5-0 out of 5 stars Such delicious fun.
Max Payne is one of those rare games that does everything right.Great plot, amazingly fun, and it doesn't take itself seriously at all.You are Max Payne -- an ex-cop whose family was killed by junkies. As the game's plot unfolds, you are sucked into a conspiracy that takes you from exacting your revenge on petty mob bosses all the way up to those responsible for ruining you.The game's Bullet Time system gives you the edge you need to defeat the hordes of mobsters, mercenaries, and more sent to stop you from discovering the truth about your past.I also highly recommend downloading the Kung Fu mod, which essentially turns Max into Neo.This game is worth every cent. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars More than I Expected
I don't play many computer games but a couple of Amazon.com reviews made Civilization 3 seem worth the investment and in the short few weeks I've had the game it has paid huge dividends. While I enjoy the escape it offers, starting with a warrior and moving through the various ages that defined the competing civilizations in our world is a "blast".What I appreciate most about the game, though, is the effect its had on my ten year old son.The game has helped him formulate some really cool questions, like "Dad, what is Sun Tzu's Art of War?"

3-0 out of 5 stars This game sucks!
Even though the concept of this game is great, the fighing between units sucks. Tanks, modern armor, and most strongest infantry units will get their a**es whooped by archers and wariors with sticks. It's screwed up!! Plus, you can't kill any units with bombardments from battleships and the bombs from planes can't sink ships or kill land units. It's really cheap.

5-0 out of 5 stars Civilization III Rocks
Civ3 is a great strategy game that tests your skills of ruling an empire. It is really easy to use, especially if you customize the rule in the CivIII Editor.Civ3 has okay graphics, but that can be overlooked since the rest of the game is excellent. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars As Lame as YDKJ Gets!
I am a YDKJ fan, I have been for years.I have to say that the Television and Movies games are lame. You would have to really be a YDKJ addict, as well as an addict of TV shows which are mostly from the 70s and 80s to enjoy this game.I was totally disappointed to see these games after playing the original and The Ride.If you want a fun trivia game, it is YDKJ, but spend your money on one that is worth it- The Ride is tops.

5-0 out of 5 stars Rockin' Awesome Fun Game
Amazing Game. This review is short and sweet because there's so few problems with this game.It simply has easy-to-learn controls that open up a massive amount of combinations and relatively complex gameplay."Buying" combos such as "Final Judgment", "Orc Hewer", or "Dark Deliverence" was similar to the Diablo-style gameplay of purchasing upgrades, but much more realistic because the upgrades became part of your repertoire, even though took awhile to get the knack of.
2-0 out of 5 stars Beware: GamePad "not supported." Aspyr support disappoints
I have really enjoyed this game on my brother's X-box.The Aspyr version promised similar game play but with improved graphics (the graphics are great)--and I didn't need to buy an X-box to enjoy it.I bought the iShockII GamePads to facilitate cooperative (2-person) play. The program automatically identifies the controllers and the manual tells you how to set them up.However they don't work. The characters always walk and never run when the controllers do not emulate the keyboard. This makes it impossible to sucessfully complete many levels.
4-0 out of 5 stars Frustratingly Fun
I remember when the Two Towers came out for almost every platform EXCEPT for the Mac, needless to say I was a little miffed. But although you still can't get the Two Towers, you can, as you'll obviously have figured out by now, get the Return of the King thanks to EA and Aspyr.

4-0 out of 5 stars Controls are confusing...so they say.
As i'm sure you have noticed, all the controls on the menu and in some parts of the game of THAW are labelled G=back, O=select etc. Many different reviewers are getting angry because of this inconvenience but if you just think about it, it's all quite simple.G=Grind button, O=Ollie button, R=Rail button and so on. The reason they don't put "keypad 5=ollie(or select)" is that you can change these settings in the "launch" area in the beginning of the game and that would make it very confusing. Many people do nat change these settings but if you've played previous tony hawk games, some of the controls are different and you are already used to them.In THUG 2 the ollie button is KP2 so i'm used to that and i changed it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Fear and Loathing in Direct Ports
This game is very typical of alot of the PC games coming out. It's a direct port from a console game to a PC game with very little change. The controls are extremely confusing. It instructs you to "Perform X trick by hitting the G and R key" but they don't mean the actual G and R key but rather the G and R key on whatever damn console they designed the thing on. To make this worse when you assign keys to diffrent controls it doesn't say G = ________ but rather "Ollie Tricks (Jump)". To add insult to injury on that score you cannot change key bindings from within the game. You have to close the game, use the program launcher to specify a new key, then enter the game and try it, then exit out again to change a diffrent key or rebind that action.
4-0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to the others
Overall this is a pretty fun and well made game.I think that the other rewiewers were too critical and took the game to seriously.I read those rewiews before purchasing but went ahead and bought it anyway, since I've been anticipating it a long time. Before playing, make sure to install "DirectX9.0c" when it prompts you to on the very first screen you see. Also, although I have an expensive computer with a good graphics card, the game would always lag on the "very high" 1280X1024 screen resolution setting.

1-0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable bugs
As many of the reviewers of this game have mentioned, the story and gameplay of gothic 2 is outstanding. However, the bugs and crashes that occur with this game are as bad as they get. If you have ever played "Temple of Elemental Evil" and screamed at all the hours you wasted when the game crashed, you have a small taste of what you are in for in gothic 2. These are not subtle crashes, either. These are shut-down-your-computer bugs. Worst of all, there is NO english language patch available. I would never consider buying another game from JoWood studios again if this is how they support their products. ... Read more

Here, I am trying to find a good build your own starship from the star trek universe. And what is there? Build your own ship and take it out and get blown up. There are plenty of software out there for that. I want a software that lets me build different star trek ships (LOTS of them, not just 7,8,9, or 10). Is there such a software? I hope someone makes one. Put it in an external hard drive, Heck i'D buy it!

this game is my #100 game I've ever played... out of 100! This game is HORRIBLE. Don't waste your money on this as it takes forever to play the mission, and i haven't used it for months. i'd recommend starfleet command if you are looking for the next step up. notice the prices... $0.01??? tells you it is cheap. i do not like it. all you do is change the ship around, add crew, and then wait for 30 minutes and finally it sometimes will blow your ship up, and you can't use it again.

The year is 3057. A struggle for power fuels a society of warring clans. Bitter infighting perpetuates a universe of unrest. War is constant. Victory is temporary. Cease-fire is nonexistent. 5-0 out of 5 stars The First PC Game That Hooked Me
The first time I saw the opening cinematic on this game (in which one Mech is going to the aid of a partner in a pitched battle) I got shivers.I haven't seen anything like that cinematic since.Sure, graphics have improved, but that was the first time a PC game hooked me, bad.
5-0 out of 5 stars One of My All-Time Favorite Games
This game was simply amazing. What sets it apart from other games of the genre is that it is so extremely immersive. While by today's standards the graphics are not great, back in the day they were state of the art, the best I had ever seen (I had a special edition that came with my computer). Each level, though only 5-10 minutes long, was able to hold your attention for every second of it. Even when you were waiting for something to happen, you were entirely engaged.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nostalgic Atari Blitz
I just sometimes don't seem to find some great video games like they used to anymore. When I grew up in the 80's, they really didn't seem to have anything classic other than Nintendo, Coleco, Mattel, Activision and especially, they original company king of video games, Atari. The original video game company really defined what video games should be like, whether it was about scores, storytelling, and fun. Classic video games have always came back here & there for updated video game systems, and the computer with fancy graphics and outrageous effects and violence. Yet, the classicness from Atari during the 1970's and 80's really broke the mold for video games.
5-0 out of 5 stars Very accurate (and playable!) recreations of classic games.
I've picked up a few modernized versions of classic arcade games for the PC, such as Missile Command and Centipede, and while some are decent games highly reminiscient of the arcade originals (and expanding on them in interesting ways), none of them include accurate recreations of the originals in appearance and behavior. But now...5-0 out of 5 stars Play the classics without having to play rip-offs!
To many online game sites give you rip-offs of the classics. They give improved graphics and a changed story and concept line! The worst part is they say it is a "pretty good game!" But discovering this helped me alot. With twelve fun and easy-control classics, you can have so much fun! The keyboard and mouse do take away from the feel but you can always the controllers. I reccomend this to all nostalgia seekers! ... Read more

First 3 episodes of a truely atmospheric adventure game; clearly a labor of love for the developers who have talents to equal much bigger production teams. I am glad they brought out a CD version and support the Mac platform as well as the PC.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works fine on XP
This is an enjoyable game, & educational as well. For the price, it's worth buying. The puzzles aren't difficult, but challenging enough to keep it interesting. The game reminded me of an easier version of Myst. You don't need to have prior knowledge of physics - a handy reference guide is available as part of the gameplay. The only drawback was that the screen was small. Maybe that could have been fixed, but I didn't want to mess with the setup since some games can be finicky on XP.

5-0 out of 5 stars physicus
it is a pretty fun game with a few quirks here and there. Some of them include the anoying "click button" interface, and a few problems that are just a random guess to solve. Other than that, it has very good graphics and a very addictive storyline.

4-0 out of 5 stars Educational fun if there be such a thing
This is a fantastic Myst clone that, on top of everything, is "gladdened" with a load of physical minutiae which, naturally, lends the game its name. Now I find all matter of educational things to be a compelling incentive to wanting to solve the puzzle. This does not move me to finish the game, however. This, perhaps, is the greatest shortcoming for an adventure game. There is no plot as you know it. Yes, you need to achieve a goal and save the world from a global cataclysm. We've saved the world before, and it has been none too grateful getting into some sticky predicament time and time again. But WHO are you saving? Is it the disembodied voice in the introductory video? This is where the plot begins and ends. There are some marginal hints at a story involving a telescope lens thief, but these are clearly there to facilitate the puzzles. Yet, for a game that makes clear its ambition to create a giant puzzle, Physicus superbly succeeds to render the puzzles built on physical laws maximally enjoyable.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Be Un-Warned:This game works greaton G5 iMacs!
I'm sure that many people have already read the reviews for this game that say that it works so terribly on this or that Mac.But I'm here, as a sort of public service announcement, to say that with the new Macs, those concerns no longer apply.I had a rougher time with AVP1 Gold running on my Mac than this game! All that aside, this is an incredible game, one of the best FPS games ever created, and very addictive.I beat all three campaigns on Normal, and now I'm trying to beat them all on Hard.Huge difference!
4-0 out of 5 stars Just like the movies!
Even reading all the bad reviews I bought this game. I held my breath when I popped it into my eMac. Things didn't start out good as the game wouldn't install to my brand new external drive. I installed in to the internal drive and started up the game.I chose to be a Predator and the hunt began. I was immediatly awed by how alike it was to the movies. All the preformance issures people had warned about weren't a factor. It ran smooth as anything. I then en-trusted the next 3 hours to getting through the Predator campaign. The game was a blast and I felt like I was in the movies. ... Read more
