5-0 out of 5 stars This ROCKS!!
The smartest decision ever!! Who would have knew that Gameboy Advance used all the intelligence in the world to bring to you the most revered and most incredible RPG ever created!! Phantasy Star 1 was the reason sega kicked butt over the wimpy Ninetendo!!

This game is a great game for fantasy and sci-fi lovers. It puts
3-0 out of 5 stars Great for nostalgia, but compared to today's games ....
I couldn't echo the direct praise of many others even though I did grow up on these games. The simple fact is that unless you played these games on the Genesis you just aren't going to appreciate the GBA remakes.Read more

This is a single-player role-playing game with a fast-paced, turn-based combat system. Players follow the storyline of the first volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's saga and control the members of the Fellowship, at times directing the actions of up to nine characters at once during battle sequences. Gameplay takes place across realistic backgrounds faithful to Tolkien's descriptions. The semilinear structure of the game allows players to experiment and explore the world of Middle-earth while staying true to Frodo's quest to keep the One Ring from the hands of the Dark Lord Sauron. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars It's okay.
This is an okay game. There are two reasons why I didn't like this game.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Game
This game is pretty fun, but it has quite a few problems also. The directions are really hard to understand. You do a whole lot of message taking and little favors for your Hobbit-freinds in the game. The battles are very tedious-even if your guys can hit thier target. There are about three guys on the game that can hit a target consistently. You can't use the Bows in batlle mode.
1-0 out of 5 stars A Slow Game with Terrible Glitches
This game is more based on the book then any other lotr game. But the battles are terribly slow, some items don't work, things that the game promised are taken out, the graphics are awful, and there are some terrible glitches in the game, especially the Moria Glitch which made me go out buy another one (I thought the first one was a defect) and go through the same glitch again. Even if you are a huge lotr fan you should probably stay away from this game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars river city ransom - 47 dollars is over priced
I bought this game the other day at gamestop for 17.99 , it's not that rare you can find it , don't buy it for that price, your paying too much for so little.
2-0 out of 5 stars Poor Port to the GBA
River City Ransom for the NES was a classic game. However, the port to GBA brought no effort into making this game better or functional for a handheld.Atlus Software looked to cash in on a popular title and spent the minimal effort necessary to create this cartridge.3-0 out of 5 stars ----------Great Game, But Too SHORT-------
I bought this game two days ago, and i beat it.Its fun the whole game, but too easy.Im a little angry with the length. Slick, the final boss, is easier then you would think, and you don't even have to free your girlfriends.I suggest you rent this game before you buy it. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars dont bother.
this game SUCKS. no real options or difficulty settings. you cant play other maps until you beat the first one (which is impossible because you ALWAYS lose). dont bother spending money on this game. i love yugioh and all but this game blows.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best New Yu-Gi-Oh! Game ever yet and My last GBA Game for my Game Boy.
I think this game is cool as far as I know because I am a huge fan of Anime such as Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh! Pokemon ETC. Yu-Gi-Oh! Destiny Board Traveler is a great Yu-Gi-Oh! game for the Advance and most of the other yu-gi-oh! games for the Advance where not all that good but this one is really good. Here are my reasons.
4-0 out of 5 stars Lo mejor son las cartas
... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun on a handheld
This game is fun and you dont really get sick of it unless you play for hours straight. There is a good amount of characters you can play with and the dungeons are fun. The only thing is this game is not sold in stores in my neighborhood so it is rare if anyone else has this game, making it impossible to link up with other players. That would make this game a hundred times better. This game is like a diablo handheld except its harder to collect money. You can make weapons and armor and there are many side quests to keep you entertained.

4-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing RPG
I have played both "Shining Force" and "Shining in the Darkness" for the Sega, and was expecting a similar concept for this game.It was a complete disappointment -I would be hesistant to even consider Shining Soul an RPG.Shining Soul more closely resembles Gauntlet or another arcade-style game.2-0 out of 5 stars Not much shines in this game...
Okay, I'm a lover of fantasy RPGs and I bought this game thinking it would be fun--I mean, "Shining Force" was a GREAT game! This game was SUCH a disappointment!I'll admit that I'm a fan of turn-based RPGs, so I had my doubts. The action part turned out to be easy to learn--changing weapons, etc.The problem was, the action was TOO easy.I never died--not once! Now, I like easy, but there was no challenge here and in the end, tapping on the same button over and over and over was just too much.

3-0 out of 5 stars Ahh!Need Water!O_o
Breath of Fire 2 was originally released for the Super Nintendo.Somehow, I managed to miss it when I had that system, so buying it on the GBA seemed like a natural move considering I'd heard a little about it from other gamers who played it, as well as some online reviews.
5-0 out of 5 stars best rpg besides fire emblem
so i wanted a new rpg for my game boy and saw all of the reviews for breath of fire II. I instantly was begging to go to the local gaming store. At the begining it was bad you control this stupid midget guy and its in black and white. I thought i bought a bad game but i learned quickly dont get decieved by the begining after you come out of the forest its in color, well 1 problem solved. So you go along and eventually get caught up in a cave where a monster is that knocks you out for 10 years. yay im not a retard anymore. this game is awsome the battle sequences are cool and it is an excellent game.
4-0 out of 5 stars Randomness
A four and a half star game.Good graphics, interesting story line, awesome spells. The spells make the game. The only thing that bothers me is getting stuck in stupid and random places.I'm normally pretty good at video games but this one was over my head. The story line was pretty weird to. Who ever heard of killing evil fatty monsters? Messed up.The end bothered me to.I won't spoil it, but it basically says, Oh, you really didn't do what you thought you were going to do.Okay then. But I enjoyed it. ... Read more

Since the early '90s, the Breath of Fire series has been a staple onboth the Super Nintendo and Sony PlayStation systems. This version for the GameBoy Advance is a perfect handheld port of the original Super Nintendo game thatstarted it all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Right up there with Final Fantasy
Im a big rpg player and out of all the games ive played, BOF is one of my top favotites. It has a solid story line with Ryu who is out to stop the dark drangons whom threaten to take over the world with the power of the goddes Tyr and find his sister who was captured by the dark dragon clan.Along the way Ryu meets up with seven companions who in turn are out to stop the dark drangons who have wronged them, Nina, Bo, Carn, Gobi, Ox, Blue, and Mogue. Each character posses their own unque abilities as which is common in all rpgs and are essential to the game. What is unique is that Ryu can transform himself into the dragon and you must searc the continents to find his other dragon forms and eventually transform into the ultimate dragon, Angi (not sure of the spelling).
4-0 out of 5 stars hate
I bought this game and couldnt wait to play it when I first got my GBA, but then I kept getting stuck in the same place and had no patience and then when I saved it didnt show and I had to keep starting over, uggh maybe that just my game but man im staying away from breath of fire and most roleplaying games (no patience). The only thing I liked was the graphics, but if you have great patience go ahead and buy, be my guest.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very engaging RPG
Final Fantasy aside, Breath of Fire is one of the longest-running RPG series around, and the handheld version of the first adventure gets decent treatment. Yet despite the re-appearance of the game's fresh visuals and unique play aspects, the lifeless narrative doesn't provide the immersive experience that you'd expect. Originally released by Square on the Super NES in 1994, Breath of Fire arrives on the Game Boy Advance with enhanced cinemas, but otherwise remains unchanged. You play as Ryu, a lone hero who can also transform into a variety of powerful dragons. During the course of Ryu's quest, various characters join your party, each with their own personal demons and diversions that involve the entire team. An RPG's lifeblood is a strong story, but BoF's narrative is remarkably uninvolving. You'll spend a lot of time engaging in mundane tasks-"talk to A, then B, then A again, and then C"-and navigating a series of seemingly endless mazes. Even the turn-based battles lack flair, except for the boss battles. Be prepared to spend a lot of time with this one, but a new Dash feature speeds you through the game and saves batteries. BoF delivers a tight visual and audio package. Colorful sprites fill the screen with arresting colors and special effects, while the soundtrack provides decent music accompanied by muted sound effects. Workmanlike controls feature easy menu navigation and responsive character movement. On the whole, Breath of Fire is an enjoyable RPG that easily kills spare time. Just don't expect a thoroughly involving adventure on the same level as later games in the series. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Megaman BN 1
What a game! I, personally haven't liked a game in the Megaman series this much since Megaman Legends 2.The main protagonist is an eleven year old boy named Lan, who lives in the year 20XX. The world in this distant future is much like ours, except everything in the world is joined by the internet. The internet had become so advanced that you can't just use URL's anymore, but you must use a cell-phone like device, called a PET (Personal Terminal). To use the internet, you must "Jack In" an AI computer program called a NetNavi.Lan's NetNavi is, of course, MegaMan.EXE. Lan realizes that he is an extremely talented "Virus Buster" which means that he can delete viruses.Virus Busting is fought on a 3 X 3 grid, and megaman uses both special attacks, and the Mega Buster, fired with B.Worth the money, if just for the end, Megaman BN 1 keeps you hooked with a cast of endearing characters, and a harsh, serious, and at the same time, hillarious storyline. As I said, great game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun
Mega Man Battlew Network for the GBA is a nice game that is unlike most Mega Man games. In this Mega Man game, you fight on a grid with you on one side and the enemy on another side. On this grid, you can fire as many shots as you want and can choose a special card from a group to use. This is quite fun and most people should enjoy it. When not in battle, you can move around freely and talk to people. You can fight some of the PETs of these people. The plot is pretty basic though there is a small twist. When hooked to the net, you can get into random battles and earn money. There is also a small RPG element present. You can earn upgrades to Mega Man and improve his health, attack, etc. The only problem is that the game can become frustrating if you cannot find out where to go next.

4-0 out of 5 stars megaman rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my opinion, megaman battle network 1 is one of the better games in the series (of course i didn't get to the end of the game but i got pretty darn far). there's many places to jack in, such as lan,s security system (shaped like a doghouse). Many tough bosses such as stoneman. any way you flip the pancake this game is awesome so might i be the first to say jack in!Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Just got this game but bomberman ROCKS!
I won a brand new-shrinkwrapped-never before played (you get the idea) copy of this game off ebay. I played some japanese versions of bomberman games on the gameboy my friend had before he moved. It was like a 12 pack on one gameboy cartridge an i remember there was pocket bomberman, bomberman GB, Warios blast (starring bomberman), an a bomberman game where you could get armor kinda looking like a hovercraft which was possibly bomberman GB 3, possibly bomberman GB 2(included), and the rest were games like super mario land and doctor mario (all in japanese), i rented bomberman 64 (US version) an it was fun an i own and beaten pocket bomberman (US version) for the gameboy. I read reviews an this game looks great. I will update as soon as i receive the game.

5-0 out of 5 stars WHAT a surprise!!
I have never been disappointed with a Hudson based game :) I thoroughly research a game before purchasing it. Read reviews on here and on Game Faqs.comThis is one of the few, unadulterated games I have played, apart from Golden Sun, in awhile. The quest is VERY original-Zelda-type and addictive. ACTUALLY enjoyable. This is Bomberman fun with a nice blend of RPG..unfettered. I cannot stand those platform RPG combos (The latest Zelda games)...very few pull that off effectively. Bomberman Tournament is a great game for those days when you don't want to break your fingers and controller. SURPRISINGLY fun game!!If you want epics this is not for you. If you want fun gaming with some challenge...this is it!PS: BTW according to Nintendo The Legend of Zelda is not an RPG but has always been classified as an action adventure. Was I surprised with that one :)

2-0 out of 5 stars Short and a rip-off of Zelda
First off, this game is way too short. Plus, there's not much replayability involved in it. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Overly Simplistic, and Terrible Gameplay
I will admit this: I only played the game for a total amount of one hour. Why? That was about as long as I could stand playing Onimusha Tactics.
5-0 out of 5 stars Onimusha is great!
This game is a hit! Okay, first of all... I hate these kind of stragety games. When I first started Onimusha, I was like... I thought this was an RPG (Stupid me)! But I played further and once I hit the 25th episode, I was hooked! Great characters, great choices... awesome! It came to an extremely critical point that I needed to look up walkthroughs because the game got so tough. Im on the 44th episode right now. I have one more until the big bad 45th episode, where the master of Genma Nobunaga transforms into the big bad demon with 6000 HP! Hence the number, it really is big. Most master are only 300-999 HP. This is 6000! Play it and beat it and tell me how! LOL.

2-0 out of 5 stars A complete waste of potentional: easy, simple, and formulaic
I've come to expect many strategy games to be hard at first. I had to start Final Fantasy Tactics over a few times just because I couldn't make the right armies. Certain battles, like the one with that Wiegraf guy, were downright frustrating. But I think they were necessary, because they made the game feel that much more epic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pow! Bam! Take that! Ka-blam! Yes! Die! Now to level 2.
This game is awesome... This game's awesome! I love Bomberman! The main game is to lay down bombs and destroys enemies and stuff. It's hard(be prepared to scream at some levels), but it's fun. When a bomb explodes it goes in 4 directions(+). You need to steer clear(one hit k.o.) or you're toast! There's 80 levels divided up into 5 worlds. Each level has it's own mission(get the Karabon* from the teleporter, destroy all enemies, collect all Karabon food, etc). *Karabons are cute Pokemon-type creatures that you can collect, breed, train, and battle. There are 2 Bomberman games for GBA(excluding B-man Tournament), this one and Bomberman Max 2: Red Advance(starring Max!). If you link both of the games up you can unlock 20 levels! There's a single-pack 2 player game that's fun, but the main game is the heart of this game pack. With plenty of levels, great 2 player features, the super-cool Karabons, awesome mini games, and more, there's no reason not to pick this game up!

3-0 out of 5 stars Kind of Stupid, moderately interesting
This game is rather interesting. Some of the puzzles are REALLY hard and I can't even move the pieces around. Plus it's SUPER hard to handle/see because of the TINY Gameboy screen. You can't really figure out what you're doing.
4-0 out of 5 stars It wasn't as good as others
nancy drew... is genius! but having the computer games was good enough. now its for gameboy and it just wasn't as exciting as a lot of the computer nancy drew games. overall i'd say, from a 13 year old, this game, buy it for your computer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Demi-Kids: Darkness of the Day.......
Ever since playing Revelations: The Demon Slayer for the Gameboy Color years ago, I've been a big fan of the Shin Megami Tensei series. Having played nearly every game(handheld or otherwise) that's came out stateside, I decided to give Demi-Kids a try. The first game, out of the two that was released, that I purchased was Darkness of the Day. Much to my surprise, it's the harder game out of the two but is the one I'm most happy playing. In this version, you play as Akira and accompany him on his journey through Dem(whereas in the light version, you play as Jin and accompany Jin as he wanders through Valhalla). Without going into detail about the storyline, it's quite different than Pokemon but shares the same qualities. You take control of a trainer, or "DemiKid" if you will, and set out into the world to recruit monsters to be used in battle. Each demon has its own set of attacks, magic, and skills. Just like Pokemon, each demon also has elemental characteristics(such as fire, water and ice). You can have up to three demons in battle at one time. Additional demons you recruit are stored in a portable computer called a Vinecom(much like the Pokedex). Demikids is also different in the manner in which you capture and evolve the creatures you collect. In order to create a stronger demon, you have to fuse two weaker demons together. Whereas, in Pokemon, your character levels up like you would in a traditional RPG to evolve into it's final form. In the game; you have a handful of sidequests to perform and, if you choose to take them, the reward is often a rare demon that you can't find in the wild or create at a fusion center. Overall; the story is more occult-themed in it's nature and is much more mature than Pokemon, although it's aimed more towards kids who 'gotta catch em all'.
3-0 out of 5 stars Another low-class Pokemon clone
Demi-kids can seem like a great game, and it's fun the first time through. However, like pokemon, it's a monster collection game. There are assorted methods of collecting demons, and the entire thing can get frustrating if you try to capture everything (if such a thing is possible).
1-0 out of 5 stars Poorly designed...
I picked up this game because I've always loved Pokemon, Dragon Warrior Monsters, and the like. I was hoping for all the fun of those games, but with a fresh plot, world, and set of monsters.

4-0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous!
My 8 yr old son bought this with his birthday money and after 20 minutes became very frustrated because it had him in the "Team Formation" setup part over and over.I finally tried and even with the directions (and a graduate degree), it took me over 30 min to get out of the setup loop and actually START the game.It was utterly ridiculous!!A child's video game should not be so involved and should not have 38 steps you have to go through before you can actually begin play.

4-0 out of 5 stars Medabots AX ROCKS..........
Hi my name is sonic5050,(my screenname)and i am a sonic/medabots fan! For the people who love Super Smash Bros.(for gamecube)you should buy this game !!! For those who are looking forward to this game to be like a poke'mon game should think again and wait untill April 18,2003 because medabot metabee gold ver. is gonig to be in stores and my opinon is that i think that it is going to be an adventure game with Metabee(i think that because on the game cover it says RPG ADVENTURE)!!!Now back to the medabots ax you start the game with Metabee/Rokusho showing you around the inland, after that you start off with the main metabot of the game, then you can stert buliding your very own partner (you don't control your partner you control only the leader).Your mission : collect more medaparts and beat all the Trial Match site after that beat the campoinship! You can also trade and robattle with friends that have a GameBoy Advance and a Game BOY ADVANCE GAME LINK CABLE!Well, thats all folks thanks for readingbye!!...

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice game, people, nice game.
Okay, this game is pretty repetitive, but it is also pretty good. Robattling is fun. It's really easy, though. I beat it 2 weeks after I got it. The rubberrobos are hard, and so is the tournament. It was basically luck of the Medaforce. and if you have to give up a part, just press A + B + Start + Select, and you'll start all over. that is why you should always save after winning a 'battle.overall its a good game... ...
