3-0 out of 5 stars Big Gamer Hunter 2006
If you have Big Game Hunter 2005 season do not get Big Game Hunter 2006 because it exactly the same. The first one was fun, but I just spent my money getting a duplicate of the 2005.
1-0 out of 5 stars Nothin' but Trouble...
This game may have potential, but we will probably never find out, as every time we have tried to play it, it crashes in the first 10 minutes. Activision e-mailed us a fix, but like the "Crash Happy" reviewer above, it did not help at all. We are using a Windows XP PC system. Too bad it was a birthday present for a 10 year old. Needless to say, we are very disappointed. Deer Hunter is a much better game...it actually works.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good choice, go ahead, buy it.
This is hands down the best hunting game I've ever played. I'm comparing it to Deer Hunter 2, Deer Hunter 2005 and Hunting Unlimited 2. I've also played the first Big Game Hunter, but that's so ridiculously archaic that it doesn't even count as a comparison.

3-0 out of 5 stars Carnivores Cityscape- is it really worth it?
The first three games in the carnivores series were based on good old-fashioned hunting- with a difference. The general idea was that years into the future, a human starship discovered a planet teeming with prehistoric reptiles. The pretty much identical first two games entailed a first-person shooter hunter who had been dropped randomly onto an island to get out there and shoot dinosaurs(this ended in death once too often.) The third game, carnivores ice age, is slightly different since wizardworks came up with the rushed idea that the humans discovered(convenient) prehistoric animals of furry proportions near the polar caps of the planet. Though different terrains and new creatures were involved, the first three carnivores game were essentially the same. Strangely, as a whole, i enjoyed all three highly similar games.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great, But...
Many fans of the Carnivores series become very hostile when you mention the fourth addition to their beloved hunting simulation series. Indeed, the only connection Cityscape has with its 'older siblings' is the word Carnivores - no longer is it a hunting sim, but rather a fairly interesting first-person shooter/mauler. The story is simple, just enough to give you a reason and a backstory to why you're either creeping around the narrow hallways of a crashed starship with a grenade launcher gripped protectively to your chest or stalking humans stealthy through a complex system of water ducts. I won't go over the plot; that's something you can read about in the other reviews.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rapala Pro Fishing
This game came out in late 2003 or early 2004. I decided to try this fishing game to see if it was any good, so I got myself a copy of Rapala Pro Fishing.
4-0 out of 5 stars Fun game
Find myself yelling back at the guide who is trying to provide useful information. But all in all, fun to play.My 14 year old grandson liked it real well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game - Highly Recommend
I purchase many games for my Grandson who is six (been playing PC games since he was 2 1/2) and find that this is one of his favorites. He spends hours catching fish and excitingly showing me what he caught. He has no problems at all maneuvering around the game.Did run into a small problem after loading the game, received error message after the video ran which prevented us from going into the game mode.I sent email to their help website and was astonished at the quick response I received with perfect instructions to correct the problem. It's a wonderful thing when you ask for help and acturally receive it - good going guys!Don't let this error prevent you from purchasing this game keeping in mind that all PC's are different and this may not happen to you but should you get this error, it is well worth the effort to make a few changes and get it going.I'm really not a game player but what I have seen, I believe this is a great game for anyone of all ages. . . ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Garbage
As far as I am concerned this game is total garbage and I would not recomend it to any one. I do not know why it was ever released..!! Deer hunter 2003 is the same way I tossed both of them in the garbage. Trophy hunter 2003 is a much different story. The game play is very good and the graphics are up to par with todays fast computers...

2-0 out of 5 stars Best to wait for their next one..?
Unfortunately; this series of the Bird Hunter games does NOT live up to it's predecessors! The game has some real issues with both call and player/dog/game interfaces. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Carnivores 2
Carnivores was great. The sense of adventure, tension and general fun made it possibly my favourite PC game. But Carnivores 2? I always hoped they'd make a sequel, but, even though looking back at it it is a very enjoyable experience, I can't help saying that it was missing something that the first game had.
5-0 out of 5 stars This game is awsome!
This is a fantastic game, it lets you face up to the prehistorys greatest hunters. This game makes you use your brain, for example, when you gun fires it alerts all kinds of creatures some run whil some come for you as the hunter becomes the hunted. It has very realistic death scenes and every creature you kill is added to your trouphy room. To see a preview of this game go to [...] This is a grand game and I advize anybody thats likes to hunt to buy this game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Could be much better
I've played this game for hours on end, and it is always a mixed bag. What is REALLY, REALLY annoying is how, when you're in a safe position on a hill or something, and you sound the dinosaur call, the critters all run away, no matter how aggressive you have them set to be.The graphics are primitive in a lot of ways too, like when you can see a dinosaur right through a rock, or one is swimming and it looks like it's in the clouds. It's a decent game, but could have been much better with a little more effort. ... Editorial Review

On a routine exploration mission in 2190 A.D., science vessel FMM UV discovered a planet with suitable climate for humankind. During the initial scouting expedition, this young planet, code-named FMM UV-32, was declared inhospitable for colony life, due to its unstable terrain and immense population of prehistoric reptiles. News of this amazing planet spread, and articles on the "Dinosaur Planet" lead an earth corporation to purchase the rights to the planet and create DinoHunt Corp. DinoHunt creates the opportunity for paying customers to become dinosaur hunters for the first time in 50 million years. You are the newest client of DinoHunt Corp. Each location is unique, with varying difficulties and terrain. The new hunter will be given three choices, with two more added for the advanced hunter, and a final area for the expert hunter, for a total of six locations. Keep in mind that regardless of which dinosaur you choose to hunt, there are others living on the islands that do not appear on your radar. You may be hunting a Stegosaurus and be surprised by a Velociraptor! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Carnivores- original dino game
Despite being a bit on the simple side compared to some other hunting games, Carnivores is a pure original and still goes as an unmatched classic.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Hunter Hunted
This is a great game.I have had all 4 of the carnivores games but they do not work.So I will tell allI know about carnivores one and two and how to stay alive.
3-0 out of 5 stars Kinda disappoinitng, but has some good qualities.
This game is average. It is all about being a dinosaur hunter and trying to get dangerous dinosaurs for trophies. Despite hating real life hunters and being a nature lover, I still must say, since the weapons and dinos were cool and it was all fake, this game did have a couple of pluses. It is all right, and if you can't find anything to do whatsoever, it's probably worth a shot playing this. However, it gets three stars only because there are just a few too many bad spots for it to be in my top games. I don't have it anymore, and do not plan to buy it again, but at least it was okay while it lasted. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Another compromise
Once again, I am not thrilled with the shooting in this game. The player is offered 11 "exotic locations" and 32 game animals they can hunt.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good Deer Hunting simulation
This game is primarily a deer hunting simulation. The graphics are very good and it offers both first person and third person views. There are some vehicles which can be driven including a truck, ATV, two boats, and a snowmobile. There are some opportunities to hunt small game animals, big game animals, and fish.Every once in a while an animal will get "stuck" on a bush for instance, but this rarely happens. The game would be better if it would allow you to hunt the other animals in a similar fashion as you hunt deer. The sound effects are nicely done with different sounds for different surfaces that are walked upon. There are bridges, rivers, and lakes in the game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great fun!
Takes a while to learn the different controls, but seems worth the effot. It's fun.

1-0 out of 5 stars ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i picked up this game in a hurry knowing it was in fisherman. i knew they would give you info. about the fish. and best of all you can catch catfish!!!!!! but this game is repetative. you can use a fish finder that doesnt help. what came up as a huge fish on the fish finder was the smallest (...)crappie ive ever seen!!!!!!!!!! and the music!!!!!!! the music is what makes you angry in the morning. im like shut up. i know that you picked the first 3rd grade band you could find but at least dont tell us that. if you press mute you should have a good time w/ the game 4 4 hours tops. fish realistike and lures are realistike but i do wish the graphics were better.

2-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
I was really looking forward to playing a more modern fishing simulator. My best one is several years old. This one didn't impress me at all. I tried hard to like it and use the different features.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous Hunts 2
This game looks even better than its first version. I don't think there's any other company in this world to stand competition with Activision. In my comments on the first version I had requested Animators from Activision to improve on the Wolf's Pixel Effects, I feel they did their job neatly in Version 2. Although the Wolves jump directly onto you & u don't have the time to concentrate on anything else rather than saving yourself.
3-0 out of 5 stars an OK action game, but not a simulation
Players who expect this game to be a simulation may very well be disappointed. However it is not a bad action game. There are five areas including Alaska, Africa, India, Australia, and Russia. The animal graphics don't seem to be quite as good as the other recent Cabela's games. There is some hunting in helicopters and in back of vehicles. Some unusual weapons are utilized such as blow guns/darts, and tranquilizer guns.Three levels of difficulty are offered. Some of the animals included are rhinoceros, hippopotamus, lion, tiger, hyena, elephant, yeti, wild boar, bulls, and crocodiles. There are also some bees and snakes as well as quicksand.Stumps can be shot along the way to gain access to three hidden areas.
1-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous hunts, yah right. More like sucky hunts!
This game sucks! Don't even think about wasting your money on this game! I beat it in less than 2 hours! First of all it has completely no story, no action, and no life. The graphics mostly suck but the cutscenes are absolutely stunning! That's the only good thing about it. There are cheat codes for the game but they do not work. In the instrucions it claims that when you beat the game that you will get cheats like invincible and unlimited ammo, but what happens when I beat the game twice in a row, nothing! This game is definately not worth the $20.00! There are hardly any bonus levels and the gameplay graphics are horrible! This is one of the worst games I have ever played! Are there even any good hunting games? I have at least 7 hunting games and they all suck! This game isn't really a hunting game. It is mostly missions, and fighting a yeti. The animals aren't all that vicious looking. I mean you'd think that the yeti would look absolutely ferocious! When a vicious bengal tiger beats the heck out of you your stupid guide says, "don't kill it you idiot!" After he says that you will want to shoot him, but you can't. You can only smack him with your rifle and let him curse you over and over again. This isn't even for the fans of the first game! Your guides are always completely stupid and are usually running away, or falling off something, or walking into something, (like trees, rocks, wall, etc.) Overall this is one of the worst games in history! And don't forget to watch lost! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great overlooked game
I've been following this series since I was 13 years old.I picked up this one (which unfortunately appears to be the last) 4 years ago, and today at 19, I still think it is one of the most addictive and fun games I've ever played.
4-0 out of 5 stars The Deer Strikes back!
This is definitely a fun game.It would have earned a full 5 stars but the dialog does get tedious at times. It's goofy and lighthearted fun. There is a red SUV you can enter and drive around after all the hunters are killed.I found it in West Virginia at different locations. In the beginning, watch for the hippy dude, don't shoot him, he is your friend. He also points and gives you verbal hints in addition to the "gas" supplies. Not a game for little kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars The SUV in west wirginia
There is an suv in west virginia near the river across a bridge, but, it only shows up after you kill all of the rednecks. If you catch it in a tree or on a rock it will dissapear. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A good game overall
I got this game a couple years back for my big b-day. The first time I played it, I thought that it was the best game ever created. Then it crashed for the first time. I just figured that the computer overloaded because I didn't reboot the computer after the installation. I then figured out that the game crashes regularly after about 2 missions. This was a frustrating aspect, considering that you would expect to play for 3 hours straight and end up resetting the computer every 10 minutes. However, the game itself was really satisfying. Basically you're a hunter from the future. The Government finds out how to time-travel, so you get access to a portal by using private funding. You have only enough money left over to purchase a tranquilizing pistol. You walk intothe portal and find yourself in a lush Cretaceous forest. You embark on your first mission, to retreive a live Gastonia for "Sunstorm Interactive". You quickly discover that this a dog-eat-dog world, where your movements could be monitered by a Utahraptor, or even worse, the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex. The game's weapons are similar to a Star Trek movie, with a tranq-pistol [as I mentioned earlier], a shotgun, a sonic blaster, an electron gun, a tranq-rifle, a sniper rifle, a stasis gun, a shrink ray, and last but definetely not least the railgun. I wish that the game could have a variety of dinos, because there are only 9. They are [I will list from least to greatest] Troodon, Gastonia, Utahraptor, Quetzalcoatlus, Styracosaurus, Iguanodon, Lambeosaurus, Triceratops, and T-Rex. The AI is fantastic, with the carnivores hunting the herbivores [not just you]. Once the herbivores hear the call of an approaching T-Rex, they run in terror. The entire herd scatter until they regroup. Sometimes you'll be hunting at night with nightvision, which only allows you to see 10 feet in front of you. You suddenly hear a noise, but you don't know where it's coming from. I almost had a stroke when a Utahraptor ambushed me from behind. Another frustrating thing is that you'll kill a T-Rex, it'll fall silently to the ground. A minute later you'll hear a loud THUD from what was supposed to be the T.Rex falling to the ground. Overall I give this game a 3 out of 5. It was a good game, but it could've been better. Thanks, Sunstorm for making this game! Also I was hoping for a sequel to improve, but I guess it's not going to happen.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Dinosaur Hunting sim ever
Primal Prey beats all of the games from the Carnivores series. It also beats other dinosaur-related games, for example Jurassic Park Operation Genesis etc. But why is this? At first sights, Primal Prey looks nothing more than a wannabe hunting game, or some kind of spoof of some of its more original predecessors. To put it simply, it's not. It's possibly my favourite PC game of all time.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Game
This game is absolutely awesome! You go back in time through a time-teleporter, and hunt dinosaurs for people who want them. Some missions include getting a dead Tyrannosaurus rex for a guy who wants it's head, killing a Styracosaurus for a Chinese-food retaurant, getting live Utahraptors for a research center, and many, many, many (many many many) more. This game is really suspenseful, sometimes, when your hunting a dinosaur, you get stalked by a raptor, troodon, or an occasional T-rex. They growl when they get close by, so you know it's coming, but you dont exactly know when. It's a BIG surprise when you get attacked. I almost had a heart-attack when a utah raptor jumped me. The dino's in this game are Quetzalcoatlus, Triceratops, Styracosaurus, Gastonia, Utahraptor, Troodon, Iguanadon, Lambeosaurus and T-rex. The only bad thing about this game is that after you play about 2 missions, it goes back to your computer desktop and you have to re-boot the game. ... Read more
