The Advance SP is so much better
Before I got my Advance SP I mostly played my Color system. It doesn't even have a backlight like the Advance SP. I's have to use a stinken light when I play it and it also has horrible graphics. If your wanting to get a Game Boy for your son or daughter get the Advance SP.

Gameboy Color is minor improvement from it's 1996 cousion the gameboy pocket.The system may be in color but as the other reviewers said the colors are some what faded and are pale-like.Read more

Game Boy Color
I don't see all the hype in this portable gaming device. The games graphics are so terrible (So is Game Boy Advance). The only good Nintendo graphics is the brand new Nintendo DS which has Nintendo 64 graphics which isn't too shabby. But I really hate the Pocket and Color because it's a waste of money. Why would you get something in black and white with terrible graphics and then get one with only some colors (It's not that good) and plus the addition of bad graphics...now that's what I call a bad deal.

this isnt bad i have it and it works great i think this is better then alot of older systems like game boy or super nt but still its a good system.

I got this system last year and it worked fine until a month ago. then the sound blew out. Also the graphics on many games suck. Still it's a hardysystem and I would recommend buying it if you like a classic look in color, but if you want something with good graphics, nice small comfortable size, and a motherload of great games, buy an NGCP(neogeo pocket color). ... OLD SCHOOL ROCKS!
This is the perfect gameboy to play those old school games like Super Mario, Worio, and Kirby. Some of those games just aren't meant to be in color. You can play thousands of fun games on this and since it is older the games are cheaper like $5. These games are what all the new games are based on. Graphics and other high tech stuff doesn't matter because you can still have a blast without them.

The Power of the Pocket
Relatively speaking, the Game Boy Pocket is an extremely old handheld system. It's outdated and quite ancient. However, when I owned a Game Boy Pocket (actually, I lost mine just a little over two weeks ago), I had a great deal of amusement with it. Why? Simply because I felt that regardless of the lack of color or high-tech gadgets that many systems had nowadays, my trusty Game Boy Pocket was still "fun". In fact, I hear the new Nintendo DS has no Game Boy functionality - only a Game Boy Advance port (which I own not). That's another reason why I may not get that particular system.

GREAT!!
I liked this thing. It played in color, but used up batteries fast. The sound isn't all that great (too quiet), and the screen scratches easily.

FUN WHILE THEY LASTED.
I once had a GameBoy:COLOR-Light Blue color that was.GameBoy:COLOR is called "COLOR" Obviousley because you get them in a wide range of colours AND because they are the first GameBoy system that uses colour screen.It had a huge selection of games like the "Pokemon" series.But to tell the truth i never found interest in any of those games.My faveritegames on GBC were:

This Is a Great Game Boy!
I have had this system for at least 5 years and is is still running like NEW! I have dropped is tons of tines on the floor(not to mention the pavement)And not even a rattle from inside.I suggest several games (some of my favorites)Daffy Duck Fowl Play,Super Marieo Bros. Deluxe,And Dogz Virutal pets.Buy This system It is great and a Great price if I Had the money I would buy another one myself.

Great handheld system, great price
I got my Game Boy Color for Chrsitmas last eyar along with several games. This is by afr the best handheld system availible price-wise. The system is...cheaper than teh new Game BOy Advance if you buy it used and the games are ...cheaper as well. The graphics may not be top notch, but don't let that fool you. There many great games including the traditional Nintendo games like Donkey Kong Country and Mario games, sports games liek Madden, All-Star Baseball and Ronaldo Soccer. There is a huge library of games with hudnreds availible. ...This is way better than the bulky Game Boy and much lighter and smaller. THe only problem with it is the buttons are to close and too small which causes a problem for people with big hands like me.Read more

It just dosn't work
When i play with my game boy advance it's usually in the dark so i need a worm light.The adaptor dosn't let enough elactricity through so the sound is horrible and i can only play in the sun.I also think that it somehow burned out my worm light(also made by mad catz) because the light is almost burned out.the power light is also on the brinct of loosing it because the adaptor only gives off enought power to let the game boy surive.My light is green and red at the same time.In others words, Could use some improvement
The power flow wasn't very fluent.My GameBoy Advance kept restarting itself, something it never did before.Also, whenever I plugged it in to my GBA, the sound had a lot of static.I suggest getting the Nintendo AC Adapter - it works much better.Other than that, it was fine for casual use.

"L" shaped plug...!
I love this adapter for my GBC because it has an L shaped plug that plugs in the bottom of your player.. The others are all straight and if you lay in bed and rest it on your tummy.. the straight ones hurt you and really get in the way... The L shape plug is comfortable and never a problem... :o) ... Great games!
Though I have a Sega Game Gear too, this is just an upgraded version of the original GB. But some favorites are GBC only. If not GBC only, if using original or pocket, the games will play B&W. Buy accessories for an even better experience! If willing to pay more get GBA. GBA SP is more expensive than GBA. If so, GBA is recommended.

I have had all the gameboy game consoles except sp and let me tell you, theyre not as great as everyone says.the games are horrible , like the graphics, and the sound is ridiculous. If youre smart youd do what I did and buy a Sega Gamegear, theyre awesome!!!

I have had this thing for 3 yearsan one time i left it on overnight and the light did not burnout.I even left it in the rain once and it still worked (I don't suggest doing this at home). Over 5 years and still running strong!
I have heard that this Game Boy came out in 1996, but I have always thought that when I got my Game Boy Pocket I was four. I wasn't four in '96, but I could have been five. Well, anyway, I got this Game Boy when I was about 4 or 5 years old. Even then, it was so easy to figure out that I could play Crazy Castle for hours (if my mom had let me!). It kept a 6-year-old occupied on a trip from Florida to Pennsylvania, and even now, though I have two Game Boy Colors and a Game Boy Advance, I still play it every once in a while, and it still works! The only thing that troubles me, and has always caused me trouble, is the battery compartment door. It never stayed on, and finally I lost it! But the batteries stay in okay. This system has a contrast switch that turns the screen lighter or darker (it baffled me when I was younger!!). But now, the screen looks like newsprint, but that's probably because I'm either too used to better graphics, or it's old. But, I'm sure you'd have a lot of luck with a newer one! This one that I have is red and must be one of the first ones because I remember seeing the mesmerizing commercial on TV and then, one day asking my mom to get it for me! But, then again, a day in little-kid time is more like a month in real time, since you can't tell time when you're that young! Anyway, I think that this is a super system for anyone, especially someone being introduced to pocket games.

Sometimes Looks Can Be Deceiving...
I bought this exact light (same color and everything) and was extremely dissapointed with it. It puts out very little light and the glare is terrible. I bought it for my Game Boy Advance and I know it was made for Game Boy Color, but it barely lights up a third of the screen! It looked like a good deal (price and all), but it really isn't worth a dime. I suppose it is better than playing in pitch black, but not much better.

For example it has a tendancy to shine alot of light on 1 area and not another. Also mine, on numerous occations, got loose and fell out of my gameboy, wich as you know in the dark can be incredibly annoying and can cause you to lose the game. MEGA COOL!
WOW! this is the BEST gameboy case out there! it can hold 6 to 8 games, 2 sets of batteries, link cable, and those new nifty nintendo earbud earphones. and instruction booklets, and a worm lite. i lost mine though when i was moving, and im getting a new different case for subscribing to a magazine. if that case dosent work, im buying this one!

This Is A Must
This is probably the most convient thing Nintendo has made. I got it for christmas and it helps me organize my games. Like when i go on vacation before i had it i was searching my room for my gameboy games, now I alwyas know where they are. It is also strong and durable and it can hold a lot of games and accessories. This is a must for any gamer with gameboy.

One of the Better Cases Out There
This case is great and beats the Pokemon case although I reccomend that a lot. This case can fit a Game Boy Color, about eight games or so, and any hardware that you might own for your Game Boy. This is one of the better cases that Nintendo has made. There is just one minor problem with the case. It does not give enough support for the Game Boy. Like I said that is a very minor problem.
