4-0 out of 5 stars You do not need fancy graphics to enjoy a good game.
I remember this game being pretty simple graphics wise if a bit less than Final Fantasy Adventure was, but still you didn't have to pretend the blue was water and the green was land; like Nobunaga's Ambition. You have to remember the age of this game so you can forgive the graphics. I played the Final Fantasy Legend games one after the other in 2001 and enjoyed the experience. For nostalgia it was great but if you haven't played or do not like older games you would not like this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay.... I guess....
I bought this game because I thought it was FF.But its not!It actually SaGa or SagGe or something.2-0 out of 5 stars Despite nostalgia, still a poor game
There is no doubt that Final Fantasy Legend (SaGa in Japan, billed as Final Fantasy in the United States to boost sales) was a highly advanced game for its time (1989).However, it offers nothing that its sequel doesn't offer, and the game is, shall we say, very poor. Not having the advantage of color that its contemporaries (Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy) had, the graphics are so poor that they were actually bad in 1989, which says a lot.The story is about as simplistic as they come, and you should be able to beat this game in a few hours no problem.Considering its limited availability now, I doubt anyone will really want to play this game - trust me, you aren't missing anything. My fellow "old school" RPG players will call me a heretic, but this game has nothing memorable to offer.Skip it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The best RPG of the pre Game boy advance era
This was the greatest RPG ever made for the gameboy (yes even better than any lame Gameboy color RPG except Dragon warrior 3 was good but not better). It was good for it's time. Sometimes some of the lines the characters say can be cheesy but it was a classic. If you are big on old school hndhelds please get this game. you'll be happy you did.

4-0 out of 5 stars With each new Legends game, it just gets better and better.
I remember really enjoying this game. The graphics are remarkably more in detail then the previous Legend games. Role-playing games have something in common which is you need a pen and paper to write down stuff people say to you.I don't remember writing a lot but you see a cave you cannot get to yet, then you would want to write down the grid; the number of squares across and down. Therefore, if you do that then you will not have to worry about it so much. I remember walking around sometimes going "where do I go" but here again if you look back at what people have said to you then you will be pointed in the right direction. I liked the game, for me the frustration level was rare.If you like older games then this will be a fun one for you

3-0 out of 5 stars 3-and-a-half-stars; nostalgia
Final Fantasy Legend III (part of the Saga series in Japan, billed as Final Fantasy in the U.S. to boost sales) is actually a decent game, despite dated Mode-7 graphics and cheesy pre-GBA sounds. It's a standard 4-person-party RPG that requires some tedious leveling, equipment upgrades, and several quests across a variety of settings. The storyline had a lot of potential, and while incomplete at parts, should leave you satisfied at the end.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars FFA
I remember a few years ago playing this game. This was my introduction to the Secret of Mana series even though I believed this to be part of the Final Fantasy series. Maybe they called it this because they didn't know that they were going to make more games with the Mana tree, so no sense in saying FFAII and FFAIII. But the story line is definatly great. You start out as [your name for charecter here] in a forteress where the Dark Lord uses people to play in gladiator like fights. This seems like some of the Final Fantasy games where you start off with normal life for the charecter and then you delve into a rich story line. When you escape the castle, you meet up with a man who was freshly slain by monsters and a girl crying at his side. After talking to her, she tells you that she is looking for an old man. I forget his name since the time it's been, and from there, the story line becomes increasingly better. It was way ahead of it's time where it has plot twists and can bring out emotion in you. I was sad after fighting Medusa (won't say what happened) and at the tree of mana (my lips are still sealed) I don't have this game anymore so I am planning on buying it to beat it again -it's that great! There is also a remake of this game called Sword of Mana for the GBA but has minor changes that are enough for me to shun it because it will ruin my thoughts on one of the most gripping original Game Boy games ever. Buy it now!

4-0 out of 5 stars Simple graphics and yet lots of fun.
I have really enjoyed playing a series beginnings and this game is no exception. I first thought years ago that this was a Final Fantasy game but instead it is a Mana game like Secret of Mana. I remember playing this game and really liking it. It has a story and the graphics are not so sparse that you do not have to pretend the blue is water and the green is land, but rather when you go onto land, there is texture like trees drawn and a cave opening. If you need color graphics then this and other games of this age will not be your cup of tea. I on the other hand had a great time playing it.

4-0 out of 5 stars a lot of fun, the first entry in the Mana series
The first thing to mention is that Final Fantasy Adventure is really part of the Mana series (Secret of Mana, Legend of Mana). This is, I believe, the first game in the series with the sequel being the excellent Secret of Mana for the SNES.I suspect that the reason for the name change is simply that Square thought that the Final Fantasy name would sell more copies when released in America. This is an adventure RPG.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Same great play and the graphics are just a tad better.
I liked playing this game as much as the previous legend game. I remember that with each game I was pleasantly surprised that the graphic was getting subtlety better. I really like role-playing games so graphics is not everything to me as long as I do not have to make something up myself to continue the play. Hum, was that water I crossed? No, I do not want to do that; and you don't in this game. Seeing the beginnings of a series you really like can be a cherished experience and in turn a wonderful memory. Therefore, if you do not mind simple graphics, and like role-playing games you will like this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Unless your an extreme fan of FF
I got this game a long time ago after I bought number 3. Not to knock anyone who likes it but this is by far the 2nd worst game I have ever played. The game so insanely hard that it wasn't fun anymore. I used game shark for max stats and unlimited of the best weapons, and I still found myself dying over and over. But the story is pretty good. You have to travel through a bunch of different worlds looking for the main characters dad. You get to collect different magi, magic stones. That help you get around to different worlds. In every world their is a beanstalk thing that goes up and they all me in this big area going to the next. Progressing through the game is only hard b/c the enemies are hard, but going in the right direction is great b/c people in towns will always tell you. But unless you are a fan, don't buy this.

3-0 out of 5 stars Problematic yet strangely attractive, nostalgic
The storyline to Final Fantasy Legend II (Second installment of the SaGa series in Japan, billed as Final Fantasy in the U.S. to boost sales) is interesting, but the characters in the game are impersonal and the game's bland, linear nature will leave modern games yearning for the depth, control, and immersion that today's RPGs give. Also, the game is incredibly easy until the very end, when it becomes frustratingly difficult. You'll have the ability to customize your part in the beginning, my suggestion is 2 mutants and 2 humans, but after that your wiggle room for customization is very small.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This would be a wonderful game to play no matter how old it is.
I love all the Zelda games so I am partial to giving perfect scores to this series. This was the first Zelda game I had ever played and I was caught from the first time I turned it on and went down to the shore to get my sword and start my adventure into the world of Zelda. The world is large with lots of fun areas to explore and a fun side quest that has you walking all over the world, but wanting what was at the end. I made lots of notes and ended up making a guide for it. This is a timeless game that will endear you as well.

3-0 out of 5 stars zelda reiveiw
I think this game is cool beacuase there is two storys. Also beacause there is alot of challenging levels.Sometimes there could be easy bosses but hard puzzles. In conclusion this game is very fun to play.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST GAMEBOY GAME
This is undoubtedly the best game boy game I have ever played. While the graphics aren't great, the game and storyline make up for it.Even thought I've beaten the game numerous times and have newer game boys and games, I still play it when I have the time.If you own a game boy, you MUST have this game. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The best gameboy game EVER!!
I am 20 years old. I owned one of the original chunky black and white gameboys. So I have played a lot of games over the years, and Im telling you: This one is my very favourite.5-0 out of 5 stars Final Fantasy Adventure
Out of all the FF I have played, this one is the best. The fighting battle is different from the rest yet it keeps you on the edge of your seat to make it very exciting.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Legend of Zelda meets The Secret of Mana
...and they get along very nicely. As old as this game is, it's still one of the best that the Game Boy has to offer. As the title suggests, anyone who has played a Zelda game before will be instantly familiar with the controls and type of gameplay.Veterans of Secret of Mana will easily recognize many of the enemies, the weapons and their uses (such as using the whip to catch poles and jump across gaps), and even a few of the spells look familiar (compare the Fire spell in this game to those in Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3).Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars This game is OK!
Why does everyone think this game is so great?? I find it to be just an average game. You start out with three monsters and you must battle people to get more cards. There are only about 20-30 monsters in this game. They each have attack cards and defense cards. If you want to get more cards, you must battle people in these boring looking dungeons. The people follow you and if they catch you, then you have to battle them. Each dungeon has 6 floors, so by the time you are done, you have battled about 30 people!! The battles so get old, that this game will be left on your shelf in no time! Bottom Line.... Don't buy this game unless you are a really big Monster Rancher fan. Even if you are a Monster Rancher fan, I suggest you buy it for Play Station. I these games you get to battle with REAL monsters, not monster cards. If you aren't a fan and you just want a game that involves cards, try Yu-Gi-Oh. Yu-Gi-Oh ROCKS!

5-0 out of 5 stars BomberMan Quest RULEZ!!!
the first time i played this game i found it very fun. the storyline goes like this while in the galaxly bomberman was travelling in space using the space shuttle carrying monsters he fought. but somehowthe engine was stolen and the monsters escaped... its was the 4 commanders... now bomberman has to fought with all 4 commanders in every big worlds and retrieve his engine. there are 4 big worlds to explore from. each as fun as another. there are many puzzles and this is a game that would just keep you going! featuring new types of bombs that is never seen before with items you can fuse them into new types of bombs! including skull bomb, fire bomb, ice bomb, aqua bomb, flak bomb, long bomb, rubbber bomb, left bomb, right bomb, power bomb and much much more! the items are really cool to having helmets armor speedshoes, tackle belt also more... this game would just take you so long to complete! after you completed normal mode (Quest mode) you can battle with your friend using a game link then you will get stronger and more powerful forms such as fire emperor. BUY THIS GAME! IT IS JUST SO COOL! -Mike S

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good action Very good effects
This game is not as strategic as Zelda or Final Fantasy, but more of an action fighting kind of game instead of trying to solve puzzles. This is a very good game overall and I would recommend it for any kid who likes coolgraphics or an easiy game to learn how to play.If you are just startingwith Game Boy then this is a perfect game. ... I had to buy 2 because it is the only Game Boy RPG that I know of that is networkable between two gameboys. You can actually work together to achieve the game goals. For 8-bit sound and graphics it is outstanding. Also, there is so much freedom in the game.It recommends what to do or where to go but there are infinite possibilities. If you are a game boy fan and like action RPGs, this is a must have.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great fishing RPG,
A great fishing sim. It has some high and low points though. Finishing the quests can take alot of guesswork in the later areas. The combat system seems hacked in and doesn't add much to the game (and because your attack strength is based on your hitpoints it can easily be a downward spiral). It's very relaxing though to let the current drag you around and to castabout randomly for fish to sell for money. All in all, if you like tofigure things out on your own, this is a great game. ok this is one great pokemon game pokemon is the only thing that me and my friends have ever gotten into not this yugioh or digimon pokemon is the best because it has the easiest concept to level up beat the game and catch'em all nbow the pikachu feature i like becasue pikachu is soooooooooo cute but i wish you could play as abecause you couldnt do that until crystal and about the mini game its great but very hard to get to play but when you can its totally worth it plus all the pokemon look like they shoud in the show so thats a plus no more missingno. but that was stupid because i never used it anyway and its a cheap way to beat the game but i did use missingno. and pokemon stadium to transfer rare candies from red and blue to yellow so i could win at prime cup and actually get the mini game so yeah its a good game

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun but some bad points
Yes i'm 12 and am loyal to pokemon to matter what (i've played it for 8 years)i guess yellow is fine but i had a bad impressen on it when was 6. i bought it and found out that your rival hitts you out of the way and steals your eevee!!!!!!!!! That was my favorite pokemon too! =( but they make up for it with another one, too bad i didn't know that when i was 6 years old because i threw it away. p.s. i can breed eevee whenever iwant to on my emerald now so i'd buy yellow or mabe crystal.

4-0 out of 5 stars I Choose You! Pikachu! :3
Pokemon Yellow is an "upgraded" version of Pokemon Red and Blue, and it's really good, being a Pokemon game.Unfortunately, it is somewhat underappreciated, like most Game Boy Color games. And the graphics are somewhat crude, but it doesn't detract from the game at all.

When you turn the game back on you`ll have the pokemon in your party and your PC (but make sure you save afterwards). That`s how I got 10 Typhlosions!

I'm bored so i'm writing a review for this horrible game. The tv series is bad enough so why the hell would they make a game just as bad? the graphics really sucks and so does the sound... DEATH TO ALL POKEMON!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A classic, after all
This game is exactly the same than the Blue Version (I reviewed it some time ago) the only thing that changes it's the Pokemon frequency and there's also exclusive pokemon at this one. It's also funny and nice until you finish all. It ain't hard, but either easy, you need a complete strategy and good techniques to do it. I really enjoyed this game in its both versionbs and still do.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Beginning Of The Classic Series
We probably all know about the hype that Pokemon (Pocket Monsters) has received about 7 years ago. It started off as a game that originated in Japan around 1995-1996, and it was introduced to the United States in 1998. A TV show and a trading card series followed. Plush Pikachu dolls were everywhere. I was a big fan of this fad, and I was only in the 5th grade (late 1999) when I purchased this game and strapped in for the time of my life.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Classic
Pokemon blue is hands down the best pokemon game along with red and yellow chiefly because they are the origanals, they do not mess around with all the technical crap of colour graphics etc etc they concentrate on the game playability and fun. it is great to pay over and over you can loose yourself in the game. i would 100% recommend this game to anybody who likes pokemon or just anyone who loves gaming!!

5-0 out of 5 stars I've had my pokemon red and blue since 1998 and I still think they're better than the newer ones
I bought my pokemon red and blue when I was 8 years old in 1998, and I still play them every now and again. The original pokemon red and blue games are by far my favourite ones. I love the idea when I'm playing a game that came out like 8 years ago and I know that it was once the only one of its kind that people ever knew. They were certainly very popular in back in the 90's. Yeah, the newer ones have better graphics, more pokemon, etc. but does that make them the most enjoyable? I also own pokemon yellow, green (a japanese one), gold, silver, crystal, ruby, sapphire, emerald, fire red, and leaf green, and I still think the original red and blue are, and always will be, the best. No matter how hard people try to re-make them to improve their graphics, the original version will still be better.
