5-0 out of 5 stars The Second Greatest Game Ever.
Why is "Einhander" the second greatest game ever made for any system? It has some of the best game-play, depth, sound FX, fun-factor, presentation and replay value. For more detail, please see my review of "F-Zero GX" where I compare and contrast these two amazing games with some other great console games.

5-0 out of 5 stars Shooter Bliss
Rating: A+
5-0 out of 5 stars Eat your heart out space invaders
I'm 30 and miss the days of glory when arcade shooters ruled the world. This game seduces you with its kick butt graphics and outstanding game play. It is all you could every want from a shooter, except 2 player option, I would never sell my copy to anyone and will probably play this game when I'm 60. If you like Raiden, you will adore this game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Pure Video Game Perfection!
Video games are not made this good anymore.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Shooter of All Time
Though I missed R-Type in the arcade, the R-Types compilation is definitely the best game I've played in the past 8 years, stomping flat all competition, from RPG super-cult-favorite Chrono Trigger, to NES classicslike Legend of Zelda and Ninja Gaiden (yeah, I missed those when I wasyounger but am catching up with the used game market), to multimilliondollar budgeted games like Metal Gear Solid, to pop cultural phenomena likePokemon. Every game was left it in its wake. If I could only have boughtone game over the past few years, and that game was R-Types, it would besatisfying. Not only has it reminded me of why I started becoming a gamerto begin with, easily harkening back to old classics like Super Mario Bros.and Crystalis (though, after playing more SMB lately, I would say R-Typehas aged much better than SMB, actually. Granted I haven't owned R-Type aslong, but it is nearly as old). Prior to playing R-Type I hadn't played toomany space shooters, despite playing a wide variety of other games. Thiswasn't because I wasn't interested, I suppose, although the systems I had,the NES and SNES, weren't as much shooter systems as the systems I didn'town. But my purchase of R-Types, partially a bargin impulse buy, partiallybought because of good word of mouth, partially bought because of somefondness of mine for arcade compilations, totally changed my view of gamesand has influenced me to pick up other games faster than I would haveotherwise. Axelay for the Super NES, Einhander for the Playstation,Thunderforce 4 for the Genesis - all these and more I bought becauseR-Types influenced me to look for other games of its style and quality. Ieven bought R-Type Delta the week it was released due to a fever pitch ofexcitement over the prospect of buying the sequel to the game which has setoff a renaissance of gaming of sorts for me. But, keep this mind, none ofthe games that I was inspired to buy after playing R-Types has exhibitedthe impeccible degree of perfection that R-Types exemplifies. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very abnoxious excuse for a game...
This game showed me that in 1993, Star Wars reached an all time low. I'm sorry, but this game is stupid. Ha! I bet when you lookd at my review, you thought Iiked it!!!!!!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun Game But Kind of Hard
This Star Wars video game is so awesome! Level 1: Easy. But the other levels: hard. Pretty fun but hard. If your child plays the first level of the game they would think its the easiest game of all time. But when they play the rest of the game they would think its so hard they would want to get rid of it.

4-0 out of 5 stars another classic star wars game.. bravo lucasarts !
this game is excellent !! the graphics are playstation 1but who caresits fun..i love blasting thosetie fighters and shooting the stormtroopersits a great way to get rid of stressespecially after work... do yourself a favor if you find this gamepick it up..its a rare game but its worth it...especially if your a hardcore star wars fan like myself.. and the price is right..kudos ! ... I'm impressed.I never thought it would be this good, tons of hidden stuff, great unique levels, great effects.4-0 out of 5 stars Not for people who suffer from nervous twitches.
This follow-up to the spectacularly frustrating early R-Type games is different enough from those blood pressure increasers to stand on its own, but retains enough of the classic R-Type style gameplay to satisfy long-time fans of the series. Be forewarned that this title emphasizes the need for steady nerves and, sorry to say, a certain amount of trial-and-error as opposed to the all-out, non-stop, shoot-everything-in-sight-and-then-shoot-some-more-in-case-you-missed-something mayhem of other PlayStation side-scrollers like G Darius and Thunder Force V. While not as heavy-handed as the two earliest installments (available on Agetec's R-Types collection for those with oodles of time on their hands), R-Type Delta does demand that you learn from your mistakes, because you must be able to anticipate the patterns of the enemies and their attacks as well as the locations of surprise obstacles if you wish to progress. There is simply no way in Hell you will beat this game on your first attempt if you haven't seen the game played and beaten before, no matter how skilled a joypad jock you are (or THINK you are). One wrong move spells doom, and when you're in unfamiliar territory, you often can't tell which moves are the right ones to make until it's too late.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A close to perfect the franchise has come to
Wipeout 3 was a great way to get into the franchise because it has the best of what the previous games offered plus a little more. The graphics got some serious update since Wipeout 2 and the gameplay is a lot smoother and faster. Add to that a killer soundtrack and some nice little extras and this game is an obvious choice for any arcade racing fan.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the Wipeout Series
Though some will tell you that XL is the best, XL doesn't have analog support. And besides, the tracks in 3 are just hard enough. And the female voice of your ship's computer is helpful, while not being irritating. The music is great, and like some PSone games, you can drop it into your computer and rip it.Chemical Brothers - Under the Influence is probably my favorite song on this.
5-0 out of 5 stars Possibly the best game of all time, I'm not kidding
This was the first Wipeout game I played. I hated it for the first three hours-- and I probably wouldn't have kept playing if I hadn't just purchased a Playstation and had no other games rented to try out. After hour 4, it was OK, and I started to grasp the basic concept. By hour 20, I was totally hooked. By hour 40, I had my girlfriend playing-- and hating it just as much as I did. By hour 60, she was hooked, and I can't even count how many nights of racing and Eliminator challenges we had (before we broke up, anyway). Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This Is Very Science Fiction
"Darklight Conflict" is one of the most intriguing videogames I've ever seen. This game reflects on the premise of sci-fi pulp film "This Island Earth" and "The Outer Limits" original episodes. This game represents science fiction from the pulp and is not to be sneered at, unlike that copycat "Colony Wars" which simply hasn't a shred of originality in it."Darklight Conflict" uses no frills in making its point and there is a keen payoff to those who use the game.I'm happy to make my opinion for this game, because one ought to be reminded of the difference between originality and cliche'.Years ago, magazines were asking for better videogame ideas and, if movies can be taken seriously, why not videogames? This game definitely not only suggests a point, but is replete with originality in the genre.Fun and appreciation are not two different things to me.The plot matter and script of this game still stands way above most game plots used up to the moment I write this, 2005.Why aren't other sci-fi games more like this one? ... 1-0 out of 5 stars why people stop buying shooters
my title speaks for itself. this is not just a bad shooter game but a bad game period. the graphics are garbage (the ship looks like someone cut out triangles and taped them together) and the sound is like hearing soemone smashed cans together for the length of the game. no acceleration (at least not by the ship) and controlling the craft was difficult.i played raycrisis and expected better from akklaim but thats asking for too much. i wouldn't suggest anyone buy this game or pay full price for, you will be disappointed ... 1-0 out of 5 stars too hard and very boring
pros: - the stupidity of the news reports is funny. - you can blow up almost everything you see.5-0 out of 5 stars Very Challenging...
It took a while to figure out the controls. My dad couldn't figure it out on the first try. Its about racing. If you lose you get blown-up to pieces! The whole point of the game is to beat everybody else. one-player game, there is only one character to be. There are other aliens and humans thatyou race. Sometimes you race 3 or 4 at a time! I think this is a reallyreally fun game. ... Read more

I bought this game for $, and I cant say I was completely disappointed, but it just isn't a game that interests me too much. The graphics are ok and the controls aren't bad, but you can easily be confused and it just isnt very exciting. Its not too bad though, it's worth a shot. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A funny fun game.
This is one of the first games I ever got for my playstation.I broke it out again a little while ago and replayed it, and I found that its a really fun blast fest, all over again. One of the redeeming features of the game, is that it has a story, a really stupid story, in FMV, luckily crystal dynamics realized it was stupid, and put in a mystery science theatre 2000 aspect to it, and there are the shadows of the guys (no robot) commenting on the FMV.Its really funny.I played it all the way through again just to see the FMV. It has head to head driving/blasting action, as well, and its pretty fun too. ... Read more
