2-0 out of 5 stars Unless you have a new state-of-the-art computer, forget it.
Microsoft has always boasted about Flight Simulator taxing the machines that are out there, but this time they have gone too far. I am running a Dell 3.6 Gig, with 3 Gig of memory, a 512 MB Nvidia card and I still have to turn down the settings to get "smooth play."
1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointment with Amazon
Amazon led me to believe it was availible for shipment, only to get my money. I have been posponed now three times. I have 2 friends who have recieved there orderes as promised (by a different vendor). This is the last purchase from Amazon I will make. I don't expect to receive a refund.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best flight sims on the market
Flight Simulator X is the newest edition and graphically the best of the flight simulators on the market. Many of the graphics has been improved since flight simulator 2004 like the ground textures. It really looks like the real world. You can even pinpoint many recognizable highways and roads from your own city. Also mountain ranges look much better. Many of the mountains are sculpted to their acutal sizes and makes it very realistic. The graphics have more depth than in 2004 version and when the new Windows Vista comes out, the graphics will look even more realistic than it is currently. There are also more planes in this game. Included are the usual Boeing and Cessnas, but there are also new jets like a glider, which is towed by another airplane. You can even go to websites to get more planes and decals for free like (Delta, Southwest) by googling the search flight simulator x downloads. Websites like simviation give you a lot of variety and can make it much more realistic. Another feature is the missions. Some of the mission include just getting from point a to point b. Others include landing a plane on a moving bus, or rescuing people in the middle of the ocean. This new mode adds a lot more depth and you even earn rewards for completing them.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Sims 2 Pets
Yesterday, I purchased this game and waited for what seemed like an eternity at work for me to play it.
5-0 out of 5 stars Loving it!
I love this game. If you are looking to challenge your Sims game then I recommend this. There are so many options to create and design your animals from coat textures, color, structure.I also love the interactions that you can have with your pets. But like I said it is a challenge when you factor in taking care of babies, kids, spouses and pets. Makes the game alot more realistic.I recommed also getting the Prima guide. When I first started playing without it I was clueless but after reading through the guide once I understand the strategies and works of the game.Happy Simming! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid EA and their greed.
The game itself is good, but not all that different from the last Battlefield game. It's essentially the same game in a futuristic setting. EA wants you to pay $50 for a rehashed game loaded with in-game ads and spyware? How about passing some of that advertising money along to the consumer instead of charging $50 for a polished up version of one of your old games?

1-0 out of 5 stars Adware, It's In The Game!
Alright... We've heard a LOT about viruses and the like...A lot of the stuff being said is inaccurate,But the crux of the matter is that 2142 IS adware.
1-0 out of 5 stars WARNING - Spyware and Adware
Absolutely the worst idea in years. Not only are you paying a premium price for this but they are adding mandatory advertisements in game as well as installing internet monitoring spyware on your computer. Of course there is NO warning on the box and only after you have opened it does the piece of paper telling you about it come to light. I returned my copy and refuse to support this out right attempt at invasive spyware. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ninjas on Fire
Bungie software famously said of Halo 2 that: "it's Halo 1 on fire going 120 miles per hour through a hospital zone chased by helicopters and ninjas. And the ninjas are all on fire too."As a sequel, Halo 2 couldn't quite live up to that extravagant claim, but DoW: Dark Crusade does.
5-0 out of 5 stars A review kinda like I like to read...
The kind of review I like to read tends to be full of all sorts of info on new units and how they do in the game.I guess we will find out if anyone agrees.
5-0 out of 5 stars More... GIMME MORE!!!!
First let me start by stating that I am a Dawn of War addict.I beta tested the first Dawn of War and have been hooked ever since. One of my chief complaints with the first two installments was that with the first Dawn of War there was only one single-player campaign for the Space Marines and none for the other races. In Winter Assault there were two campaigns that made you play two races per campaign.Personally I'd have preferred a Starcraft style of game where each race had its own campaign with a more developed storyline. With Dark Crusade they finally got it somewhat right. You can play the campaign mode with any of the seven races you want.Currently I am playing with the Tau and have only just beaten the Necron race but the story and cut scenes involved the Tau and the Necrons so I have to assume that each race also gets their own storyline and cut scenes (which possibly explains why the game was shipped on a DVD).Needless to say this game has huge replay value because you can play through the campaign with each of the races. Many fans also started creating maps for the first two installments that could be played via internet or skirmish mode so I'd imagine the same will happen for Dark Crusade also increasing replay value. If there is one problem with this game it would be that some of the existing races have been limited in the number of top tier forces that you can build. This forces people who have been playing for a while to come up with new strategies to make up for the fact that they will be stuck with using bottom tier forces throughout the game. However, THQ has shown that they are committed to balancing the game so I am sure that as they get feedback from the fans that they will fix a few balance issues via patches as they did with the previous installments. For example, I have found that on skirmish mode at standard or higher difficulty it is almost impossible for the Imperial Guard to defeat the Necrons, the Imperial Guard starting forces are just too weak for their cost and until a barracks is created they can't create them in enough numbers to defend themselves whereas the Necrons can start pumping out their basic troops from the very get go.I am pretty sure that THQ will probably put a limit on the number of troops that can be produced until a particular structure is built but at this point it is a little unbalanced.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun (While It Lasted)
This was one of the most enjoyable Nancy Drew games we've played in a long while. The graphics are the best ever, the voice acting, as usual, is very good (Frank Hardy excepted), and the puzzles are fun and fit nicely into the story line. It was also very cool to be able to switch between playing as Nancy or one of the boys. Very cleverly done. But for 20 bucks, you absolutely do not get your money's worth in playing time. I would suggest that Heractive either start making these games twice as long or start charging half as much if they want to maintain their fan base.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
I loved the new technology incorporated into this fun game. The only complaint I have is that it ended to soon; I wanted it to go on forever!

4-0 out of 5 stars Short and sweet
This game was fairly simple and was fairly short. There were a lot of situations that could have been developed further, as though the story just hung on bits and pieces.Overall, however, it was fun, as all ND games are, and I think any ND fan will enjoy it--as long as you aren't expecting a huge challenge and a really long game! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Sims 2 is awesome!!
This is actually her daughter Kris and I ve been playing it for a long while and i can say i didnt get it off here but i bought it in a store and i thought i would be disappointed by it but actually i was utterly thrilled by it!! Its the greatest sim game that was every created plus i am to believe that the expansion packs of the sims 2 will be even more enjoyable than the sims 2. The sims 2 is even better than the sims; it gets you up close and personal with the sims and the 3D version is alot better as well. The sims 2 is the most greatest simulated game ever made!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Totally Addictive!!
I bought the first Sims and loved it so when the Sims 2 came out I just had to give it a try.And you guessed it I loved it.I love the family and neighborhood interactions. The graphics are great.Being able to create your own community lots has really increased the game play.If you enjoy role-playing then this is the game for you.But beware hours and days can fly by and you will not realize because it is totally addictive.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game changed my life and my grades lol
Thanks to this game, I was going to sleep late and forgetting my college work at that time. When the first SIms was out, it was a groundbreaking genre. Totally open-ended and you control the lives of people called SIMS. With the updated graphics which are phenomenal and some tweakings but not much, the game still is one of my favorites that I still play today. Whenever I am playing it my fiance loves----wooohooo. Its hillarious and Im surprised no attention was put on this aspect. Instead more attention was on the cheat code that takes the block off the naked blur. geez cant people find something else to wine about. The sims parts are not even represented (yeah Im guilty of using the code lol).

2-0 out of 5 stars It;s nice, but...
Downloading objects from fan sites can be hit or miss -- I have had many collections I've downloaded work incorrectly or not work at all in the next expansion pack, and items I really liked were suddenly unavailable. So, I was looking forward to a "Stuff" pack from Maxis.
1-0 out of 5 stars Where's the glamour?
This pack offered very little of anything. The decor (very little of it) is uninspired. I was hoping to get some good artwork at least.I know a lot of people don't like to download from fan sites but don't waste your money on this junk.Believe me fansites have much better and more creative stuff for your sims and most of it is free, and none of it costas much as this glamour life stuff pack did. This is the first and last stuff pack that I will ever buy.

1-0 out of 5 stars RIp Off!
If I could give it negative 3 stars I would. This is just EA being Greedy. They could have offered it for free on the website like they did with the stuff before or they could have included it with the next expansion pack. You're better off going to one the fan site that offers better stuff to download for free. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Great Game Single Player, Multiplayer is AWFUL
I agree with most everything folks have said about this game -- you can only play Allied in campaign game and not having an axis option is disappointing. Once you play campaign game, the skirmish mode is fun to but you can easily beat the AI.
3-0 out of 5 stars Language - gratuitous and no turn off option; historical excuse for language is hypocritical
This game is really outstanding for what it is - and really cool for WWII game fans - but in my opinion the language is offensive and gratuitous. To defend the language with piety saying "That's historically accurate!" is hypocritical. The decision to make the language prominent was a calculated one all about money.A company would never institute a feature that would cost their company profits in order to improve historicity.War does not follow the rules of a conventional real time strategy game anyway - which this game basically is.The makers of COH made this game follow conventional real-time-strategy rules - and not historic reality - because they thought it would sell better. So defending the language because its historically accurate is hypocrical. If they wanted to make a historically accurate game, the language is the least of the designers concerns.
5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the Best
I have been a long time RTS gamer, brought up on Starcraft and C&C.This game deserves to be compared to those great games! It is the best RTS and best computer game overall that I have played in the past couple of years.Once you sit down and play, you can' help but get that "just one more mission" feeling.

3-0 out of 5 stars not quite what I expected
The advertising for this collection led me to believe I would be getting these 7 games in their original formats... but I was disappointed to find not the original version of KQ1, but the SCI version released in 1990.KQ6 has voice commentary instead of text, but you can switch back to text if you like--I haven't found any such option for KQ5, so it looks like you're stuck with the voice (and no supplemental text, either, so it gets annoying fast).I haven't had a look at KQ4 yet but everything else seems to be the same.I'll be glad to play these games without having to wrestle with our old Tandy, but I wish they didn't get messed with.Especially disappointed with there being no text option for KQ5.

2-0 out of 5 stars A must for KQ fans, but very disappointing quality
I've been counting down until I could get this release and couldn't wait to play all these great games again. When I got it and started playing, it was fun but the disappointment kept mounting.Little things like no manuals (you have open a file and/or print them yourself... not a big deal in itself, but come on Vivendi, quit being so cheap) and no case for the CDs (you just get twopaper sleeves) make the package look incredibly cheap and low quality.Yes, these are computer games from the 80s and early 90s, but this package could have been put together better.
1-0 out of 5 stars Lies
My gripe is about KQ6.One customer said that there were no differences between the cd and disk versions. This information is false. At the time of its origional release, I was fortunate to have a high end computer (for its time) that was able to run the Windows CD version of KQ6 which had much better graphics and Character Illustrations. I was beyond upset when I found out that this was nothing but the DOS version. I bought this to play the windows version that to my knowlage does not work in any way on any OS past win95 (maybe 98). Those who have played and have been waiting to play the Windows CD version will be very upset. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars No Concorde!
Having found FS2002 to be quite a novelty despite its rather poor landscapes I bought FS2004 for my son. I have found some of the graphics improved on, runways, airport installations, planes ... but others just as horrible as previously.
4-0 out of 5 stars Need a joystick
I am thoroughly enjoying Flight Simulator 2004 now that I have a joystick (LogitechExtreme 3D Pro). The simulator ran poorly on my laptop from the keyboard (no numbers pad, sluggish and uneven response). Performance was better but still disappointing using the full keyboard of my desktop PC. In spite of the claim to be keyboard friendly, the flying lessons are far better suited for use of the joystick.
3-0 out of 5 stars good graphics limited options
I was somewhat disappointed after having used Flight Sim 2000 and then upgrading to 2004.The graphics are better and the upgrades are good but the options for aircraft are too limited for what I expected.Mooney Bravo is the only light single retract. There are lots of speicality and unique aircraft but just too few "general aviation" types.

5-0 out of 5 stars We'd give it 10 stars if we could!
Kids and adults love solving the puzzles. It is a great intro to basic physics (w/o your kids realizing it!)There are problems to solve and you have to place tools (pulleys, balls, dominoes, candles, etc.) in the right place in order for the goal to be accomplished. Our 5 year old needs help; our 8 year old plays alone. Our friends' teenagers enjoy it also.

      5-0 out of 5 stars ~WOW~
This game is a lot of fun. You need to use your head and think about how to solve all of these "wacky contraptions." At first, I thought it was a challenge, but then it got easier and easier. I'm almost at the end of the game and can't wait to see what happens!

5-0 out of 5 stars North Dakota Kid
I am 8 years old and I got Crazy Machines for my Birthday. This is the best game in the world but if you don't like complicated things you won't this game. The four main things are fire, rope, electronics, and the next one I will let you discover. You can either build your own machine or you can figure out problems that may seem hard but after you've done them awhile they are easy. Some of the things that you can build with are boards, balls, robots, cannons, goo, blimps, cords, gravity controlers, scissors, tubes, and plants.Buy this game and have tons of fun! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One of their best expansions yet
EA Games has to be the best game company out there. They take a great thing like The Sims (the original) and make it even better with each expansion and with the new Sims 2 and their expansions.

4-0 out of 5 stars Another piece of the pie...
It's interesting how the Maxis empire has evolved over the years. The very first expansion pack way back when was pretty revolutionary - it seemed like not very many companies were doing such a thing as releasing expansions. And back then it gave what the users were demanding - new objects.Today our demands are much higher as consumers, yet Maxis still doesn't *entirely* listen. It seems like with the Sims 2 their strategy is to release one new aspect of the game that fans have been wanting for ages - while still leaving out a big chunk of things people desire.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Game!
My sister got Sims 2: Open for Business for her birthday. As Sims fanatics, we wanted to control how our Sims worked. In the Original Game, we even made pool centers- complete with hot tubs- but we would have to use cheats to get any money; we couldn't charge other Sims for hanging out. This expansion puts a whole spin on the game, adding in an whole new part to the Sims. As previous review said, for a couple of hours a day, your Sim would just drive off in a car, and come back 9 hours later saying that he's made $374.

2-0 out of 5 stars Gouge me some more....I like it
First, let's establish one thing here. There is nothing in this expansion pack that shouldn't have been included in the original game. The only reason why I bought it, is because I am drawn to real-time and turn based strategy games like a fly to a bug zapper.
5-0 out of 5 stars First Expansion pack for the Long Awaited Sequel
This expansion pack has made Civilization IV much much better...although it would have been nice if these features came with the original game ....it has greatly increased the fun factor of this game...atleast for another 6 months...there is word on a second expansion pack suppose to go a completely opposite direction of this one...I do kind off wish they made something other than the war aspect in this one...but I guess the second will be so much better now...give it a good balance...I like the fact that they included online part (pit boss) in this one...I wish they had more civs for this one...plus in a way if you wait until the second expansion everything in this expansion will be included..so its kindaa waste...but if u cant wait until then and if you area civ finatic like me..then you should get this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent expansion
Long term civ fans may groan when an expansion appears, offerings to previous games in the series having offered little in the way of interesting play, but merely offered a few ornements like a new civ or some new units. Not so with Civ 4: Warlords.Of course this offers the usual, a few new civs like Koreans, Vikings, Carthanaginians, and the return of the old favorite Zulus, but that is what makes this a worthwhile expnasion. On the side of the mundane and worthwhile, the game now does things like dispalys the odds for each encounter when you attack, a useful addition to learning players.Of strategic interest the game gives each civ a unique building, really a variant on a pre-existing structure, but a wrinkle that will give players some food for thought.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great.
I've played all the Civ's and really looked forward to this one.But in my opinion, it does not offer a lot of improvement in gameplay/gamefun.The graphics are better than ever and the in-game map editor is a welcome addition. So much for the good news.Frankly, I like good graphics, but it's the -game- I'm interested in.I find the tech tree too long andneedlessly complex. The number of combt units seems excessive and you really have to advance pretty far to get to the good ones; the advance from one unit to the next higher one gives you a marginal increase, at best. After a while, I found myself wondering "what's the point?"City management is best done using the AI, otherwise it's too troublesome - unless you really like micro-management.The editor in Civ 3, while limited in some ways, seemed (to me) easier to figure out than the edit functions available with Civ 4 (except for, as noted, the in-game map editor function).Never could figure out how to edit individual Civ4 units.
1-0 out of 5 stars Catastrophic Failure
I installed this game with no problems. Then I tried to run it.No good.So I uninstalled it.It took me about 20 tries for the game to install properly again, each time getting a "Catastrophic Failure" error message. Then I tried to run it.No good.
5-0 out of 5 stars Sid's Civ keeps getting better and better
Pros: Each sequel keeps getting better and better. This Civ has added religion to the gameplay, which can make or destroy relationships with your neighbors - staying true to history with leaders disagreeing with neighboring countries religions. The options are almost unlimited, so each scenario you play feels like a whole new game. You can play quick games or "epic" games, there are tons of options for your terraforming, overall the game is perfect.

Installed this on a Dell that is less than a year old the screen image has the top half of the image on the botton and the bottom half of the image on the top. This is obviously irritating. E-mail Sierra support but have not received any reply.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Indomitable Space Quest Returns!
The Praise: Dont get me wrong, i grew up with Space Quest. When i first had access to a computer the underdog jeugo back then was Space Quest V: The Next Mutation, figured it was worth the christmas gift...instant crack.
4-0 out of 5 stars nostaglia at its best
I would have preferred to have the original SQ1 (instead of the VGA remake)... and I was glad to find that I can choose to use text instead of speech for SQIV, as I had the text-based version as a kid.The manual (as another reviewer said--taken from a different I-V compilation, with SQ6 tacked on) and having to print it out yourself annoyed me at first... but it's not really a big deal considering the big plus of having all these games that will actually work on my current computer.

1-0 out of 5 stars buyer beware
The copy of SimCity4 that I purchased came without the access codes to support instillation. When I called Electronic arts all I got was an automated phone system... press 2 now... EA's manufacturing quality control is so poor that they had a selection for products without access codes! I could never find a way to talk with a human beibng about the problem. The automated voice suggested solution was to send the product to them at my expsnse to prove that it came without the access code! I have returned the game to Amazon for a refund. I would never buy another EA product.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the BEST GAMES
OK, let's put it straight. This game is very organized. It contains lots of options for transportaion and civic structures. The graphics are pretty darn good and the sound is mildly decent. But then there are the downs. It may get a bit sluggish when the city is VERY BIG!!! So, this game is still very good.
4-0 out of 5 stars This game was good!
For those that have have played similar games like Sim City before, this one was great! I have played Sim City 2000, but that was years ago. I had found that game addicting. Now, years later, when I ordered Sim City 4: Deluxe Edition, I was blown away! This game is much better than 2000 could hope to be. They have resolved many of the issues that I had with the older game and then some. I have found this game to be addicting to, and have started different cities at the same time. I am working on getting the "perfect city" for me to be happy with. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of any of the Sim games. I could even say at times it was funny even to read the tongue-in-cheek sayings that come up just as you are starting up the game for the day like "Bureaucratizing Bureaucracies". It was not so much hilarious but, it can help you get in the "fun mode" to play the game. The advisors can get slightly annoying after awhile, especially when you have a different idea about what you want to see in your city than they do, but it is still overall a very entertaining game. My next purchase will most likely be Sims 2, for more of the Sims experience. ... Read more
