5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome game until...
Now, I'm not going to talk about how awesome or bad Madden 06 is, I'm going to talk about the only ugly part of the game, Kicking and Punting. We all know kicking can be the difference between winning and losing. Let me give you a scenario, at All-Pro difficulty, usingAdam Vinatieri, 20 yards away for the win, and he miss... bad. Kicking game is very hard and frustrating, even Extra Point can be a pain in the neck. I know some of you out there will say, you guys never had this problem, thats fine, but if you look at the reviews, almost everyone got something to say about the kicking game.
2-0 out of 5 stars Raymond James' Crowd was a sea of ... Blue?
I hadn't "upgraded" Madden since the 2003 version.I could tell I wasn't missing much.In fact, the game has taken a couple of steps backwards.Maybe it is different on the console boxes but on the PC there are a bunch of problems:
5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty darn fun
This game is fun. I am a big NFL fan, and I have to say, this game really is like an NFL game. I like the way you call the basic set and then decide on a play. The stadiums look like the real stadium, i.e. when you choose San Diego, it really looks like the stadium the Chargers play in. The look and feel of the game is great. They even have close-ups of the faces of players, and they look like the real player. I like the way you can click from one player to the next on defense (or offense). For instance, this morning, I was playing as the NY Giants, and I could rush using Strahan (when you click on him, his name appears), and then when the pass went downfield, click to be a corner or safety. Good stuff. I managed to return an interception 95 yards, off Kurt Warner. That was fun. I am still "mastering" this game (I still have not figured some things out, like how to punt well). I think the instructions could be better. It took me about an hour to figure out how to set the thing up so that I could use a mouse. Overall, this game is fun and authentic. I got the game for $ 9.99, which is an amazing price. I don't feel like I have to spend $ 39.99 either (to buy Madden 2007), just because the NFL currently - due to free agency - "shuffles" players in and out of teams, and teams are in some cases mostly different from one year to the next (the Vikings, etc., for instance). I will just play Madden'06. I am not falling for the "I have to update now, just because Daunte Culpepper signed with the Dolphins". I'll spend my money on something else. It would be kind of cool to play with Reggie Bush in a Saints jersey, but I will wait on that. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Filled with bugs.
Get this game if you enjoy spending 40 hours + preparing your team for the regular season. It is kind of fun, I enjoyed it although it was very tedious. However like Paul, when I get to game 2 of the season all a sudden scores start becoming 0-0 and when I try and coach my next game its two other teams on the field from a game thats already played and not my Cowboys! I tried patching, reinstalling. Tech support says my saved game files corrupt?Oh great, I go back to my saved game before the draft, sim to game 2 same thing. The only thing that works is going back to my saved game 3 hours into this and starting over and spending another 30-40 hours hoping it doesnt bug up again? No thank you. Nice try EA but next time playtest the game before releasing.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game and this is not a kids review, just a person who doesn't feel like registering
NFL Head Coach from Ea Sports is a flat out great game. I have been reading some other reviews that say "I bought this because I thought it would be like Madden but you control the sidelines... But Ea went way overboard on the whole coach thing". How can you sit there and say this isn't a good game because it does what it says it was going to? It says "Head Coach Simulation" and that is what it is. How can you sit there and bash this game for being just that? If you do not want to put 12 hours of time into this game adjusting your roster and practicing BEFORE the first pre-season game then do not buy this game. But if you are like me and love simulation games then go out and get this game right now, it accomplishes what it set out to do.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good idea lots of bugs
I bought NFL Head Coach because I liked the idea of building a team. I bought the PC version because I figured it would have bugs and I could download patches if they have any in the future.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good on game consol, mediocre on PC
Madden is still the best football game out there. In my opinion Madden 2005 was no improvement over Madden 2004. One of the biggest annoyances is that you cannot create a team and then play with it in Franchise mode. What fun! You create players, then they sit on your hard drive doing nothing. A major disadvantage versus the 2004 version.
3-0 out of 5 stars Good, But Serious Fixable Flaws.
Ok this is the best NFL football game you can buy at this point. But EA has not shown any good inovation other then in graphics. What do they need to do to make Madden 2006 a 5 out of 5? Glad you asked.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great game
Madden NFL has bested all previous games the graphics are so increadible you can see the glint of stadium lights on the players helmets. The franchise element of the game has been brought to a whole new level with the new NFL draft is the best I've ever seen. This the BEST NFL game I have ever played.

4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent choice
I thought this game was excellent. Fun and challenging with plenty of options. Worked fairly well with our Windows 2000 but the turf style made a difference to play quality, with natural turf being the worst and artificial turf the best. Create-A-Team and Player have plenty of options. I thoroughly enjoyed Mini-camp and two minute drills. The Franchise feature is very enjoyable but problems canoccur during off season simulation. Amazon's service was good. I found this game very enjoyable and thoroughly reccomend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent game.
Madden 2004 is a great game for the average EA Sports fan. There aren't many flaws and Madden is great with his commentary. The stadiums are of high detail. The gameplay is great. Sometimes it won't load. If you have run a different program before you play it, odds are it won't load either at the beginning or the end. I like the trophy presentation at the end of a victory in the Championship game or the Super Bowl. It's a great game with excellent commentary from Madden and Al Michaels.

1-0 out of 5 stars A bad game
this game was just not fun. Madden jabbering the same lines over again was plain annoying[they didn't even make sense]! The game just got boring! You played a game and could not play it for the rest of the day! It just shuat me off[most of the time]. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars COOOOOOOOOOOOL GAAAAAAAAAME!
I own other backyard games like backyard basketball, backyard soccer, and backyard baseball but this one is the best! The cool things are you can make, and name your own plays, you can name, and make your own players also when the kids score a touchdown they do dances. Some of them are very funny!Another good thing is that the players have great skills, you can play with two people, and you can play with pro players.Bad things- no bad things!Anyone who likes baseball, basketball, soccer or any kind of sport would really, really, really, really like this game.Definitley a game I would recommend!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game in a great series!
This game is magnificent, as is the entire backyard series. You can choose to be an NFL team name or a made-up one.You "draft" your players and can play singles games or entire seasons. The trick plays are great and add even more fun and excitement to the game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Backyard Football
Backyard Football if virtually one of the best computer games I have ever played. I'm a girl raised to like football and I even love it. At first I always lost the games I played but If you know the basic rules of football like a second nature and you have a little bit of practice with this game you'll surelyn play it non-stop. Great game I highly recommend. ... Read more

Very Satisfied with this bundle pack.Graphics smooth on my toshiba laptop with 1.7 qig pcu; 128 meg intel video card.Nascar was not compatible with my video card but the other games were still fun to play.Rosters aren't up to date, but i'm not a big sports guy so that doesnt matter.over all, fun game's and great deal in this bundle.

4-0 out of 5 stars Some are great, some really really suck.
I am happy I bought this because of NBA and Madden, but NHL and Nascar are unplayable and I uninstalled them both after 2-3 games.I actually threw Nascar into the garbage.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun but go with madden or primetime
The playbooks in this game are the BEST. But no season mode and limited replay value make this game no fun after a few months. But an online mode may extend life for a while longer. You should rent this game because you'll get a lot out of it but won't waste money on something that you wont play after a few weeks

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best sport game ever!!!
This game rocks because even they are kids they can still play like real profecional players. This game has cool animations and worth it if you'd buy it. I think this game is better than any other football games. I wish that they should create another cool version for backyard football 2002.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it!
I got Backyard Football right before Christmas of 2002. Over Chritmas break I played it constantly. My parents couldn't pull me away. I even ate meals while I played it! It's a really fun game. I also have Backyard Basketball witch I would give four and a half stars. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A so-so
The game is pretty easy. All my wide receivers get over 100 yards each usually, and my QB can throw over 1,500 yds a game.My rb's and fb's get over 215 yds combined! The codes are great, like the one where you can jump so high.Commentary is awesome, Madden knows everyones name, but doesn't know the created ones.Play in various types of games: arcade, exhibition, practice, season, or franchise.I personally like to play arcade style because it's like Blitz2000.Having trouble with the game in plays, well try it out on pracitces.Practice each play on offense, defensive, and special teams.Play a full season and compete online.Replay great games. Now the special effects are helmets popping and new td dances.Trading 2for 1.See your pro or created pro's stats for season and life. The music in the background is fair.Create plays and using codes unlcok, Marshalls, Robots, clowns, and more. The one prob. is that the game speed is too fast.Like once a running back is 5 yards away from all the closest player, it's goes llike this," Rice, at the 20, 25, 30 ,35, no ones gonna stop these guy! the 10 yd line, touchdown!Just like that.A player can go and run the field in 5seconds probably! All in all, the game is a three. It's really fun though.Try it!

4-0 out of 5 stars What are you saying? 1 star?
Good game. I like the music. The game runs good on a 95 and 98. The players have fair graphics. But if it runs bad turn the graphics down you won't miss much. I have bought NFL fever 2000 and to those of you who have NFL fever 2000 heres the comparison:2-0 out of 5 stars Yech...and people complain about other games more...

it's lots of fun but not as good as 06. IF you want a better game you should get 06
5-0 out of 5 stars Great
The game is great, the graphic could be a little better but me computer suck so with a good computer is would rock.No hit or truck stick but i like it that way.Simple.Godd keybord mode too.I recommed it for people with older computers

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun
This game is really fun graphics rule gamplay is fun but running is hard I play as the 95 cowboys with Emmit Smith but my run game is still not that great. Passing is easy exsept when I throw to the middle and the ref gets in the way but still good passing. Defense is a different story running D is ok but they still get like 5 or 6 yards except a few negative yard plays. pass D is embarrasing they break big ones make impossible tipped passes. The line can hardly ever get a sack. But this is a great game.I have won a superbowl .I have a logitech wingman controller for my pc it makes it so much more fun like an xbox or something. ... the gameplay of this game is horrible.if the computer is losing by the beginning of the last quarter then they just start to magically catch anything that comes their way even if you tip the pass.the blockers are constantly missing thier blocks.the recievers hardly ever catch a pass unless they are wide open and sometimes even then they drop the ball.running the ballc an be hard at times to because the defense can dive so far away.the graphics of this game are fairly adequate but i think they could be better. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars How can I give NO stars for a rating?
My review of Season Ticket Baseball 2003 is glowing. Sadly, the football game is as bad as the baseball game is good. 1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible
This is horrible its like a free game you would find on download.com. I loved the Season Ticket Baseball series but this was horrible its not even from the same developer. Its totally different from Season Ticket Baseball. I like football better then Baseball so I couldn't wait to get it. I got it and it was horrible!

1-0 out of 5 stars IF YOU ENJOY WAISTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY
I own the Season Ticket Baseball 2003, which is the best game on the market for a baseball sim, Baseball Mogul 2003 is right up there too. Figuring that the Football would rank up there with the Baseball game, was a huge mistake. There is no flow of the game, the draft is too complex, graphics are weak, and it is a pure waste of time and money. I'm sorry I opened the package, becuase if I could return it, I would. Please don't make the same mistake in purchasing this product. A huge thumbs down. Stick with the Baseball and I know Football Mogul is comming out soon... ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work
My copy of Madden 2002 is not much fun. Whenever I try to do franchise it zooms throgh the numbers. I'm sure it is fun for the people who it does work.

4-0 out of 5 stars great, but bad defense
Madden 2002 for the pc is very good graphically. An occasional frame rate problem is the only thing wrong with that.(5/5)3-0 out of 5 stars Great game terrible AI
Well, Madden 2002 is all in all good but not great. First off the AI stinks, thats it. Everything about the AI is bad, first the game plays out too slow, a 5:00 4 quarters goes out for a long time. Then its impossible to stop the defensive pass plays, there are many consectutive completions in your game. But thats the only gripe I have about this game, the rest is really good. I forgot the commentary stinks, dont have Pat Summeral do the commentary, he is dull and boring, thank god 2003 version has micheals in the game. The rookie difficulity is too easy and the pro diffuclity is too hard. On rookie I won with 49ers 45-14 vs. Saints, it is good to win, but the pro is too difficult, the lions beat me 35-7. Great graphics and real live gamplay but...Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Madden 99 only for older computers
I would recommend this game only if your current system cannot handle the newer Madden games such as Madden 2000, Madden 2001 and so forth. The latter ones are much more improved in many areas than that of Madden 99 (thus, the reason for the one star). I have switched to a newer Madden and have not regret it (the Madden 99 disc is now in my "rarely used" cd case).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!
If you are looking for some fun, you should get this game.I have many NFL games and i think this is the best one yet.The graphics are great. This game is a whole lot funner if you are playing with 2 or more people, because the computer is harder than usual. You have to be skilled to play by yourself, because the computer will play hard ball. This game is also good because it works on just about any computer. Usually, when you get a new advanced computer game, you have to have a top of the line computer to run it, otherwise the graphics, movement, and speed will not work as good as you expect it to, but on this game it will work good even if you have a cheap computer.I highly recomend this game if you are looking for some fun.
