1-0 out of 5 stars Boring
This software is NOT Mac capable, in spite of representations that it is.Different modules have to be installed separately to enable different games, generally a pain. Also a pain - you have to leave the CD in the drive to play.If it had been expensive enough to justify the inconvenience, I would have returned it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Gambling fun-no loss of money
Hours of entertainment; works beautifully. The tutorials are on target.Speedy arrival and easy installation.

4-0 out of 5 stars Alot of Fun
I found that this game was worth the price I paid for it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jackpots are hard to get.
This is an excellent product, but, winning the jackpots is so difficult. I've owned this item for almost a year. I use to play it often, but I got disgusted with not winning the jackpots. The games are just like the casino's versions and just as hard to win the jackpots. I've only won jackpots on two of the games and I have played them all for many hours and days, since buying it. I will try the newest Masque Publishing Edition of Slots, because they did an excellent job, on all the versions, in reproducing the casino games for personal computing play.

5-0 out of 5 stars Almost as fun as Vegas
Like the slots, but hate to lose $ ?5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent product
This is yet another winner from Masque,if you enjoy playing slots its a must buy. When the wheels spin they dont blur as in so many other slot simulations, but the symbols are visible as the wheel spin, a nice touch. Also you can choose realistic payout, or a payout rate that cant be expected in a casino, thereby ensuring that both the exact simulation aspect as well as the game fun aspect is taken care of. The various games are replicated in almost exact detail, no other can provide well known games done so well as Masque.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A good FIRST computer game
My daughter is 3 1/2 and loves Dora. But this game is WAY too simple for her. There just aren't enough things to do, and even the higher levels don't really challenge compared to her two other games: Care Bears and Blue's Clues. If you have a two-year-old or a child who's never played on a computer, this is great at teaching basic color, shape & number recognition and how to use a mouse & click. A better choice for a 3 - 4 year old is Blue's ABC Time Activities.

5-0 out of 5 stars Backpacks Aweigh!!
Our two year old LOVES this video game!I like the educational part where she is learning/relearning her shapes, colors, and numbers.I also like the higher levels that use patterns. The game is engaging and keeps my daughter's attention throughout.I strongly reccommend it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Technical difficulties
If you have an Nvidia graphics card don't get this game. There is something about the drivers that doesn't allow it to play. I spent hours trying the tech support offered on the website and installing older drivers, as suggested by another website, neither of which worked. I popped it into my mom's Compaq computer and it works perfectly. It's a fun game if you aren't comparing it to games nowadays. Very nostalgic.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the money
We had the original version of this game, and it was one of my kids' favorites. We upgraded to get a copy that runs under Windows XP. My kids also love this version of the game. There are more options for play than in the original version of the game, and everything seems to work well. I feel it was well worth the purchase price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun for everyone involved
I was very happy with this game- it took the bets parts of the previous Oregon Trail incarnations and wove them together for a good overall product.I can appreciate a company which recognizes both the weaknesses and the strengths of their products and uses this information to get better. In this Oregon Trail you can once again chose how many you will travel with and name them (for some crazy reason this feature was eliminated in the 4th Oregon Trail edition), but you can also CHOOSE the times you stop to collect wild fruit or fish, instead of these circumstances just happening randomly (which does not make as much sense). To me, these were the biggest changes to previous games, but they were improvements.

5-0 out of 5 stars Go indy !
Loved the game so much the initial time I played it on windows that I thought it will be great to add it to my collection of Mac games. Graphics are not at all choppy on my powerbook 12".

4-0 out of 5 stars Touchy Controls, Limited Save Game Features Mar an otherwise Great Game.
I have enjoyed playing Indiana Jones Games since Playing the Temple of Doom on the NES and I vaguely remember a version of Raiders of the Lost Ark on Atari. So I was delighted when Emperor's Tomb was ported to the Mac, especially a more arcade/FPS instead of the Fate of Atlantis. The Graphics on Emperor's Tomb are stunning and this is one of the first games I bought after upgrading my graphics card and processor.
2-0 out of 5 stars The problem that made me give-up.
First let me say, I have no problems with the game as far as graphics, plot etc. What made me finally give up was a the fact that you could not just save anywhere within the game, as you can in Tomb Raider. The game only saves when you complete a level. If you die while trying to complete the level or simply have to stop before the level is complete, you have to start all over at the beginning of the level. ARRGH. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars buggy, buggy, buggy...
I give this title three stars because I'm talking about the MacSoft version of it; the game as it was originally written for Windows deserves a better rating than that. This game has more reasons for a patch to be released than any other I've seen but MacSoft won't issue one. I've been on the phone with them and as near as I can tell, they don't see any problem with the program. That said, everyone I've talked to has experienced the same problems as I.
4-0 out of 5 stars Big price problem
I would have ordered this game, but since the Macsoft store (U.S. only) sells it for 20 bucks there is no way you should be paying the price thay want here. Something is out of whack!

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than before
After anxiously waiting for a Mac release of Railroad Tycoon 3, I find that it's a much-needed upgrade of Railroad Tycoon 2. However, that's really all it is -- I'd be tempted to call it Railroad Tycoon 2.5 rather than 3. There are probably enough changes to track building and industries to warrant a new version number, but other than that and a few interface changes, RT3 is essentially the same game as RT2. 4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Diversion
I had seriously burned out on Civ 3, and found Tropico 2 during my search for a replacement. This is a very cool strategy game that is easy to pick and play for both short and long periods of time.Easy to learn and difficult to master.Plus there's something cool about a game set in the Caribbean to waste time on a Winter day.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's no Tropico 1
To start out, this game has no spoken Tutorial (which Tropico 1 does).System requirements aren't too steep.Gameplay is not as involving as T1.The bawdier elements of the game make it suitable for the middle school & over crowd. Overall this game left me feeling let down, and I really enjoyed the first Tropico. I give the game higher ratings because it is well done technically.

4-0 out of 5 stars Argh - A good time indeed
After playing Civilization III at an almost addictive rate, Tropico II - Pirate's Cove is a breath of fresh air. And maybe a bit more challenging. There's a tricky balance to keeping your captives resigned and your pirates happy. The graphics are fun and so is a Pirate's life. The learning curve is higher than Civ III (it was for me) - there are so many varibles with Tropico II - a reason why I like the game. The ships a player gets to build are cool. I have had the game unexpectedly quit on me a couple of times and the auto save feature can get annoying. But overall it's a purchase I'm happy with. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars World War II in a box.
** Get the most complete Battlefield 1942 Game with add-ons by choosing Battlefield 1942: World War II Anthology. If it is not available then you need to get the three games in this pack - Battlefield: 1942, Battlefield 1942 Expansion: The Road to Rome and Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII Expansion Pack that work out a little more expensive. Battlefield 1942: Deluxe Edition has 1942 original and Road to Rome. So all you need with the Deluxe Edition is to get Secret Weapons. To be honest the steepest it works out at is. The Anthology is $30.00 and is the same price as the Deluxe Edition plus Secret Weapons. Getting all three separately will cost you nearly $40.00 so get the best deal in bundle packs.**

2-0 out of 5 stars Great idea, flawed execution (This review applies to single player only)

3-0 out of 5 stars Good/Bad, I can't classify it, it goes all over the board
I'm going to warn everyone looking at buying this game to make sure that their computer's specs are much more than the requirements of this game. My Computer has twice the requirements and I get really choppy performance (twice the RAM, twice the processor speed, a better than recommended graphics card, et cetera).
2-0 out of 5 stars Could have been better
If this was a $15 dollar game it would be worth every penny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother just buying Sim City 4
I first installed Sim City 4 and thought I wouldn't need the expansion pack. After a week of playing the game it was clear I really needed the expansion pack.I went to the Sim City web site and all of the cool add on buildings and such required that you had the pack.
5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!!
This game is definetly worth the price you pay and makes Sim City a whole lot better! I especially like plopping Area 5.1 to get the UFO and decimate my city! (Ok here is a way to get an easy $10000... Ok build and iscolated build with a short peice of road connected to a fire station. Next use the fire disaster on the iscolated building and use the u drive it mode and select the fire truck. You should get the mission "Fire!". Accept it and because the fire station is right next door you put out the blaze in like two seconds. I made a FORTUNE doing this! So just BUY IT!

4-0 out of 5 stars A very good expansion pack overall
Rush Hour is a very good addendum to the already great SimCity 4.With it, you wil have more options to build your perfect and more realistic city. The addition of a new category of building type (Euro-Contemporary) adds variety to all your cities and new rewards and landmarks adds a great deal more visual interest. There are also more options for customizing your city, such as a greater variety in size of schools, police departments, fire departments, and recreational areas. If you crave a little action now and again, the U-drive it missions will also be of some interest to you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Flight Deck III Questions
I will agree with most of the other reviews that Flight Deck III is a good add-on. However, I am dissappointed with the carrier landing system. No arrestor cable in existance can stop an aircraft on a dime. Does Abacus have any add-ons dealing with an aircraft carrier that's more realistic. What i mean by this is moving elevators, animated crew, and static aircraft on the deck. I have to add that the carriers don't move, and there aren't any other aircraft landing or taking off. Last, I noticed that the ATC system isn't operational on the carrier. If anyone knows of such an add-on, please reply

4-0 out of 5 stars Lack of Cable Stretch at Trap
I recently purchased an excellent gammer system and have re-discovered the fun of trying to land on a postage stamp at 140 knots. Flight Deck 3 is just plain fun.The catapult launch is great. The only change I would like to see is an upgrade that would simulate a more realistic cable stratch at trap. The stop is sudden and takes some of the excitement of wondering "if I am going to stop" out of the landing.
3-0 out of 5 stars Great carrier - Soso planes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Review for the Alaska and Military Members Apple User Group
In 1994 I played a seminal piece of shareware that did something no game before had. It scared the heebie-jeebies out of me! The game was, of course, Doom. 1-0 out of 5 stars Does not work on new Macs
WARNING: This game does not perform well on Intel Macs. I have a MacBook Pro 2.0GHz w/ 2GB of RAM and performance was terrible. Do not buy this product if you own a Mac bought in 2006 or later.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best C&C yet
I am glad to see a mac version. However, I have macs and pcs in my home, and the two versions do not see each other as far as network games go.So we have to play 2-on-2 on the pcs, and a separate game of 2-on-2 on the macs. ... Read more

Editorial Review

You own a plot of good farmland. Do you want a small family farm or an agricultural profit center? Do you want to produce food for the local town or feed the world's hungry masses? Do you use the latest chemical fertilizers and pesticides or run an organic farm? It's up to you. Plow your fields, sow your seeds, harvest your crops, and sell them at market. Easy? Sure, except for soil depletion, crop rotation, changing markets, and diminishing farmland--not to mention pests, droughts, dust storms, and other hazards. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars farmer at heart
Patience and more patience is what it takes to see the success of crop rotation, growth, production, harvesting, marketing, and selling, but on Sim Farm you can accelerate your crops and make a boom market or a C grade wash out. This interactive game lets you design, build, and produce marketable goods in a rustic acre. Not only are there over 20 crops to select, but also quite a number of livestock. The fun is that you learn what you need to grow a bumper crop- weather, chemicals, land, machinery, and labor. If you make the right combinations then you can pay your bills, loans, and buy more acres to design a bigger farm. The fun is in how hard you work to create a dream farm. Though I have never lived in the country or on a farm, this is exactly the hard work that must be done in real life to make things happen. Its fun for children in that it helps them learn about plants, earth, livestock, capital gains, loans, and machinery. For older folks its just fun to make a fortune building and amassing a nice farm and organizing it. Like all the other Sims games the reward or prize is just making up different scenarios and increasing your knowledge of how to make thing work. It can be extremely addicting but its incredibly fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Game
Good game, nice way to kill an evening.Tip:plant oranges, they only need to be planted once, and after a couple years they don't normaly need sprayed. If you use the cropduster, the end key makes it land.

3-0 out of 5 stars Kiwi perspective
