5-0 out of 5 stars Top notch RPG from MacPlay
Have you ever heard anything bad anout Freedom force? I doubt it. And for good reason this game is almost completely flawless. You get great gameplay, slick, detailed graphics, tons of hero abilities, varied levels, you can make your own characters, giving them all the abilities (including edited ones) that you could ever want, you can literally rip the citys apart and either bust, swing, throw, or explode almost everything you find, and you get at least several weeks worth of total bliss while playing away at this game. 5-0 out of 5 stars I CAN'T STOP PLAYING THIS GAME!!!!
This game is insanely great (just like the macintosh!)!This real-time strategy game (aka RTS) plays very well and micromanagement is a real pleasure and not a chore.5-0 out of 5 stars What took so long?
A cool 21st century tribute to the classic comics of the 60's. Great gameply and graphics. Complex and hokey plots are perfect. Built-in heroes are fun to experiment with. You can also create your own (though it takes some work) or download others efforts from FF sites, including Spider-Man, wolverine, etc.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars one problum
the only thing i hate is that spearmen can kill tanks...granted it is possable in real life the odds are not good, they need to fix the combat stats for fighters so modern warriors do not get kill by a spearman and such. other than that great game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Spainfinatic
I have used Civilization 3 for years, and also Civilization 3 Conquests Expansion pack, for years. The infinite possibilites every time you do the game is amazing! Also, in Civilization, you don't just...BEAT the game. Rather, you beat a type of scenario. For example. One time i was Isabella of the Spaniards(!THE BEST!) and i became really, really powerful. I had nuclear weapons, and no one else did. I drove out everyone else to South America and Africa (haha!) and took Asia, Europe, and North America all to myself. Still, though, that was only one scenario, and i didn't do the space race. Actually, i've never finished the space race, come to think of it. BUT THIS GAME IS GREEEAAAAAAAT!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Addicting...sound familar??
If you liked civ 2, then civ 3 is right up your alley. All the little things that civ 2 lacked, civ 3 makes up for. The first day I bought this game I must have played for 14 hours straight its that addicting, the game actually keeps you from doing or thinking about anything else except the game... The game does not run slow at all, it runs at a speed comparable to civ2 if not a little bit faster, and the A.I. is much smarter and more challenging to contend with. If you remember Colonization and the original civilization this game has all the features you were wishing for years ago. More animation within the gameplay, not too much because that would take away from this classic strategy game, higher level of intricacy within the game engine, the game has become fully mind absorbing, you are constantly desring to improve your nation and the city improvements actually morph throughout different time periods, arial views of cities are much more appealing than we've seen before. But be warned its hard to stop playing once you start. I can't explain it, find out for yourself. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, indeed, very VERY twisted!
To begin with, I must say that usually I don't like games where you must kill or be killed. But I really like Alice. The imagination shown in the environments is unbelievable! So I just put myself into 'godmode' and experienced the game the same way I did Myst. Sure, you can still get killed by falling rocks, and you can still fall (many many times, oh yes!), but puzzling my way through American McGee's Wonderland was really fun! And although I had to kill a few characters, that was certainly not the main thrust of the game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesomely twisted
This game definitely has it all. Enough blood for those who love to kill, and enough puzzles for those who like to have an actual story in the game. It's awesome to see so much creativity in a video game. We need more games like this! Especially with the weapons. These aren't your ordinary flame throwers etc. There are a few quirks in system performance, but overall, a must have game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Twisted... but oh so good
American McGee's Alice is possibly the most bizarrely entertaining computer game I've ever played. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to live in a Tim Burton movie, this is your chance.Alice takes the classic Alice in Wonderland, combines it with the Quake engine, tweaks it into an incredibly dark fairytale and then carries through with style.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Limit to the type of case
Disaster strikes was OK I guess... I just didn't like the fact that it's almost entirely trauma injuries. Therefore, there are very few illnesses, overdoses, etc. It's mostly just blunt trauma. It gets kind of old after awhile.I'd recommend Code Red or ER3 more.

5-0 out of 5 stars cool
This is real cool, you have to treat loads of realistic and gory things, it's fun, you can get promotions to, from medical student, to chief o staff. You can even get help by clicking somein', you patients talk at you, they can also die. Then the Chief of Staff, Dr. Ed Snyder (?) will review your profromense, and if you killed the patient he'll insult you or say somein' stupid like "Doctor, this is a Hospital, not the Morgue!"

3-0 out of 5 stars Me? A real doctor ?
Ha! This game is so much fun! The paitents are very fun to work on and they talk! You can choose from over 100 different cases and all of them are different. The paitents wounds look realistic. 5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended challenge, but frustrating
The idea here is to give the user a virtual jigsaw puzzle building experience. The puzzle, when completed, is a three-dimensional reconstruction of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris.5-0 out of 5 stars Puzz 3D: The Orient Express
you have to like putting puzzles together or you won't like this gameBut if you do then its a great game but not for a 128.00 thats way to much for this gamei didn't pay that much for my.

4-0 out of 5 stars Have patience!
I thoroughly enjoyed this puzzle and gradually increased the difficulty as I grew accustomed to manipulating the pieces and connecting the sides.Having recently visited Notre Dame, I had a ball putting together this puzzle and look forward to trying the others by Wrebbit.Working this puzzle requires a good computer and, as another on-line reviewer noted, frequent saves to prevent lost work. The software taxes the computer memory and sometimes causes crashes.I've updated my machine since playing Notre Dame, so, now that I've ordered Bavarian Castle from Amazon, I'm hoping the new puzzle will be better tolerated by my hardware.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars An RTS Classic - and still enjoyable even today!
I just finished "Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness" a few weeks ago and I enjoyed the entire experience. Well, I only finished half of the Orc Campaign and the whole Human Campaign (so 75% finished then). The reason for this was because when an enemy Paladin cast a spell, the game would crash. Which just sucked alot. And I e-mailed Blizzard and just got a canned response (as always) so I decided to finish the Human Campaign. Even though I never clocked the entire game, it was still extremely enjoyable - and it only takes up 20MB Hard Drive Space! Now that's value! Anyway, I'm trying to remedy the problem so I can finish the remainder of the Orc Campaign.
4-0 out of 5 stars i love warcraft 2 almost as much as warcraft 3
i love this game is really really good

5-0 out of 5 stars Good old Quake....
I really miss games like this. This game may seem to have nothing to do with the Quake or Doom series as far as story, but think again. Look in the game booklet and there should be a background on the story. But anyway, this game really impressed me. I loved it. I've had it for many, many years, and it was the very next game I got after Doom I & II. They still sell those two games, along with Final Doom, which I intend to buy eventually. But as for this game, I actually prefer these graphics to those of today's over-realistic games. There's many strange enemies to fight in this game, none of which reappear in the later Quake or Doom games. I wish there was some kind of expansion for this game like there was for Quake II (The Reckoning and Ground Zero). I've pretty much mastered this game, and found every secret, and learned how to easily kill each monster I run across, and basically I just play this game for fun now. This game is a true classic, along with Doom I - 2, Quake II, even Quake III. Games like this surpass the new ones recently made. Doom III and Quake IV are both so real, they don't even run properly without a million dollar computer. No, actually Doom III works fine, but Quake IV is the one with the problem on my computers. I have five computers, and it won't work on any of them. No matter what setting I choose, it just won't work. But I recommend this game to anyone who longs for the good old days of truly original games like this, when there wasn't such a thing as a stereotype as everything is nowadays, and make sure you get Doom I & II, Doom 64, Quake II, and Quake III to get all the best first person shooters of all time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!
Excellent Game! You get to use 8 different and unusual weapons, and kill monsters that can use those weapons against you, such as the ogre and his grenade launcher! I recommend this great game to anybody who likes FPS games, and everybody who doesn't!

4-0 out of 5 stars A Cool Game
If Quiver, the macintosh editor for this game, had never been released, I would rate this a 2. This is the only fully 3D game with a mac compatible level editor in existence (Marathon is 2.5D). Unfortunately, Quiver is shareware and costs 20 bucks. I still have no idea what the storyline is (being a marathon addict, I expect a storyline), butthe gameplay is okay. What really boosted my opinion of the game is the fact that a program that converts maps made for quake to quake 3 has been released. Now it is possible to make Q3 maps on a mac. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
This game is quite incredible. The sound effects and music are astonishingly good, you feel like your really where your supposed to be. The graphics are nothing special but pretty good considering it was made about a year or two ago. The guns are awsome, the final boss is actually HARD what a concept. It took me only three days to beat, but thats only cause I played it non-stopt all those days. You always want to know what happens next, which brings me to the story line, which is very good. The missions are of a broad range, ranging from all out kill kill kill, to stealth missions where you have to be quiet. GREAT GAME BUY IT. YOU WONT REGRET IT. The multiplayer is quite good too.

5-0 out of 5 stars A classic
Lords of the Realm 2 was the first strategy game I played.A friend brought it over in 7th grade, and in the past 7 years it's been the one game I've gone back to repeatedly.I have yet to grow tired of this game.4-0 out of 5 stars Simple mathematics give you a winner
Although i have this game already for over 5 years, i still enjoy playing it. Sound, graphics and gameplay are great, considering the age of the game. The only sad thing perhaps is that you can perfectly calculate what to do in order to win the game: 1 cow feeds 10 people, next season i will have exactly produced 124 bows etc... The only random factors, which you can't influence at all, are events like the plague. If calculated well, you can defend one county against an invasion of all other counties together. So don't set the difficulty too easy. For the rest it is a recommender although its age.

4-0 out of 5 stars Old, and classic
Sorry folks, but this game is old. And since it ROCKS, that makes it classic. The game is easy to learn, and takes forever to really master. When you can build 4 ships that can stand alone against any fleet the computer can ever come up with to throw at you, you're about halfway there. I still only put the game on hard, not impossible, most of the time because that setting makes the game drag as you fight for every single inch of space you want, whereas hard you only start fighting when you want THEiR planets as well as your own. Needless to say, I do alot of that. But anyway, buy the game, it's fun, it's simple at first but takes greater insight later on, right click anything you need info on, easy to use, and it cosst less then a 12 pack of soda. Just play it, you'll love it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun
I love games that make me think but don't require me to do a lot of little steps and remember a lot of details; I'll take an other college class for that. This game is constantly changing and you can plan out the big things yet still need to make adjustments so it doesn't get dull. That alliance you once had has been broken, not what do you do and still get to your next tech advance?I've decide I prefer to be the Spartans even if the Gaians are more in line with my own political views -- the goal is to win afterall.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool interactive empire building concepts

For PC (non-MacIntosh) users, this boxed version only gives you version 1.1. In order to connect to the network to play with others on-line, you need to have the upgraded version 1.6. I contacted Freeverse, and they offered to send me a coupon (50% off) to upgrade to the 1.6 version, but it will end up costing me more money than if I had just bought the on-line version instead of this boxed version.

3-0 out of 5 stars almost...
What a shame. Great story, great art, great scenarios... but the abilty to save this game only at 'checkpoints' is a deadly flaw. It's a visual treat and the narrative is fun, but I got so bored having to kill the same badguys over and over to get through every level that I finally gave up. I don't care who Number I is, or whether anybody saves the world, and I can't imagine anyone who finishes this ever playing it a second time.XIII may be okay for high-speed shooter fanatics, but I found it frustrating beyond words.

Shooters are a dime a dozen now, but one of UK distributor Feral Interactive's new releases, XIII (Thirteen), stands out from the crowd.
5-0 out of 5 stars absolutely brilliant
This is a game you could show non gamers and not feel nerdy in the slightest due to the fact that it is a well drawn 50's comic book story in game format, quite extraordinary! The music is good and touches such as close up squares showing the detail of characters demise add to the proffessional quality of this game. It is quite simply the most visually inventive thing to have been made in the history of gaming. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Newer is not always better
Before I bought this game, I followed the progress of its development via the World Wide Web. The only reason I was so excited to get it was because I expected it to be better than Descent II. I expected Descent 3 to have all of the D2 weapons and more. I remember being disappointed when I read the manual that weapons such as the Phoenix Cannon and Helix Cannon were excluded. On top of that, only a few primary weapons (out of ten total) are actually any good, which means the descriptions of the weapons in the pilot's manual are very misleading.
    5-0 out of 5 stars True 3D
Even after 5 years Descent 3 still provides the most unique gameplay of all FPS. Admittedly it has a very steep learning curve to get a grip on the true 360deg environment (move on 4 axis at the same time..) but it's worth the work ! Besides the excellent and huge single player levels, D3 features a wide bunch of multi player modes like CTF, Entrophy, Hyper Anachy etc.5-0 out of 5 stars Superb PC Game
Back in 1999, the third and most likely final chapter of the Descent series released. It was praised and lauded by game reviewers and magazines worldwide. However, due to Interplay's bungled marketing, the game never got the player recognition it deserved.Tragically, it meant the end for the series.
