4-0 out of 5 stars Difficult as hell, but enjoyable nontheless
First of all, let me just get it out in the open: this is probably the most difficult RPG I've ever played in my entire life. That being said, this is also one of the several RPGs I remember playing and enjoying as a child, and as a result I've grown quite nostalgic about it. Back in the day I used to think this game was perfect, but after replaying it a couple of times and letting reality sink in I've sadly come to see otherwise. The graphics, in a word, suck, though if you don't care at all about graphics you won't mind them. The music's alright, nothing to write home about but there are a few memorable tracks. The fighting system is really cool and unique, definitely one of the game's main highlights. The level of challenge is quite high IMO, and if you're a casual RPG gamer you'll probably find this game to be destroying you within in a couple of hours. The characters IMO weren't that interesting, but I won't complain that there were only three of them because the number works very well with the battle system. I was also disappointed by the low amount of side quests the game contains; there's really not a whole lot to do besides advancing the story. All in all this is no FFVII or VIII, though if you're a dedicated RPG player with the right amount of patience and skill there's still some fun to be had here.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite PSone Games
I first got a taste of "Legend of Legaia" when I was 9 or so from a Demo Disc that came with my Playstation one. It's been seven years since then and this is still one of my favorite games. It isn't without it's flaws, but, in my opinion, the good outweighs the bad.
5-0 out of 5 stars Good game.
This game is real good, must've been about 5 or 6 years ago when I first rented and played it. I believe I rented it again soon after, but after that I hadn't played it. I always remembered it though, and until last week I kept my save-game. Now I figure I wouldn't remember the story so I might as well start over. Can't wait to get my hands back on this game though. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best RPG Games I've Ever Played In My Entire Life! (Edited Review)
For those of you who are reading this review, this is the edited review, not the previous one of mines.
5-0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best RPG Games I've Ever Played In My Entire Life
This game rocks! The graphics looks blurry or something, but the main thing that I really like about are the bosses, their moves, the characters, and the "Heraldic Ruins". The Heraldic Ruins are an additional place for you to go. Strong enemies, rare items, and new killer moves awaits you. If you're interested in getting there, follow these steps. First, at Nede planet, you have to get on the last level on where the Ten Wise Men is. Then go back again and go to Fun City. Go to the tournament arena and you have to find an old man there. He has green cloths, a green cap or hat, and he has white hair. Talk to him and he will say "Shall I recover your memories?" Then Claude or Rena will say "You're joking, right?" Then the old man will say something further on. Then he'll ask you if you really want to try it. Keep saying yes. Then he'll say, "Now, close your eyes." Then you'll be transported to Expel at Arlia. Go out of Arlia then you'll see your Synard there. Ride on it and go to an island that's like colored sand or tan all over. Then you'll see a small pyramid which leads you to the Heraldic Ruins. There are 13 levels and mostly you have to figure out what to do in each level in order to open and fight the bosses and go on to the next level. If you want to get back to Nede, you have to go out of that place, ride your Synard and go back to Arlia. Then go to your right and you'll see a penguin at the fence. Talk to the penguin and he'll say something to you that you don't understand. You have two choices. One is, "I don't understand." And the other one is "You silly Vern Vern!" Pick the second choice. Then the penguin will get angry at you and kick you out of the planet. Then you'll arrive back at Nede. Keep doing this process so you can go back and forth anytime. Thanks for reading this!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best rpg of all time
This game has so many items (over 11000)! the graphics are really good for the time period it was made. the story is easy to understand. there are many characters to unlock while you travell around two vast worlds! you can always choose your battle type which makes this game more fun. there are three battle types full control no control and semi-control. these make the battles suit the person playing the game. once you start playing you wont want to stop thats a guarantee!

5-0 out of 5 stars Difficulty is fun, but...
Wild Arms 2 is a nice addition to the famous Wild West fantasy series, but many may not find this as western as the other two. The lack of wild west aspect (save for the wild west music and towns) makes it seem somewhat stale in comparison to the first one and doesn't even compete with the third one. The game's battle system is easy to follow, but the monsters are a step up from the previous game's creatures. More than not, many monsters are faster than your group and abuse that advantage to no avail. The equipping of Guardians to boost parameters and gain an extra ability in battle is a welcome addition to combat and the use of ARMS (special artillery like the ones Rudy used in WA1) makes for some nice gunmetal action. Crest magic is back and comes with more features, including special rare crests that can cut the FP cost for magic or increase the power by 1.5 times. That and the fact you have six members makes this a more engrossing WA than the other two. Each character develops nicely even though one might expect more considering the game's length. If you want to do EVERYTHING in this WA, you're looking to clock in over 70 hours of gameplay.
4-0 out of 5 stars Not as strong as the original, but still very enjoyable...
Wild Arms 2, like most sequels, would have the incredibly hard task of following the series dynamite debut back in 1997. While many think that sequels never attain the level of the original (thus the theory of diminishing returns) Wild Arms 2 holds up pretty well overall, but doesn't really break any new ground for the series.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game was Awesome
if you like action adventure games this is a great one. the story is amazing and gamplay is great. it's a very long game which i like cause i feel like i get my moneys worth. and i play through the game a couple times a year and. and one more thing please do not compare this to final fantasy.

4-0 out of 5 stars My Namesake
Brave fencer musashi is a title that is not intended to be anything like Final Fantasy games. That is probably why it was not actually given the Final fantasy title. I wish that people would stop comparing it to said title. Same company does mean same games. Overall, however, BFM is very fun game that still has me stuck on the last level, but thats because I'm lazy. Don't read too much into the voice acting. It is meant to make you laugh, not to mention it is squaresofts first attempt at voice acting in games.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brave New Hero Musashi
Musashi is a long game in which you don't get bored, why?, the reason is that Musashi gets new habilities during the whole game,he also can absorb his enemy's power with a powerful sword called lumina, the other sword can absorb the elements scrolls like water, fire, earth, wind and sky.I recomend this game because you will get a lot of fun and never get bored with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun, But Tough
This game really gets hard at the end of the game when you get to the last four duelist. you would have to have monsters with more than 3000 attack points. it's a very fun game though. If you want a challenge then try this game out.
4-0 out of 5 stars egyptian legends, giant monsters and strange-lookin' duelists!
Now what kicked me when I first played this was that you started with a rubbish deck. Now, that was quite obvious with all 500 - 700 atks and only a few spells and no trap cards. But, look closer and you can fuse together most monsters. No need for Polymerisation - just press up on the controller to put a tag on your cards and press X to fuse them together to create a beast of even more power! I managed to create Thousand Dragon by fusing Time Wizard with any dragon! Later on however the duels get very tough! I JUST managed to beat Ishizu in the semi-final round for god's sake!` And now Im on Kaiba and he's really hard!
5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best yugioh games ever made!
This game is so cool that I wish my friend had it. In it I entered cheat codes and I got some of the strongest cards in the game! I got the 5 pieces of Exodia (I entered codes on the game shark so I could have infinete star chips), Blue Eyes, Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth, Dark Magician, and many other good cards. I tried to get Gate Gaurdian (Because I have the pieces in my deck but what sucks is that it won't fuse to form him!), Toon World, and all that good stuff but somehow it won't let me get em! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars RPG with no materias? RPG with no character classes?
So, you have an RPG set in modern time, where everyone can cast spells, more or less efficiently. The game IS 5 party members RPG adventure, and is much closer, in my opinion, to original Bard's Tale or Eye of Beholder than to Final Fantasy VII or Xenogears.
5-0 out of 5 stars Kick It Persona!
Oh yes, the beginning of the Shin Megami Tensei Persona series. What an excellent game! One of the early PS1 RPGs with minor voice acting in battles, I was astounded by this game which likes to take a darker approach to RPGs. Everything from the characters to the battle system to the philosophical basis on which the game was formed, I never got tired of this game.
5-0 out of 5 stars Brillance
This was the first attempt at a 3d rpg id had ever scene I spent hours just battling away. Discovering new persona and items. The interaction system was among its greatest inovations for a console allowing to try and talk you way out of fighting and gain somethign by it. 5-0 out of 5 stars 2nd Best RPG on Playstation
Besides Final Fantasy 7, this is one of the best RPG's I have played on Playstation. It's encaptivating for everyone. I'm 17, but I find this to be one of my favorite games to play. It keeps the strategy of an RPG with an underrated performance of gameplay. The story starts off quickly, so there isn't very much interruption, and things just gain from there. New weapons, armor, etc. Highly Recommended to those new at RPG's or those who just want to have a fun time.

5-0 out of 5 stars This E really is for Everyone.
I've had a hard time finding any truly clean role playing games at all for my son on psx. Even some of the cute cartoony looking ones rated E for Everyone(6&up)like Threads of Fate have adult language at least. I mean I live in the real world, but let's allow kids to play some kid's games sometimes. Guardian's Crusade is huge fun, it is easy enough for the little guy, and it's got to be the cleanest rpg for psx or ps one in terms of content. I got one as fast as I could, since Amazon was the only place I could find it. Meanwhile maybe it's time for a gamecube...

4-0 out of 5 stars One for the kids perhaps?
With a pink pig as one of the main characters, and only being able to summon "toys" rather than dragons or GF's, you may be under the impression this is not a game for the genuine RPG fan. However, do not let these facts protract from what is an enjoyable, entertaining, light-hearted RPG, which can become strangely addictive. The plot is kept simple and straightforward, the battle action is the usual turn based affair and the world is quite large and easily accessable. The toys are picked up throughout the game, and can be used to attack, defend, heal and generally cause havoc to all, much like magic. One of the innovative ideas in this game is that you can actually see how powerful a random enemy is before you go into battle: If you want the cowards way out, you can run away without entering into the battle scene, likewise if you are foolhardy, you can travel around only pitting your skills against the nastier opponents. With all this said, this game is no FF or Xenogears which have great storylines and character interraction, but dont let this put you off, this game is definitely worth a try! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Saiyuki????
I hope this isn't supposed to be a game related to tv series or manga. Because if it is they royally screwed up. I haven't played it but from what I see it probably isn't worth it. But then I may be saying that because I am a hardcore Saiyuki fan. I have every single episode and movie. What happened to the actual Goku? And what happened to Hakkai and Gojyo being apart of the party?

4-0 out of 5 stars It's a keeper
I'm really into the Saiyuki anime that is running in Japan. In looking for Saiyuki on amazon I found this game. I'm happy to have obtain it since there isn't any talk at all about it. I love the game, it gives me about 40 hours of game play and a good store line. Granted, you need patience to play the game due to the turn based system.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very good story...
Another solid tactical rpg, based on a great story and well designed. Its too bad this was one of the last playstation titles released and has been overlooked for the most part. The only complaint i have was there was little in terms of side quests, and the game was fairly easy. I did not lose a single character in battle, the dojo's for practicing and leveling up was interesting but I found that a little tedious. The missions where better to do anyways cause you could earn gold and why fight for free? Anyways its not final fantasy tactics, tactics ogre, or vandal hearts 1/2 but if you've beat all those too, then this is solid game to enjoy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A cute game with good re-play value
Although the cute animation and PG rating suggests that Chocobo's Dungeon 2 is a kid's game, it has enough challenges to keep an adult player interested. As the title says, this is primarily a dungeon game, where you have to solve mazes, fight monsters, win items, etc. in order to advance the story. What makes it better than most dungeon games are the randomly-generated floor plans. When you exit a dungeon and re-enter, the maze will be entirely different. You still encounter the same monsters and events, but the path to get there is a whole new challenge. This greatly enhances the re-play value of the game, and also keeps you interested if you have to repeat a dungeon -- and you will, because parts of this game are really HARD.(The Sea Floor Dungeon has 27 levels!)4-0 out of 5 stars This Game
This game is based on a Chocobo that travels an adventure through dungens with a mog and meets new friends. This Chocobo, A bird type animal, learns magic and finds new wepons, which are claws. There are pots that one can mix two wepons to make a better one. When a high level claw is broken a feather is gained which can be use to summon a summon. There are also potions that heal when the Chocobo is low on healthThis is a very good game for Chocobo Final Fantasys Fans.

This game is great! You start as a young monster tamer in the city of Monsibya. One of the down sides is that every time you enter the tower you start at level 1. Also, you can only bring 5 items into the tower. You start with kewne, a fire type. You find items in the tower that can change the type to water or wind. Water beats fire, wind beats water, and fire beats wind. Basically, you find demon eggs and other treasures that you can ONLY keep if you survive, and you can sell them to make a few renovations to the town and your house. The renovations will provide extra activities (You'll find out what later). The priest will suggest what to build. In conclusion, that it is a game that you will enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Satisfaction level is high if you can do it.
This game can try your patience. If you are good at playing older Mario games, then you will have more than half chance to beat this game.I found it very hard to say the least. In some levels especially toward the end, I would try a level for a couple of hours and when I would advance, I would quit, and try some weeks later when I mentally wasn't spent. I could not forget about it; every time I beat a level I would think "maybe I could do the next one." I could not beat the boss at the end and had to be satisfied with that. Almost at the end of the game, I found a cheat, it is the first time I have used cheating and it helped me mentally to keep trying, and to see the ending.I wouldn't use this until you really, really need it, because it would ruin the satisfaction level for you. To see ALL Cinemas and Levels * with the game off hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 *on controller 2 * (you must be in the second controller slot) Keep holding those buttons and access the options screen, then the tree house, then load game. You can save and keep your progress after using this.
4-0 out of 5 stars PLAY IT ALL DAY LONG!!!
It took years for this game to be pushed down my list of all time favorite games. If your looking for a hard game, a brain game, an action game, a science fiction game, a fun game, but not a frusterating game, then you have to buy this one.I beat it in a couple of days, but to this day (years later) I can still remember it and still feel the want of playing it again.I envy those playing this game for the first time.It is a trully unique game that combines the best of "Earthworm Jim", "The Oddworld Series" and even "Lost Vikings" into a wonderful imaginative game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Playing MonsterSeed
I'm reviewing RPG, Adventure and Strategy games, this game is a mixture between Jade Cocoon and Final Fantasy 7.5-0 out of 5 stars wow, this game is hella cool
hmmm... good game. If you liked Dragon Warrior Monsters, Final Fantasy Tactics, or Dragon Seed (no relation), you'll love it. This game incorperates a monster hatching system like DWM and one of the best battle systems ever, the FFT/Tactics Ogre system. The translation is terrible, but it doesnt affect the game too much, and adds a few laughs to generally grim gameplay. The fights are very grim, as anyone who falls and is not raised immediatly says a few final word and then dies, even though the fighting is presented as a sport in the arena. Plenty of cool looking beasties to look as as well as some cutsie ones to stomp on. Buy it.

Okay I want you to buy this video game so u will apreciate good video games like Xenogears and Saga Frontier. God even Tonka Space staions better than this. I bought it at a store ya see I kinda wondered why it was so cheap. You get in a battle so often you never leave one spot. But do buy it you could never Imgane how bad it is untill you played it. If u like Woodywood Pecker racing you just might like this and you just might be a bad video game lover too. Peace

5-0 out of 5 stars Playstation's 1st RPG
Not too complicated, yet entertaining, this first foray into fantasy RPG's by Playstation was great fun without being particularly unforgiving like some other games. The main downside was the constant combats; you couldn't walk three feet without an encounter. Also, judging which of the three late stage additions to the party should be allowed to judge to 5 person roster was cumbersome. Nveer mind waiting forever to get Samson's curse lifted! Still, a pleasure all the same.

1-0 out of 5 stars The problem with Allied General
Allied General is a good concept, allowing individuals to be the 'good guys' after experiencing Panzer General. In practice, it is absurdly difficult. For one thing, assigning the allies a set number of turns for victory is ridiculous. Would Stalin, FDR, or Churchill have given up after Stalingrad because of any kind of time factor whatsoever?! The wildly inncurate historical errors spring forth from the very beginning of play. The Russians took an embarrassingly long time to crush Finland, but ultimate Soviet victory was never in doubt.5-0 out of 5 stars one of my all time favorites
this game is awesome it takes hours and hours to play but you'll love every second thinking about your next move and conteracting your opponet to save europe and the world will keep you coming back time after time I have played this game for about 5 years and I still love it ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars this game is just stupid
Okay I understand why some developers want to create numerous Zelda clones. After all, the Legend of Zelda series is way popular and has generated millions of dollars. But where others have succeeded, Monkey Hero has failed. From the bland graphics, to the even worse intro, it is just flat-out horrible.

1-0 out of 5 stars Can't even tell you if it's bad or not
Simply put, the game doesn't even work on the Playstation 2.I have never ran into problems running Playstation 1 games on the Playstation 2.This is the first.I couldn't get past the "start game".I would get those jumbled graphics that you used to see at the start up of the old video games like Galaga and then I'd get nothing.I tried resetting the game 3 times to no avail.1-0 out of 5 stars Not A Purchase You would Want For A 6 yr Old.
I purchased this playstation game for my 6 year old son and he and I thought it was one of the worst games out there. Couldnt even hold his interest for 5 minutes. That is a record for my son who could spend hours playing games. Goofy, Tom & Jerry House Trap Tarzan and Mega Man are much more suitable for this age level. This game is along the same lines as Rascal but even worse. I would say save your money it would be a waste spending it on this game!!!1 ... Read more
