5-0 out of 5 stars BUY THIS GAME!!!
I would rate this game as one of the best games ever for the Game Boy. Only slightly different from the NES version the game still manages to fill the fun factor to the top. For those who arent familiar with Kid Icarus, it is a side scrollin action adventure game where you take control of your character PIT as an angel of some kindto rid the world of an evil curse. Along your journey you must build your arsenal of weapons, tools, and other items by defeating enemies and collecting hearts to purchase these items to help you with your quest. The game is truely one of a kind and awesome for its time. The game also has the capability to draw you into the adventure and make you determined to progressfurther into the game. I give my highest recommendation to this masterpiece

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love This Game!
I have lots of gameboy games but this is one of my favorites. It is a platform game (which I am particually into) and not as advanced as many of the new games. Basically you are Kid Icarus and you go through various levels. You can buy things, fight monsters and look for secrets. Its a light hearted game and very fun to play! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A great sequel to the CONTRA Series
Another game in the popular Contra series, this one goesto show why the series in so popular. It managed to capturethe market because of it's simplicity in it's jump and shoot gameplay and the intuitive game bosses. The Alien wars continues in the tradition with simple gameplay and a lot of baddies hogging the screen. The sounds are good and the gameplay is easy at first and gets progressively harder every stage. This is a good game for all the action freaks and will certainly fulfill your action quotient for a few hours at least. There are about 6 levels and the bosses go in the typical contra style with huge obnoxious heads and potruding multiple limbs. The storyline is not that great and seems to be just an afterthought to the action. Buy this one and you will not be disappointed.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great learning tool
I bought a gameboy before my daughter turned 2 hoping to keep her busy on a long plane ride. She enjoyed just pushing the buttons at that point and it kept her entertained for short periods of time. Now she is almost 2 1/2 and has mastered each and every Blues Clues Game and begs to play it every night before bedtime. It teaches the alphabet, motor skills, and memory. She can remember "hidden" letters better than my husband and I! She is very proud that she knows how to play the games, and loves to teach us adults how to play!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent game for preschoolers!
In preparation for an overseas flight, I bought a Game Boy and three games for my 4 1/2 year old (with the intent of sharing with the 2 1/2 year old). Compared to the other games, the Blue Clues game had a number of excellent games, that TRULY involved pre-reading learning skills, and the graphics were colorful and engaging.5-0 out of 5 stars A terrific introduction to Gameboy for younger kids
I purchased this game for my son (age 4.5) for Christmas and am very pleased with it.I had been hesitant about introducing him to the Gameboy at this age, particularly since the games I have seen rely so heavily on violence or "levels" the player must reach to go on in the game.Blue's Clues is an exception. My son has no problem navigating the screens and I appreciate that the games start at a beginning level and only increase in difficulty as my son is successful with them. The games are too simple for my 7 year old but a great introduction for the younger set.(I agree with another reviewer that the sound is not terrific--it has a "buzzy quality"--but my son plays the game in the car with the sound off and still enjoys it.) ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Underrated classic.
With the Mega Man games achieving high status on the NES, Capcom decided to take advantage of the hand held department and released the very first portable Mega Man game in 1991.Before we go into the GOOD and BAD of this game, let me tell you that this game was the very first Mega Man game I ever completed. So in that respect, this game helped me get into the Mega Man franchise, even though I had played the first two prior to this game (again, this one I beat before them.).Read on or die:4-0 out of 5 stars My first introduction to Mega Man
This was the first Mega Man game I ever got.The difficulty was hard, but not nearly as impossible as some other reviewer mentioned. The shots do tend to be slower than on its NES counterpart, but it's amazing how well it's transferred to the Game Boy's small screen.Very fun and very challenging, with an excellent ending as well!Heartily recommended to Mega Man fans.

2-0 out of 5 stars Too hard to be fun or innovative
Take everything wrong with Mega Man 1 and 2 on the NES and you get this. Your fired shots travel WAY TOO SLOW on the Game Boy, and these stages, especially the Fortress and Space Station at the end of the game, are NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE! Plus if you lose in either you have to start over, and that means if you die at the end of the Fortress, at the hands of a Robot Leader, you have to fight the whole way back to them, and any you beat must be beaten again. 4-0 out of 5 stars This was one of my fav NES games.
This was the first NES game I ever owned. I loved this verion better then the first one, and it's heaps better then the 3rd or 4th versions.
3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
After defeating the Black Shadow Warriors, Billy and Jimmy Lee joined the Scorpions, a prestige martial arts group, in order to hone their skills. Anderson, the last Shadow Warrior, learns of their success in the Scorpions and murders the instructor, framing Billy and Jimmy in the process. As Billy you must fight your way through eight missions, effectively restoring your family name and proving Anderson's guilt. As a martial arts expert, you can punch and kick in a variety of ways and perform aerial uppercuts and flying kneedrops. You have only your feet and hands to fight with, but the assortment of thugs you confront are armed with weapons such as knives, baseball bats, guns, and chainsaws. The action takes place in and around the subway, on the streets, and at the Scorpion Dojo. At the end of the game, you must face Anderson. If you've got two Game Boys, two copies of the game, and a Game Link Cable, a friend can join in the action as Jimmy Lee. Another good beat-em-up for people who have no time to stay at home and fight.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice similtaneous brawling quest
Back again, Billy and his brother Jimmy are on a quest to save Marian from the evil Shadow street gang. There are several levels with new graphics, moves, bad guys and challenges from the original Double Dragon game. Its a totally new quest, starting in the city, brawling to a heliport and taking a helecopter ride (brawling in it) to an enemy fortress. The game play is a bit odd, because of the back attack, which is basically push B to attact left and push A to attack right fro when enemies sandwitch you. A real downfall to the game is that bad guys can really pound you and not stop until your dead. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The best Castlevania game for the original Game Boy
In the late eighties/early nineties, Konami tried to bring its popular NES series Castlevania to the Game Boy in the form of a game called Castlevania Adventure. Unfortunately, they created a monster. The character was slow, getting hit weakened your whip, platform jumping was brutal, there were no secondary weapons, and the control was blocky. It was one of the biggest blunders in the series. Not long after, Konami tried to redeem themselves with a second Game Boy Castlevania. How did they do this time? Read on for my review of Castlevania II - Belmont's Revenge.5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the original GameBoy titles.
First off: This is NOT the Nintendo Entertainment System title. Don't be fooled by other reviews--there are no RPG elements to this game whatsoever.

4-0 out of 5 stars They still sell this?
This is an OLD game. I have fond memories of this one! Basically, it's a rather simple fighting game with "gods" (Read: Monsters) battling it out for world supremecy. I guess the hook is in the characters, which kind of gets lost on the small screen. If you're looking for a more modern fighting game, and have a GameBoy Color, try Street Fighter Alpha. But if you only have an original GameBoy, or just like moster/dinosaur/ailen type things, check it out! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, good challenge, slow game
This is a classic brawling game, simply because it takes a step away from the original NES game and recreates the arcade game perfectly! From the challenge of having to brawl your way through four levels against members of the Shadow gang. Its a very good game, as the more points you earn through doing various karate moves you learn new manuvers to beat up the bad guys. Another nice touch for this game is the 1 on 1 battle mode, which features a choice to play as one of 6 bad guys from the game, big and massive with full detail; brawling 1 on 1.

4-0 out of 5 stars why DD kicks ...
I fondly remember the good old days - before playstation that is - and DD was the best fighting game around by far. I also remember it as the first game I was ever able to finish. Its 1 fault was finishing up after the girl was rescued - that was it. The moves were so cool - jump-kicking andelbowing - my favourite manoeuvre was to elbow someone and keep kickingthem until they died. Some of the bigger opponents could ONLY be hit byelbowing them I found - like the green karate guy and the big gorilla-typesand of course the machine-gun guy at the end. Sometimes in 2 player mode Iwould attack my buddy just for kicks - no pun intended ! So if anyone stillhas this one or its sequels - it's a gem from the old days. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Quite possibly the best TMNT game I've ever played!
TMNT: The Radical Rescue is not just a game of run to the right, kill the monster, grab the pizza or weapon and proceed to the boss. In fact, it's very much like Metroid in that it's very complex. That is to say don't expect to just walk in and then walk on out again, 'cuz you ain't gonna be able to! These labyrinthine passages and caverns can be confusing as hell, and there are traps waiting for you around every corner. One plot twist this game has that the others in the series never did is that when you first start the game you have only one turtle, Michaelangelo. Hence the name Radical Rescue. You must rescue not only April O'Neil, but your green pals as well. Each of them has a special move, and no, it ain't just a lame ripoff of the same move. Mike, for instance, can spin his Nunchuks like the roters on a helicopter, and yes he can float by doing this. It's useful in some boss fights. Leo has a drilling move that'll allow you to access more areas once you rescue him. Raphael can retreat into his shell and reach other areas by crawling. Donatello...well...let's just say he's got a lot in common with a certain Castlevanian pirate. He can climb walls, which not only helps in reaching hard to reach places, but also can be handy in boss fights when you're low on health or just want to conserve it while kicking serious ass. Another thing I like is the completely new caste of boss characters. Have you any idea how wonderful it is not to be facing the same old caste of Beabop, Rocksteady, Backster and Krang? Shredder of course still puts in an appearance, but he has like two forms (no I haven't fought him). To name a few bosses you'll face, Scratch, Dirtbag, Triceraton and Scale Tail.Oh yeah, and another thing this game has that none of the others do is a password system. You will recieve 7-character passwords throughout your journey, which will start you at whatever area you happen to be in. Also, if you set the final character of any password to 2 it will insure that you have two continues. If you're having trouble against a boss and don't wanna treck all the way from the beginning, there are passwords that will start you right next to all but the last boss (the final password starts you at what I will refer to as the Gauntlet where you fight each boss over again), so you can be sure you're fully charged.Read more
