple of days and theres no challenge. I really like longer games with a challenge. You can follow people around on there daily schedules and make friends with them. One fun thing about this game is that you can start a fight with anyone if you kick them twice. And when you kick objects you can sometimes get items. I really can't understand how anyone could not like this game. I would rather play this game than play some bloody, gory ,and violent videogame with no story line whatsoever. Its a classic for me, and I really would like to see a sequel. It gets better and better toward the end! Good game three thumbs up! ^-^

5-0 out of 5 stars On the difficulty issue...
Most of the qualities of this game have been addressed but I want to reply to the main complaint about the difficulty level of hyper street fighter. When I first started playing it I understood all the complaints because the computer was owning me in the second stage on the easiest setting. But, I think there is actually a glitch with the difficulty setting in the game. The good news is that I think if you start Third Strike first and then exit to Hyper Fighter the glitch is negated and you get the real difficulty setting. It's just speculation on my part but the game was much easier on this attempt. Another explanation might be that I changed the turbo setting to turbo 1 and then turbo 4 and the difficulty was appropriate in both of those modes as well.
5-0 out of 5 stars Street Fighter 3 alone is worth the money
As an earlier reviewer noted, this is not much of a collection, but it is an excellent game to have. Street Fighter 3 is probably the "classiest" Street Fighter series ever made - while the action is not as fast-paced as the Alpha/Marvel series of games, it is perfectly balanced and oozes "technique" from its pores.

Is a mixture of the Original Street Fighter mixed with Street Fighter Alpha and Marvel Vs Capcom. I simply Love it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The GREATEST GTA installment!!
This is my First introduction to the Wolrd of GTA, and I Loved it!
5-0 out of 5 stars Ah, the moonlight...
I feel romantic, driving through the city in the rain with the moon in view, Emotion on the dial. I'm ashamed to admit I spend most of my evenings helping the coppers chase down wannabe's in front of the mall, 50 bucks a pop for a citizen's arrest and I just keep kicking em while they're down, cha-ching! I've bought all the properties with just the results of my do-gooder vigilantism. See, this game rewards a higher sense of morality.

5-0 out of 5 stars What you need to know about this game
I loved this game. It was well made and insanely broad in what you could do with it. If you aren't phased by fantasy violence then you'll probably think the game is a lot of fun too. But I will never let my children come within 10 feet of this game and you probably shouldnt either. Here's why.

4-0 out of 5 stars Dragon Ball Z Coming Back
Dragon Ball Z has been known for its 2d-dimmension gameplay but now Tenkaichi takes it to 3-d, the gameplay great alot of character. I Loved this game DBZ got it right this time although Budukia 3 was good to. No problems her except the A.I is a bit to strong and there attacks do more damage and take up less energy. But once you master this game its game you can keep playing over and over again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Revolutionary for DBZ games.
I enjoyed this game. It was really an improvement over the other Budekais, which I almost stopped buying, since the three seemed to be closely resemblant of one another. Why keep buying slight variations of the same game? But when Tenkaichi came along, I didn't pause to buy it. Not only did it have a new title, but it also had a new slant on things. The graphics were better, and the controls (were supposed) to be better. Did this game live up to my expectations? What about yours?
5-0 out of 5 stars My new favorite DBZ game ever
This is by far the best fighting game ive ever played from its easier combo attacks to the 3D gameplay its simply an amazing game. But sure others may rate this game poorly because of the differance in controls from the previous games in the budokai series but that is an extreamly easy problem to fix you simply go to options select controler settings and search through until you find the settings you like, (I mean isnt that what the options menu is all about.) but i strongly reccomend this game to to gamers who like any game that yog get amazing 3D graphics, a great series fallowing game mode, customizeable charcters, many new arenas that where not in the former budokai games, many new playable charcters including baby vegeta, super android 17, giant ozaru (ape) vegeta, and gohan(great ape),and many more never before seen in any former budokai game. over all this is probaly the best,(My favorite) game I have ever owned or played ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Well Designed Fighting Game
Dragon Ball Z - Budokai 3 follows in the footsteps of games 1 and 2. Part fighting game, part story mode RPG, you get to fully involve yourself in the Dragon Ball Z universe.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best of Budokai
I got this game just about a week ago, and it was so awsome! I have a tip: to unlock #16, first beat Krillin's Dragon Universe Mode once. Then do it again, and at one point in the Namek saga there'll be 2 red dots on your map. Go to the one to the right and you'll have a conversation with Captain Ginyu/Frog. Proceed through Story Mode as usual. After the Namek saga, you'll discover that you can now play the Android saga! Go to Earth's southernmost chain of islands until you find the plains. Go there and you'll have a conversation with Trunks and #16. Fly to west city and you'll speak with Bulma. After the speech is over, you get #16! I don't see anything wrong with this game, except this: I CAN'T USE ANY SKILLS! I SET THEM IN MY TRAY BUT I CAN'T USE THEM! WHY!? WHY!? Overall, this is a very good game. I'm glad to be able to do something than fight all the time, flying around in Dragon Universe is fun!

4-0 out of 5 stars Best of the Budokai series.
I think that Budokai 3 is by far the best game in the budokai series for PS2. The one-player story mode is excellent. After being subjected to B2's horrid board-game-style story mode, B3's was a refreshing improvement. I liked the fact that you're able to freely fly around the overworld map and search for dragonballs, capsules, and fights. The events are different depending on where you are and who you are playing, staying very true to the series. Furthermore, B3 has added a really great leveling-up system which allows you to customize your characters as you fight and gain experience. This keeps the game interesting and replayable.

2-0 out of 5 stars BORING!!!
Ive never been a big fan of dynasty warriors. But this game is just bad. First off on easy mode you can defat an entire army by yourself. This is because the enemys never attack. once i ran into the center of a group of enemys and i stood still. I didn't get attacked for ten minutes. Also all of the soldgers look identical. there are about three enemys that dont look the same.and there are only 4 hard fights in the entire game. Also THIS GAME IS REPETTATIVE. you have 6 attacks per character but they all do the exact same thing. And one hit kills petty much all enemys. Now this game is long but so what. If you have a huge pile of garbage, is it really any better then a small pile of garbage. and either way it is still garbage. just like this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but Love/Hate continues
Now I'm probably one of maybe 200 people on the continent that has actually read the entire unabridged "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" by Luo Guanzhong, Dynasty Warriors really messes up some of the history and the characters and yet I own 5 of the games. Why? Because they are fun as hell and they got most of it right, right enough anyways.
4-0 out of 5 stars Yea its a lil different. But its the BEST in the series
I'ma keep this real simple. Dynasty Warriors 5 is better than the rest. YES, if you've played 4 than you'll notce some changes. I suggest you accept them {u may even come to like alot of them} that way you can actually enjoy the game for what it is.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game, but drones on.....
I will have to say when I first started playing this game, I was amazed and addicted. It was creative and added features that I've never seen in any of the games I had played before. However, there is one HUGE downfall, the fighting and dungeons go on and on and on, they are not challenge, nor new, they just basically put "bad guys" in the same scenery and background countless times. It will get old very fast.I found myself playing the "drone on dungeons" just to get to some of the extra features.Aside from the dungeons, there is only one other thing I found that took away from the game...and that was the story line. The story makes little sense at times, altough the idea had so much potential near the being, it just gets shady and boring after you progess thoughout the game.
5-0 out of 5 stars Well rounded action-RPG
Dark Cloud 2 will get you ready for Kingdom Hearts! The game mechanics and quality are very similar.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite games.
I love this game so much.I still have not beat it and I bought it as soon as it came out lol.I like to play games slow plus I was in a coma for 2 months and recovered over the next year.Anyway this is an amazing game. What you must do is build cities up to 100%.You collect the materials from battles or from just going out and buying them. Then you use them to build your towns anyway you want. You can add anything, even if it is not needed. You will get a good feeling when you see your town at 100%.Then you can go into the future and walk through the town and see how it has grown or you can go into the past and see it.The graphics are great and have for a long time been my favorite RPG graphics. The controls are perfect. You can swing your wrench with no trouble at all. Also speaking of your weapon you can upgrade it.It will tell you when you have enough stats to upgrade the weapon.Another cool thing is you have a camera. You can take pictures of stuff and save the pics.Sometimes the puictures will give you an idea to build something.Be it a weapon or even a fish tank to keep you fish in.Yes there are fish and you have to feed them and bread the.It is very fun to get a hook and bait and go fishing in the little lakes and rivers in the game. The last thing I will tell you about is the ridepod. This is something that you ride around in.You can build it up over time and make it look totally diffrent. Also you can add new weapons and make it either fly or ride on weels. What it all comes down to is Dark Cloud 2 is an amazing amazing game.I never ehar that much about it which is crazy because it deserves all tyhe attention.Give it a try won't ya?If you played Dark Cloud and hated it do not worry this is alot diffrent but still the same.If that makes any sense. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Game
I read all the reviews of this game and was a little hesitant to pick up a copy.I loved the 2nd fight night and I have played it backwards and forwards.I am really not into sports games but I really enjoy the boxing games out there. This one is by far one of the best I have played.I think there are some parts to it that could have been better, but that is usually the case with every game.
4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing action, powerful moves.
We love this game, playing alone or with friends it's full of action, you really get into the fights and has a lot of boxers for each category, career mode very detailed.
3-0 out of 5 stars Round two was better- i guess they took one to many head shots
I bought round three because i enjoyed round 2 very much. I have to say it was more than a bit disappointing. The grafts in 3 are much worse. Yourboxer tires out much eiser and their are many styles that you dont get acces to unless you beat certain fighters, but i havent even managed to find most of the fighters yet. Round two was also much easier to use the between round cutman/swelling fixes. Its a good game, but for the money i would suggest round 2 ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars good concept + frustrating control = BAD GAMEPLAY
I got to give EA credit for this game. The graphic are the coolest i seen in a while.Sound of up to date, not the best only because i don't like Rap, hip hop, or R&B.A little rock would be cool, but then it might not make sense. There are a lot of unlockable in this game, in fact the most fun i had was dressing up my fighter. The story mode SUCK!How could anyone say the story is good is beyond me.Now this is where i had to take away two star from this game, the gameplay. The grapple is the x button instead of the O button like in the smackdown series. This might not matter if you never play any wrestling games, but if you have already play any smackdown games, the control can be very frustrating. Now imagine switching back and forth from smackdown to def jam, and you get what i mean.Let just say that even if you didn't play any smackdown series, the control layout is still too difficult.Another thing i found in the game that could hurt the game was the limited arsenal of moves.Yeah you get a lot of move to unlock, but it only blazing moves. The most move i see in the game was like 5 front grapple and 1 back grapples. This is a sad excuse on the behalf of the producer.Seriously this game lack moves, and is enough to make the game less fun.Thankfully there is more than enough fighter to suit your need.
5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST Game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This game is the best you should buy it. Even though you don't like Rap or fighting or Wrestling you would love it.I love Rap I even rap never mind that the point is that you would love it.
5-0 out of 5 stars The best ps2 game ever
I absolutely loved this game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Genji
I give this game 5 stars because the graphics are amazing! However the story line is too short. i still think it is one of the best hack and slash games out there and definetly worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very High replay value
This might be my favorite game on the PS2. It has a great feel to it. The best games are ones that allow you to improve at a skill as you progress through the game. It's not just about collecting a better weapon or a better set of armor...which this game has plenty of. But, it's about improving your own skill in the game, your reflexes or observational skills.
5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely Underated Game.
I have to admit, I was looking forward to this game over a year ago when the first screen shots and trailers came out. And after buying it and playing it through, this Genji didn't disappoint in the slightest.

5-0 out of 5 stars Masterful Installment
With this version of Soul Calibur, its obvious that Namco has stepped up its dedication to the series.Soul Calibur can now rightfully be called a true "A-list" series of Namco.
5-0 out of 5 stars The most accessible fighter ever
Soul Calibur 2 is brilliant in short. It isn't like those generic fighting games where you have to press EVERY SINGLE BUTTON on the joypad to unleash the mage combo omega fireball of yore! Soul Calibur uses simplistic button combos, which in no way undermine the game. Jump into the practice mode (where you can also watch moves played out for you!), and flick through the moves and you can string them together easily, but the key is remembering when to use them. Essentially, you can always mash the buttons, but when enemies start to use more elaborate and flashy combos, you get both trounced and jealous.
4-0 out of 5 stars TOTALLY AWESOME!!
This is an awesome game, totally worth the purchase, it has its difference from Tekken, as you DO use weapons. Combos and style of play are different BUT, nevertheless (I'm a tekken freak haha) I personally recommended. I got it today and by the looks of its awesome. Some friends came and we just finished playing!! Its 10 pm and they arrived at 4 pm. Lots of extras and hot girls haha. Bottome lines is GET IT, you won't regret it. Tekken fans will surely like it and chances are newcomers or just casuals will too! A friend that came NEVER plays PS2 but still he was like "DUDE, I SO WANNA BE LIKE MAXI" haha and we kept playing . So i repeat myself, GET IT. COOL GAME! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Yuck
I have loved the Tekken series for years. This is by far the worst there is. The controls are terrible along with the moves. Disapointing. I almost wish I never bought it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tekken 4
The fourth installment of the Tekken series is finally here! This game continues the Tekken series in perfection! This game has amazing three-demensional graphics, fast and very good game-play, and overall, can keep you amused for months! 5-0 out of 5 stars Tekken 4
The fourth installment of the Tekken series has finally arrived! This game is amazing! I give it an "A+" in graphics, gamplay, and amusement!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fight Night Round 2
A friend recommended this game to me and being the boxing fan that I am I wasted no time jumping on my computer and ordering it.
4-0 out of 5 stars A satisfying punching experience
FNR2 is more than just a game; it's a stress reduction tool. Nothing could be more viscerally satisfying than loading all of your weight into a haymaker and crushing your opponent's jawbone, knocking him on his behind.
4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, addictive, but a bit repetitive
Declining to spend $50 to buy the latest version of the Fight Night series, I opted to buy this title instead, hearing that it was an improvement over the initial, highly-regarded Fight Night 2004. I've read some of the complaints about those who loved the original version, and after having played this version for a while now, I can say that I agree that the "haymaker" punch is far too overused in this game.
