5-0 out of 5 stars Price on this item is wrong
The price on this new DVD edition should be $9.95 not $29.95. That was the price of the old Editor's Choice edition.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Game but Difficult!!
I have always been a fan of UT.I played the original for years but never did 2003.I purchased UT 2004 maybe a month ago and played it a considerable bit.Its a great game!!Awesome graphics and great gameplay. My only complaint is with the difficulty settings:It is tough!Even on the default difficulty.I couldn't imagine playing it at harder settings.I would get slaughtered!!Otherwise, it is still incredibly fun and the new team management options adds a new twist to UT.

5-0 out of 5 stars id Software actually has competition?
... well, I didn't think so before playing Unreal Tournament 2004. I had to get this particualr product for a class project. I'm using the level editor to make my own level. Yes, it is cool and relatively easy to do. However, it requires some fairly powerful hardware. The tutorials on the bonus disc are very informative and helpful. The game itself is a blast. I especially like the secondary function of the Link Gun. It vaporizes opponents like a soldier that had an unfortunate encounter with Martians in a '50's Sci-Fi movie. How cool is that?

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth it!!!
While I was also sceptical about the 4-6 hour idea, the game is just so well done that I can't fault Valve for going the epispodic route.Would I have preferred HL3?Sure, but there is something to be said for not having to wait 2-3 years for the next one. . .As mentioned, the graphics are amazing on this expansion, noticable in almost every detail and in the lighting, which is incredibly realistic.Gameplay is great, with some interesting twists, old standby's like Barney and new combine baddies to overcome.Allin all a great game; can't wait for episode 2!Oh, I couldn't get the game to load off the disc from amzn, but it was relaitively easy to get from Steam. . .

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic continuation of the Half Life story. Essential!
Half Life 2 is in my opinion the best computer game that has ever been made. So I was obviously very excited about getting my hands on this expansion. Firstly, I have noticed quite a few reviewers giving the game terrible reviews due to it not running correctly on their PCs. Well, I'm happy to say that I had no dramas whatsoever. I do however have broadband Internet, so the massive downloads that Steam based games require do not affect me too much. But I can understand why other people would find it all rather frustrating.
5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely outstanding. A must have. Period.
I can't believe the number of one star reviews and that this game has only 3 and 1/2 stars rating overall. It's ridiculous.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is an Awesome game...should be played by WAYYY more people
"I've played Half-Life 2," and "Battlefield 2," and this is more enjoyable for what it is...
1-0 out of 5 stars It is a tedious game that made me sick
Tediously long and weary. Nothing interesting, just a lot of borrowed ideas from RTCW, HL2, etc. I am sick of this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, Great Game
I'm not a huge FPS fan but every once in a while I need to fulfill my animalistic urges to blow something up and lay waste to others.FarCry is a beautiful game topped only by its playability. The AI is "smart" and will sneak around and flank, call for backup, sound alarms, etc... instead of just barrleing straight at you.A couple of times I've made the mistake of focusing on one guy or area and had another enemy pop up right in my face from the side.

5-0 out of 5 stars It Couldn't be Better....For the First Game....
I LOVE this game! The storyline is wonderful!I guess if you feel bored with the campaign, just go looking for easter eggs! But what I LOVE is playing multiplayer! And someone did bash the multiplayer, but there are TONS of rooms that will kick you out for cussing and/or killing your teammates! I've had this game for years, and I never get tired of playing online!Actually...it's kind of addicting...

5-0 out of 5 stars Halo is an ausome game no matter what the other reviews say!
Halo combat evolved is one of the best games I have played. I haven't played multiplayer yet. This game has good graphics and a great storyline. You start out on the human ship the pillar of autumn. The covenent (sorry if i spelled this wrong) ship has cought up with the pillar of autumn and has boarded it. The covenent are aliens fighting to destroy the human race. Your only choice is to take cortana the main information program and try to escape the damaged pillar of autumn. You escape onto a giant ring floating in space. The outside of the ring is metal. But the inside is a world much like earth. The covenent believe Halo(the ring) is a weapon. The covenent do not know how to use Halo yet. You find Halo's main control system and find out what Halo really is. It is a prison for the flood. The human flood are truly gross creatures and I will not go into full detail about their "habits". Halo is not only a prison to keep the flood from escaping and spreading across the universe but it is also a place to study the human flood. This is only a few parts of the game. Don't ask me how I went from building to building without getting lost. All of the buildings look the same on the inside so watch out! I love the machines you get to ride in. My favorites are the ghosts. I highly recommend this game to any gamer anywhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly reccomended way to become socially reclusive!
Love this game. Great story line. Just make sure your computer can handle it. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars How much time do you have?
This game is a blast- no way around it.But Steam, Valve's annoying memory hog run in the tray adware copyright protection content delivery applicationis a constant source of screaming fits.Every time I sit down and I just want to play for 30 minutes or something before work or school, Steam throws an error and refuses to let me into the game, even going so far as to tell me that I do not own the game, or its "unavailable."
1-0 out of 5 stars Excellent game, spoiled by the most intrusive piracy protection ever!
I endorse all the other reviewers postive comments about this game.As 1st person shooters go, it's about as good as they get.But I felt I had to post a warning for anyone who, like me, had no idea about this 'Steam' anti-piracy thing.
5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best ever.
To say this game is great is an understatement. The level of immersion and graphical quality present in this game are almost unparalleled. The best part of this edition is the addition of Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. There's nothing better than playing multiplayer with the gravity gun! Also, this version is far superior to both the original PC and XBox versions. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best PC Shooters Avaliable
After having this game for a little over two months now, I still have not even begun to get bored by it. The maps are big enough that you can always find a new hiding place or shortcut. The truly great thing about this game is that it is easy to just jump in and start playing, but as you start getting more involved in the battle you start to discover new things. The path of discovery ultimately leads to learning how to fly the various aircraft and becoming an ace pilot. Until the Battlefield series, the only exceptional online shooters were in the Medal Of Honor series, but the Battlefield series easily trumps any other war shooter with a combination of servers that support up to 64 players, the ability to team up with said players in a variety of ways (for instance, one time my team took a helicopter to an attack point, parachuted out of the chopper when we were getting shot at, and landed by a land transport vehicle, which we hijacked and drove to a nearby port, making our getaway on a boat), a truly brilliant game engine, and some impressive maps. I still have to get the expansions, which I have heard make the game even more astounding. If you are interested to any degree in online shooters, pick this one up.

3-0 out of 5 stars Count on the Swedes to screw up a five star game
This game is loads of fun, but make sure you have the necessary hardware to handle it, and make sure you install the patches in proper order. I have vanilla BF2 and installed the incremental patches, and have had no problems outside of the numerous well-known bugs. I've been lucky because I've never had to reinstall the game and patches, like many others have.
1-0 out of 5 stars How shameless...money buys you better weapons
This game has a scoring system, and as the player earns points, they get promoted and "unlock" better weapons.

3-0 out of 5 stars Kind of a let down
Maybe I've just become jaded, but Quake 4 was a bit of a letdown for me.I'm a FPS fan, just read my UT04 and FEAR reviews and you'll see that, but I blew thru this game in no time. After the final cutsceen, I thought "That's it?!"The graphics are great, the controls are great, but there was something missing for me.Too linear and straight forward. It's not that I didn't like the game, it just didn't wow me like I thought it would. The big suprise was ruined for everyone long before the game hit the shelves, so you spend the first third of the game waiting for it to happen. It happens, you go on, no big deal.

4-0 out of 5 stars Like quake 3...alot like quake 3
A little more eye candy but way too much like the predecessor. Worth a shot.

5-0 out of 5 stars Holy Crap
I got this game the day it came out and all I have to say is WOW! The visuals in the game are stunning and if thats not enough it has some of the best gameplay that i have ever played. i got it in 2005 or whenever it came out and im still playing it today almost a year later and ill be playing it for much longer it is by far the best game i own for PC X-BOX and gamecube. stunning graphics and a very realistic gameplay make this game a tresure it is a must buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Even Better than COD
Graphics are improved over COD (which were pretty good in thier own right) and it's an action filled game. I recommend that you have a pretty fast system and good video card for this one as it's graphic intense.
4-0 out of 5 stars Superb first person shooter
There is no doubt in my mind that Call Of Duty 2 is the most intense and engrossing FPS I've ever played. The best? Well, that's up for debate and it's unanimous that CoD2 makes no effort to innovate the genre but nonetheless, the way the game proceeds at breakneck speed for almost the entire thing makes for barrels of fun. It should be noted that if you like the traditional FPS feature of puzzle solving and tactics, this isn't really for you. CoD2 is to Thief: The Dark Project what the 100 metre sprint is to golf. By the way, I haven't played the first Call Of Duty so this is my first time playing the series.

3-0 out of 5 stars If you needed an excuse to buy a better video card
Game Play:
1-0 out of 5 stars It's not what you're thinking
This game is so popular only because of advertisement. Just think about these facts: the single player is so short that it take no longer than 4 hours, and the story is extremely stupid, especially the ending when there is nuclear explosion, and our hero flyes out of there on helecopter!!!
3-0 out of 5 stars Fun game, BUT......
it just couldn't hold my attention. I guess I still hold all 1st person shooters to the Half Life 2 standard.

4-0 out of 5 stars In some ways better then Doom 3 and then others not....
Overall it was not bad.
4-0 out of 5 stars More enjoyable than Doom 3...
Straight away, you are back into Doom 3's claustrophobic, yet stifling `walk in this direction' gameplay. However, this game, albeit a really short game, seems to be more enjoyable than the sobering Doom 3. Firstly, the monsters are better placed - and, seem rather timid at the thought of running aimlessly in front of your weaponry (for example, the zombie soldiers hide more, especially behind crates, etc).
5-0 out of 5 stars More Blastin'
More goodies to see, more bad guys to blast.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not as great or revolutionary as it should have been
I remember when "Doom 3" first came out there was a lot of hype on the Internet. People were claiming it would blow away the release of "Half-Life 2" with id's new engine, etc. etc. etc.
5-0 out of 5 stars Don't let stingey reviews deter you from this game
A brilliant remake of the original classic! Although I am an avid fan of the first DOOM...I strongly urge you to NOT juxtapose the two. If you sit back and pick apart the differences between them, you'll never enjoy DOOM 3.
4-0 out of 5 stars A short criteria so's not to bore you.
I've been through Doom3 now three times. The first time I didn't even cheat.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game rocks!!!
This game is the best Star Wars game I've ever played. Sadly there is only 10 hours of gameplay and only 3 levels. But the levels are long. Some parts can be difficult and when your alone you start to miss your squad. Overall if your a Star Wars fan you'll love it and if your not a fan you'll still love it.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great cutscenes and gameplay
The game plays great, scenery and enemies are very well done so if you're into the star wars genre you'll love it. The game is very balanced too, not boringly easy or unplayably hard. The only real problem with the game is you'll wish there were more single player levels. After playing Far Cry which takes some serious time to conquer, it's not brief but it does seem short.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wicked Game
This Game is awesome man. My friend has this game and its wicked. It's a little confusing and hard when you start, but you get the hang of it. You can change what you look like and what your lightsaber looks like. It is funny when you rescue prisoners because you get to a safe place away from the rancor, and then all of a sudden a prisoner turns a corner and the rancor comes chasing after him. There are cheats you can type in.I`ll give you one cheat. You press and hold down the left shift, the plus sign, and then the ~ buttons. Then type in helpusobi 1. Then type in "undying."What I really like about this game is the swinging, throwing, and shooting action. My drain is level 6 right now and grip is level 4.

This is one of the best games ever made.when i first got i spent all my free time trying to beat the game.thats how good it is.As you probaly heard in other reviews, there is the new space fights. But i really like the jedi v.s. sith fights.IN these fights, you can be any jedi or sith and fight aganist the oppisite team. You have a unlimated amount of lives. It relaly is alot of fun.Try and get this game and fight as the sith so they can rule the world!

4-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining first person shooter
SWB2 is an entertaining first person shooter rich in Star Wars lore. The game is modeled as an online game, with "monster generators" pouring out good guys and bad guys on both sides in the single player version. The pace is very fast (if you want to win). Each map (mission) is highly scripted into multiple objectives, and you don't know how many objectives in advance, which only heightens the frustration when you complete four out of five (?) objectives. Normally one would simply change the dificulty level to get past problem missions, but only normal and dificult settings are available.
3-0 out of 5 stars I prefer console version
ps2 version was good, someone told me that the pc version was better. I strongly disagree. thats all. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Cheap fun multiplayer war action
I've actually only played single-player for about five minutes just to learn the moves on this game and the rest of the time have gone online for the multiplayer, which is great fun.
3-0 out of 5 stars AI is horrible, not realistic, but a fun game.
Personaly I feel Medal of Honor was better constructed.Medal of Honor has way better squad AI and the game flows better. It's also a bit more exciting.Nothing beats the Omaha beach mission.
5-0 out of 5 stars BEST FPS EVER! Forget medal of honor!
This game is amazing. It has good graphics and great gameplay. I like it a lot better than medal of honor because it is just more realistic. in moh you blast through a whole panzer division on your own, in COD it is more realistic because you have squad members with you and the objectives are more realistic.(though you still kill an insane amount of enemies for one guy). Its great because its challenging enought to be fun but not so much that youre stuck playing the same level over and over forever.(like in MOH) The multiplayer is also very good, though you need to beat the campain a few times because some of the online players are freaks they are so good.also when youre playing multiplayer you need to stick to it for a while and find your little niche(charging with a submaching gun, sniping with a sniper or blasting away with an M1) ... 4-0 out of 5 stars very good but lacking research.
This was a very good game but i should go over the points. 1 the japanese had a british machine gun(COD). 2 flying the planes is next to impossible. 3 u get shot once your dead. but it was a great game all the same. just needs to be more realistic.

2-0 out of 5 stars bad
i bought this game because i recently beat call of duty. i chose between this and dod:S. this had mroe games, so i bought it. i loved the battlefield 2 game, very fun. but this game is so very lacking. where do i start? no diversity of weapons like cod. what do i mean? the japanese have the stens and brens, the us have enfields, the british have thompsons, bars, and garands. then theres the axis with the mp44 mp40 kar, and kar sniper. theres way to few weapons. theres no online ranking system either. this game isnt NEARLY as fun and battlefield 2. all the sudden bam your dead. with battlefield 2, you get shot, but you have the chance to see the enemy and kill them too. in this game, the hitboxs are terrible too. i snuck up on a guy, with a lee enfield sniper, and at his head, and shoot. nothing. he turns around, with a pistol, and shoots me in the leg, i died. the levels are also incredibaly bland. i only give 2 stars because theres a very wide variety of levels, but they seriosly need to let the players use the full aresenals. not swapping around guns to the japanese that the brits should have, american guns the brits shouldnt have ETC. even the russians dont have the mossin nagat. they just have a heavy support weapon you can fire standing up. its like firing one of those mg-42 standing up, but with no recoil. im super pissed i bought this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Battlefield 1942 The Complete Collection
This is definitely an excellent collection which has provided many long hours of fun for my guild members and I. I would highly recommend this boxed set for anyone who enjoys playing cooperative, multi-player, first person shooter action games. The varied array of weapons, vehicles, terrain and missions will keep you and your friends coming back for more. I give this one an overall rating of 5/5! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Call Of Duty Deluxe review
This game is quite enjoyable.I have finished the first game CD and it was great fun!The second CD was quite challenging at the start being at the fronline action. The game music supplied in a separate CD I have installed in my 6 CD changer in th ecar and the music is very interesting! The game plays very well on an Athlon 2800 chip unsing nVidia 64 MB video card.

5-0 out of 5 stars awsome game
when it comes to world war 2 games, the 2 games that come to mind are battlefield 1942 and call of duty. im gonna say it flat out, buy call of duty. it has a very fun singleplayer story spanning many levels, many diverse weapons(unlike battlefields 10 guns), and great multiplayer. it also has some cool mods out for it.

5-0 out of 5 stars EXTREMELY Great Game
I own both CoD and CoD2, and I can say that they are both top-notchgames.I think that some of the best multi-player maps are included with this game, and I think it's a must for any FPS gamer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for after work
I don't play FPS for the difficulty level or for the bleeding edge AI(though it definitely adds to the realism). I play for the fun factor and level design, and this game has these in buckets.
2-0 out of 5 stars BORING
The same old stuff with a different theme. You enter a living spaceship and the graphics are great, music ok, acting ok.Other than walking on walls, and upsidedown, there is nothing new. They use Indian Folklore to make the game "different". There are great books about our native Americans.Read "Hanta Yo" the best book ever written about the Lakota. This is just a bloodbath. There is gratuitous blood and body parts all over the place.Lots of screaming in the background. If you've played other FPS games, Doom, Fear, etc, then you have already played Prey. If you like bloodbath games, you will like it.I did not like it. My two stars are for effort.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great After Work Fun
This game is sooo much fun. It IS possible to give the game the right challenge... just use quicksave and don't use the spirit death bullcrap that was made for the FPS-challenged console crowd. "No, I'm a grown up and I can use a mouse and keyboard, no I don't need the spirit death mode." Thankfully the spirit death mode seems to have been added AFTER the game was fine-tuned (only 2 parts toward the end need the spirit walk for me as they are too hard). You never have TOO MUCH health and the ENEMIES NEVER TOO HARD OR EASY... everything, the weapons, health, damage is balanced perfectly, unlike Half Life 2 where you could walk through the whole game without saving or worrying about dieing (pretty much). Remember.. don't use spirit death mode and complain about it being too easy!!! The only one's the game will be too easy for are the hardcore CounterStrike players who kick your rear-end so much you never want to play CS ever.
