5-0 out of 5 stars The best RPG of the pre Game boy advance era
This was the greatest RPG ever made for the gameboy (yes even better than any lame Gameboy color RPG except Dragon warrior 3 was good but not better). It was good for it's time. Sometimes some of the lines the characters say can be cheesy but it was a classic. If you are big on old school hndhelds please get this game. you'll be happy you did.

4-0 out of 5 stars With each new Legends game, it just gets better and better.
I remember really enjoying this game. The graphics are remarkably more in detail then the previous Legend games. Role-playing games have something in common which is you need a pen and paper to write down stuff people say to you.I don't remember writing a lot but you see a cave you cannot get to yet, then you would want to write down the grid; the number of squares across and down. Therefore, if you do that then you will not have to worry about it so much. I remember walking around sometimes going "where do I go" but here again if you look back at what people have said to you then you will be pointed in the right direction. I liked the game, for me the frustration level was rare.If you like older games then this will be a fun one for you

    3-0 out of 5 stars 3-and-a-half-stars; nostalgia
Final Fantasy Legend III (part of the Saga series in Japan, billed as Final Fantasy in the U.S. to boost sales) is actually a decent game, despite dated Mode-7 graphics and cheesy pre-GBA sounds. It's a standard 4-person-party RPG that requires some tedious leveling, equipment upgrades, and several quests across a variety of settings. The storyline had a lot of potential, and while incomplete at parts, should leave you satisfied at the end.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great game!
This is a great game! The graphics on this game were really good for being a game boy game. The music is excellent. From the first time you hear the title theme, you Know you're in for a wild ride. The controlls on this game are on the mark and nothing short of perfect. The only thing that may be bad (some like this) is that it is very challenging. Some people like hwne the game cannot be beaten easily. This game is one of those games. But, you have the classic Battletoad stages. Racing, beating, dodging and flying. This will all keep you entertained for hours.

3-0 out of 5 stars a difficult game
For the first time player, battletoads seems like a "ninja turtles beat em up" game but anyone who plays this will soon find that it is rather different. There are two reasons why I give this game a 3 out of 5 star rating: #1- Even though Battletoads is challenging to begin with, some parts of the game are just flat annoying! #2- The last level is nearly impossible to beat. Overall most people will enjoy Battletoads except for those who hate any kind of challenging games. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars You do not need fancy graphics to enjoy a good game.
I remember this game being pretty simple graphics wise if a bit less than Final Fantasy Adventure was, but still you didn't have to pretend the blue was water and the green was land; like Nobunaga's Ambition. You have to remember the age of this game so you can forgive the graphics. I played the Final Fantasy Legend games one after the other in 2001 and enjoyed the experience. For nostalgia it was great but if you haven't played or do not like older games you would not like this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay.... I guess....
I bought this game because I thought it was FF.But its not!It actually SaGa or SagGe or something.2-0 out of 5 stars Despite nostalgia, still a poor game
There is no doubt that Final Fantasy Legend (SaGa in Japan, billed as Final Fantasy in the United States to boost sales) was a highly advanced game for its time (1989).However, it offers nothing that its sequel doesn't offer, and the game is, shall we say, very poor. Not having the advantage of color that its contemporaries (Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy) had, the graphics are so poor that they were actually bad in 1989, which says a lot.The story is about as simplistic as they come, and you should be able to beat this game in a few hours no problem.Considering its limited availability now, I doubt anyone will really want to play this game - trust me, you aren't missing anything. My fellow "old school" RPG players will call me a heretic, but this game has nothing memorable to offer.Skip it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars FFA
I remember a few years ago playing this game. This was my introduction to the Secret of Mana series even though I believed this to be part of the Final Fantasy series. Maybe they called it this because they didn't know that they were going to make more games with the Mana tree, so no sense in saying FFAII and FFAIII. But the story line is definatly great. You start out as [your name for charecter here] in a forteress where the Dark Lord uses people to play in gladiator like fights. This seems like some of the Final Fantasy games where you start off with normal life for the charecter and then you delve into a rich story line. When you escape the castle, you meet up with a man who was freshly slain by monsters and a girl crying at his side. After talking to her, she tells you that she is looking for an old man. I forget his name since the time it's been, and from there, the story line becomes increasingly better. It was way ahead of it's time where it has plot twists and can bring out emotion in you. I was sad after fighting Medusa (won't say what happened) and at the tree of mana (my lips are still sealed) I don't have this game anymore so I am planning on buying it to beat it again -it's that great! There is also a remake of this game called Sword of Mana for the GBA but has minor changes that are enough for me to shun it because it will ruin my thoughts on one of the most gripping original Game Boy games ever. Buy it now!

4-0 out of 5 stars Simple graphics and yet lots of fun.
I have really enjoyed playing a series beginnings and this game is no exception. I first thought years ago that this was a Final Fantasy game but instead it is a Mana game like Secret of Mana. I remember playing this game and really liking it. It has a story and the graphics are not so sparse that you do not have to pretend the blue is water and the green is land, but rather when you go onto land, there is texture like trees drawn and a cave opening. If you need color graphics then this and other games of this age will not be your cup of tea. I on the other hand had a great time playing it.

4-0 out of 5 stars a lot of fun, the first entry in the Mana series
The first thing to mention is that Final Fantasy Adventure is really part of the Mana series (Secret of Mana, Legend of Mana). This is, I believe, the first game in the series with the sequel being the excellent Secret of Mana for the SNES.I suspect that the reason for the name change is simply that Square thought that the Final Fantasy name would sell more copies when released in America. This is an adventure RPG.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Same great play and the graphics are just a tad better.
I liked playing this game as much as the previous legend game. I remember that with each game I was pleasantly surprised that the graphic was getting subtlety better. I really like role-playing games so graphics is not everything to me as long as I do not have to make something up myself to continue the play. Hum, was that water I crossed? No, I do not want to do that; and you don't in this game. Seeing the beginnings of a series you really like can be a cherished experience and in turn a wonderful memory. Therefore, if you do not mind simple graphics, and like role-playing games you will like this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Unless your an extreme fan of FF
I got this game a long time ago after I bought number 3. Not to knock anyone who likes it but this is by far the 2nd worst game I have ever played. The game so insanely hard that it wasn't fun anymore. I used game shark for max stats and unlimited of the best weapons, and I still found myself dying over and over. But the story is pretty good. You have to travel through a bunch of different worlds looking for the main characters dad. You get to collect different magi, magic stones. That help you get around to different worlds. In every world their is a beanstalk thing that goes up and they all me in this big area going to the next. Progressing through the game is only hard b/c the enemies are hard, but going in the right direction is great b/c people in towns will always tell you. But unless you are a fan, don't buy this.

3-0 out of 5 stars Problematic yet strangely attractive, nostalgic
The storyline to Final Fantasy Legend II (Second installment of the SaGa series in Japan, billed as Final Fantasy in the U.S. to boost sales) is interesting, but the characters in the game are impersonal and the game's bland, linear nature will leave modern games yearning for the depth, control, and immersion that today's RPGs give. Also, the game is incredibly easy until the very end, when it becomes frustratingly difficult. You'll have the ability to customize your part in the beginning, my suggestion is 2 mutants and 2 humans, but after that your wiggle room for customization is very small.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan stays true to the once popular cartoon series and comic books. Each of the turtles are playable and all of their major enemies have been included. Increasing your life meter can be done by grabbing the turtles' favorite food, pizza. Gameplay is better than average. Each turtle has their appropriate weapon. Every weapon has the same power so the longer weapons of Leonardo and Donatello are the most useful. One button is used for attack and the other for jumping. Jumping seems a bit tight, meaning you can't get too far on a jump. Jumps are best used to go straight up to avoid enemies or making a hop on to the next step up. One other attack is done by crouching and pressing the attack button. This will throw a shuriken. Levels are broken down into stages. When you lose a turtle on a level and have others left you will be brought back to the beginning of the stage you were last on. No continues are offered so you will have to make it through without losing all 4 turtles. Before each level or when a turtle goes down you have the option of selecting another. It is probably best to begin the game with either Raphael or Michaelangelo so you can have the guys with longer weapons for the more difficult levels.4-0 out of 5 stars Simple Yet Addictive
Fall of the Foot Clan is a side-scroller in its most basic and simple form: this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Unless you have never played a video game before in your life, there will be little if any difficulty completing this one. There are five levels, four turtles, three bonus games, and a handful of enemies. Let me break it down like this:4-0 out of 5 stars Two hours to kill?
This is a great game, nice big graphics for Gameboy. There are only four or five levels and barely any foot soldiers. You start out each level by picking a turtle to play as, if they die, then you pick another. Its not all that challenging, and it can probably be beaten in a day or a week. The graphics are a bit bland, because it came out so early in Gameboy's history. Its more like black on white, no gray. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars a frustrating game
I got this game(which I wanted)for my birthday. I was disappointed. I hate the music, I hate the background, I hate the game. It is frustrating because you always have to change characters and if you mess up one time by jumping off something, you have to start all over again!! I thought it was going to be like the movie, but it is about the farthest from the movie you can get. So if you haven't seen the movie, like changing charcters 59 times, and love starting over 'til you're ready to smash the game, get this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool Game! :)
This game was the first one that I got for my new Game Boy Color. The first few levels can be a bit frustrating, because you don't have all of the charecters, but once you get past level 5(which shouldn't take long)you'll feel better.I would reccomend this game most to kids at least 10 years old. Why?My sister, who is 8, has a bit of trouble playing.5-0 out of 5 stars Dinosaur

After playing Metroid, Super MEtroid, MEtroid PRime, Fusion, and Zero I realized that the only one I had not played/beaten yet was the Gameboy version of Metroid, MEtroid 2.SO I went on one of my legendary hunts for this and low and behold I found it. A few hours Later I had beaten it and left me with some interesting thoughts.5-0 out of 5 stars Good game to add to your collection
Now this is a fun game. I tell you what. This is a fun game. I got mine off ebay (sorry amazon but the prices...) anywho the game is really cool. i think theres like 39 metroids you have to kill but the deal is yoru go though the disturbed planet fothe metroid sr388 and have to kill them all. and after you kill a certain amount theres this rumble and the lava in a big shaft room goes down to the next floor and this goes on for like 4 times. When you then get close to the "lordess" metroid -so fine- you have to fight i think 9 new metroids! which is a add on the prevoious 39 so technically theres 48 (49 if you include the queen) anyways then you anilate the lordess and for some reason on my game theres this weird red line on the wall but whatever it goes donw after teh battle and for some ohter reason theres a little excape hole under the lordess. so i guess you can wimp out and excape kinda ruins the point of a boss if you can jsut "escape"?! but oh well after you defeat IT. then a baby metroid hatches (jimminy crickets where do all these things come from!!!! fun never ends with metroid 2 ;) but then you escape the terrifing planet and go to your ship. You've got Rush the robotic dog, energy tanks, and other innovations. Once you defeat the robot leaders, you'll battle a mysterious foe, and then enter Wily's space fortress(see the melting clocks in the background? 3-0 out of 5 stars Sort of boring
This game had all of the action and side scrolling adventure as the first TMNT game for Gameboy, plus much better graphics, detailed backgrounds and far better music. However, the game was so needlessly repetitive and long that it got very boring. There are only five levels to this, very long levels, where you fight off against hundreds of foot soldiers, annoying mousers that chomp through walls and pizza monsters that are tougher than any of the leaders. I do enjoy the fact that this game had Krang with his body! No amount of graphics, challenge or gameplay could keep this long of a game going.

4-0 out of 5 stars A COOL GAME TO PLAY!
Well you have to remember that Ninja Turtles has a greenish look appearance and not color. But the graphics still kick butt and it's a loada fun to play. Yes it has six levels but it's a cool game to play. I love theninja turtles because they're bunch of ninjas fighting the evil shredder. But i have to admit the 2 meg memory of graphics kicks butt. 5-0 out of 5 stars Castlevania
In order to like this game you have to have the love of Castlevania like me.I love Castlevania and even though this game is very slow and you can't do that much, it is Castlevania and I love it.There are only 4 stages and they are pretty straight forward, and Dracula is a big pain.If you grew up with Castlevania, like me, you will appriecate this game and all of Castlevania games because all the stories go together. But if youare just getting into Castlevania stick with the new ones on Playstation.

1-0 out of 5 stars I can't believe I'm even giving it one star!
In 1989, Konami decided it might be a good idea to try putting their classic vampire hunting series, Castlevania, onto a portable console. And that same year The Castlevania Adventure was released for the classic Game Boy. Would this be a smart move, or one of the blunders of the series? Read on for my review.4-0 out of 5 stars Great classic game!
I don't understand the negative reviews of this game; yes, it requires precise jumping and your whip gets downgraded if you get hit but whip upgrades are commonplace enough that you should be able to maintain your upgraded whip throughout the game, as long as you're not getting hit every 5 seconds. To rate a game poorly because it's a little difficult doesn't make sense to me.Overall it's a great game; fun and challenging. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars a little too young
I bought this game thinking it would be an action packed adventure. It is fun, but the age groups should be for 4-10.You have to collect flowers as you move through the castle, then collect butterflies as you move through the forest, then do a slide puzzle, then go through a series of mazes, then collect more items for a while. You also get to move a deer on cliffs, and catch plates, and do one of the things where the items drop and when they are in piles of 3 they go away, and you do a matching game, and you spray vultures to make them disappear. There are 2 modes: Story and Playground. There are 2 levels: Easy and Challenge. Easy is so unbelievably easy and challenge is a bit harder but still quite easy.Overall it is a pretty good game. I would recommend it to children ages 4-10.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best gameboy game EVER!!
I am 20 years old. I owned one of the original chunky black and white gameboys. So I have played a lot of games over the years, and Im telling you: This one is my very favourite.5-0 out of 5 stars Final Fantasy Adventure
Out of all the FF I have played, this one is the best. The fighting battle is different from the rest yet it keeps you on the edge of your seat to make it very exciting.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Legend of Zelda meets The Secret of Mana
